Works well without beat boxing, with just snapping, or more involved VP like in our performance. Though the chart is short, we liked to repeat the whole form once and let someone solo over A and B then have the main soloist come back at C. Anything for You is short and sweet, easy to memorize, and has some chromatic modulations that provide a challenge! A great piece to start out your semester with if you have singers with great intonation!

Here, it has been arranged for double reed choir (2 oboes, English horn, 2 bassoons, contrabassoon). The arrangement contains minimal edits to the original score allowing for the performers to interpret the work as they choose.The opening solo is performed is the rich low register of the English horn followed by solo bassoon. Just as in the original work, the main theme is continuous, and the theme is passed around the ensemble to every part. The work concludes with a short and sweet duet between the contrabassoon and 1st oboe.This arrangement is an excellent way to close out a university double reed studio recital or Double Reed Day. This traditional Irish hymn may also be appropriate for just about any day of the year, especially so at services before or after St. Patrick's Day. This hymn is for SATB w piano accomp. It may be performed a cappella. Written for quartet, very large quartet, or choir in church, school, or community choral groups. A pianist or organist may play the four parts along with the choir. This hymn is short and may be used as a benediction at the end of a religious service. Of course it is very useful within a choral concert performance of any sort. Just sing it softly when required, sing it sweetly, and your audiences will love it. This traditional Irish blessing is an ancient Celtic prayer. Celtic literature is famed for using images of nature and everyday life to speak of how God interacts with His people. May the road rise up to meet you is about God's blessing for your journey in life - may your walk be an easy one, with no mountains to climb or obstacles to overcome. It alludes to three images from nature - the wind, sun and rain as pictures of God's care and provision: The wind can be likened to the Spirit of God, which helps move you along on rough days. The sun's warmth in the prayer reminds us of the tender mercies of God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven. The soft falling rain speaks of God's provision and sustenance. Finally, we are reminded that we are held safe in God's loving hands as we travel on our journey through life.

I am your well-wisher and constant reader, R.H.R.H. is today believed to most likely be the Rev. Richard Hutchins, a Calvinist Baptist clergyman then serving in Long Buckby, Northamptonshire. Because of its popularity in New England churches thereafter, it has often been wrongly attributed to an anonymous early American poet or to Smith.The poem may be an allusion to the apple tree in Song of Solomon 2:3 (As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste), which has been interpreted as a metaphor for Jesus. It also alludes to other descriptions of the tree of life in both the Old and New Testaments. Primitive yet profound, Jesus Christ the Apple Tree has been set to music by many composers, including a very popular setting by Elizabeth Poston (1905-1987).
