Choral Choir (4-Part) - Level 4 - SKU: A0.934373 Composed by Luis Cardoso. Contemporary. Octavo. 140 pages. Luis Cardoso #6168163. Published by Luis Cardoso (A0.934373). Challenged by my friend André Granjo, I wrote this piece for Wind Instruments Group of Coimbra (GISC), where André is now conductor. It is expected to be premiered during the first months of 2013, in collaboration with internationally renowned saxophonist Jean-Yves Fourmeau. I've been teenager GISC saxophonist, and with the group traveled through several European cities, which otherwise would have been impossible for me. I dedicate the Martim’s Legend to GISC and Professor Adelino Martins, who directed the group for decades, until his retirement this year. I related his name with a book I read, A Lenda de Martim Regos written by Pedro Canais and published in 2004. Martin, the main character, is born in Ribatejo (Portuguese province) in the fifteenth century, and his fate led him through Africa, America and Asia. Its amazing fictional story inspired me this music, because of travel, discovery, persistence and distracted absorbing knowledge.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - SKU: A0.927020 Composed by Mary Rose Jensen. Arranged by Dr. Jim Fox, ASCAP. Christian,Graduation,Sacred,Spiritual. Octavo. 8 pages. All Brass Radio Publishing #3566411. Published by All Brass Radio Publishing (A0.927020). Send Us On Your Way is a Christian Anthem that would be terrific for services that challenge people to take their faith into the world. It would also be great for graduation, communion, as a benediction, mission commissioning and any other service where the message is to take heart and bring your faith' to the world. Written for SATB with Piano Accompaniment. Here are the lyrics:Through the world’s confusion, we hear a hopeful sound; Stories You have given tell peace and joy are found. In the One Who rose again when death had had its day; We can travel bravelyfor He had been this way. (Knowing You) Knowing You have loved us so, we come to You and Pray for we ask [Chorus:] Send us on Your way Show us how to walk in grace. Keep us on the road of holy faith, Send us on Your way. If the world were perfect, not damaged by the fall, If our heart were holy, not selfish, hard and small.

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Level 3 - SKU: A0.1396298 Composed by Brendan Graham. Arranged by arranged for solo and SATB choir by Desmond Earley. Celtic,Irish. 11 pages. Seolta Music Limited #979669. Published by Seolta Music Limited (A0.1396298). Arranged for solo female voice, SATB choir and piano, this is a song of hope, the hope of a girl to escape the workhouse during the Irish Famine years and to travel to make a new life in Australia. At the time the British Crown was encouraging girls to emigrate as a means to redress the gender balance in the colonies – there were simply too many men and not enough women. Over four thousand young women took this journey between 1848 and 1850. The composer Brendan Graham expressed his own hope that this song might have significance for the descendants of those girls, many of whom were present at the song’s first performance in 2012 at the Irish Famine Commemoration in Sydney.

Rhythm Section SATB Chorus divisi,Voice - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1488659 By Loreena Mckennitt. By Cseki Kalman and Roby Lakotos. Arranged by Kerry Marsh. Jazz,New Age,Pop. Vocal Jazz Ensemble. 64 pages. Kerry Marsh #1065505. Published by Kerry Marsh (A0.1488659). This arrangement, sold at SheetMusicPlus.com and SheetMusicDirect.com at a lower price than the standard flat-fee range for vocal jazz ensemble arrangements ($75), does NOT come with a demo recording or any rehearsal audio aids. Visit KerryMarsh.com and purchase the “All Tracks Pack (With SkyTracks Mixer)“ package and receive access to: 1. Arrangement Demo, 2. SkyTracks Mixer access, 3. Vocal Part Tracks, 4. Minus-One Tracks, 5. Rhythm Track, 6. Recording Stems (for those who wish to use their own Digital Audio Workstation).Composed by the Canadian Celtic singer Loreena McKennitt, Mummers' Dance has its roots in a centuries old tradition in which a roving band of costumed actors travels and puts on performances for people throughout the land. McKennitt's lyrics speak of the beautiful natural settings in which these mummers would live and work, and the musical landscape is matched perfectly in this arrangement, featuring both sustained and open sounds and exotic melismatic figures that would normally be played by period instruments. This arrangement features a break-out treble-clef soloist, with some modern reharmonization included to employ the vocal jazz aesthetic, and a polyphonic, wordless development section increases the energy of the piece before it winds down at the end, as if the mummers have moved on to travel to the next village.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - SKU: A0.928981 Composed by Traditional Irish. Arranged by Donald A. Mills, 2019. A Cappella,Christian,Holiday,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Octavo. 3 pages. Donald A Mills #4804981. Published by Donald A Mills (A0.928981). For a service in which the congregation is blessed with the Blessed Sacrament. This traditional Irish hymn may also be appropriate for just about any day of the year, especially so at services before or after St. Patrick's Day. This hymn is for SATB w piano accomp. It may be performed a cappella. Written for quartet, very large quartet, or choir in church, school, or community choral groups. A pianist or organist may play the four parts along with the choir. This hymn is short and may be used as a benediction at the end of a religious service. Of course it is very useful within a choral concert performance of any sort. Just sing it softly when required, sing it sweetly, and your audiences will love it. This traditional Irish blessing is an ancient Celtic prayer. Celtic literature is famed for using images of nature and everyday life to speak of how God interacts with His people. May the road rise up to meet you is about God's blessing for your journey in life - may your walk be an easy one, with no mountains to climb or obstacles to overcome. It alludes to three images from nature - the wind, sun and rain as pictures of God's care and provision: The wind can be likened to the Spirit of God, which helps move you along on rough days. The sun's warmth in the prayer reminds us of the tender mercies of God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven. The soft falling rain speaks of God's provision and sustenance. Finally, we are reminded that we are held safe in God's loving hands as we travel on our journey through life.

