DedicationSometime in the 1980's, Richard Tober, a brother in Christ who was also an appliance repair man, came to our house on Hill Street in Coloma, Michigan to fix our kitchen range. He knew that I was a composer, and during the course of his time with us that day he told about his love for Jesus and his aspiration to write poetry with music to express that love. He didn't feel he was equipped to put music to his words, but he did have a poem that he gave me, wondering if I would set it to music for him. It was a difficult task because Richard's poetry was not set up in any formal poetic fashion; it was, however, a fulfilling task because his poem was such a simple, childlike, personal expression of his love for the Lord. I Am Going Home to Glory is the result of our collaboration. He was thrilled with the outcome. Now that Richard has left this world to be with Jesus, I am happy that God allowed and enabled me to set Richard's poem to music. -Richard Barber

One Lord, One Faith was a piece I composed at the beginning of the first Covid lockdown in 2020. The piece is score for SSAATTBB choir (although a version for SATB choir is also available too) and comes with a piano accompaniment for rehearsal purposes. Whilst the piece is tonal, the harmony moves fluidly to create a natural, organic sound of each voice to be individual but come together as one ensemble. The text used has been adapted from Ephesians 4:4-6 which makes this piece ideal for reflective church services as well as concert performances. The middle section showcases the male voices in the choir while the descant in the last section adds to the intensity as the anthem builds to a climax. An optional accompaniment has been added to the A Capella section if needed.A review of this work is welcomed.

I have merged the two ideas and created a double choir version singing some of the verses of the original song, divided in a way similar to John Dowlands duet. Versions are also available for ATBarB-ATBarB (men's voices) and for woodwind and brass. The sound sample is my own performance of the ATBarB-ATBarB version. I have also added timpani in the recording, but these are not scored and are optional.