This piece provides wonderful opportunities to teach phrasing, text interpretation, rubato and to experience a full range of dynamics. I see footprints in the snow, where they lead, I do not know. Duration 3 minutes, 20 seconds. Galaxy Music Corporation - Digital #1.3504-E. Published by Galaxy Music Corporation - Digital (MQ.1.3504-E). English. The lyrics to Uphill signify our lives as a journey, with the final resting place as the “inn†which awaits us at the end of our paths. Darkness will not prevent us from finding the “inn†if we follow the path, despite the weariness of travel. Life is therefore an uphill journey, as well as a safe shelter to rest from life’s hardships is prepared and ready at the end of the road. -Melissa KeylockThis reassuring Christina Rossetti text, which is actually a metaphor for life itself, has been set for two part treble voices and piano. Originally written for middle school voices, the choral writing is approachable and the piano part expansive and sonorous. Duration: 3:20.

Published by Adrienne Inglis (ASCAP) (A0.953628). Great for concerts about nature and the environment, pandemic life, creativity!Shelter in Place by Adrienne Inglis (ASCAP) for mixed SSAATB chorus with nature soundtrack created by Chris Clark-Johnsona setting of Shelter in Place, a poem by Kim Stafford Commissioned by Lewis & Clark College, Portland, Oregon, April 2021Founder, composer, and singer with Inversion Ensemble of Austin, Texas, Adrienne Inglis also serves as principal flute with the Central Texas Philharmonic, flute instructor at Southwestern University, and flutist with flute/harp duo Chaski. She has music degrees from Lewis and Clark College and the University of Texas at Austin. An avid birder and environmentalist, she lives in the rural hill country of Central Texas.Poet Kim Stafford grew up in Oregon, Iowa, Indiana, California, and Alaska, following his parents as they taught and traveled through the West. He is the author of a dozen books of poetry and prose, and the founding director of the Northwest Writing Institute at Lewis & Clark College, where he has taught since 1979. He holds a PhD in Medieval Literature from the University of Oregon, and has worked as a printer, photographer, oral historian, editor, and visiting writer at a host of colleges and schools, and offered writing workshops in Italy, Scotland, and Bhutan.Shelter in Place by Kim Stafford (used with permission)Long before pandemic prisoned us,the trees knew how to guard their placewith roots and shade.Moss found how to hug a stone for life.Every stream knows how to move in place, stay home and yet flow outward, sending bounty far.Now is our time to practice-now to sing from balconies, now send words of comfortby any courier, now to hoard lonesome generosity-and then to shine in all directions like stars.Program note: Shelter in Place (2021) by Adrienne Inglis, commissioned by Lewis & Clark College, Portland, Oregon, April 2021, sets former Oregon poet laureate Kim Stafford’s poem Shelter in Place (2020) for SSAATB mixed choir with Oregon nature soundtrack created by Chris Clark-Johnson, Lewis & C lark College class of 2021. Written during the coronavirus pandemic, the poem expresses how quarantine can serve as a conduit for healing, how words of comfort flow despite barriers, and how the paralysis of sheltering in place generates creative movement. The music and poem draw inspiration from ancient forest wisdom, shown musically with a pentatonic scale. The tight harmonies of Locrian mode bind moss to stone and stream to its own flow. Then vocal expression bursts forth with lush harmonies as singers serenade from balconies, sharing compassion through music. Returning to the pentatonic scale, we overcome obstacles and send generosity beyond our ancient and modern world into the celestial realm. The nature soundtrack features sounds of the Oregon forest, stream, and night sky.Acknowledgements: The composer warmly thanks Katherine FitzGibbon, Bailey Dean, Chris Clark-Johnson, Kim Stafford, and the Lewis & Clark College Community Chorale. Choral (Sacred); Choral Worship Cantata; Larger Works; Performance Music Ensemble; Worship Resources. Advent; Christmas; Sacred; Winter. Score. 58 pages. Jubilate Music Group - Digital #00-20909. Published by Jubilate Music Group - Digital (JX.00-20909). English.Behold That Star! is an inspiring Christmas cantata that radiates the creative artistry and partnership of Jay Althouse and Sally K. Albrecht. As the Prince of Peace comes to bring light to a people in darkness, we travel by starlight on our Christmas journey. An inventive blend of scripture and hymn texts tells the story. An optional congregational candlelight ceremony adds a special touch as children's voices (opt. solo) and choir combine in strains of Silent Night. Christmas spirituals provide a joyous finale as the choir concludes, Behold that star of glory! It is the star of Bethlehem! Designed for incorporation into regular Christmas or Advent worship services, Behold That Star! may also be lengthened to create a special seasonal program or pageant by adding costumes and simple staging. Approximately 25 minutes long, it may be accompanied by keyboard alone or with additional instruments consisting of 2 trumpets, 2 trombones, flute, 2 clarinets and percussion. Both the instrumental parts and a fully-orchestrated performance/accompaniment CD recording are available separately.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 1 - SKU: A0.888534 Composed by Music by Kathleen Holyoak. Christian,Christmas,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Octavo. 7 pages. Kathleen Holyoak #6462381. Published by Kathleen Holyoak (A0.888534). On This Christmas Morning On This Christmas Morning, a beautiful SATB setting by lyricist, Sherry Summers and composer, Kathleen Holyoak, conveys the excitement and joy surrounding Christmas Day! It is one of rejoicing, commitment and praise to God, our Father, and the gift of His Son. Follow the words: Joyously the choir sings, in accord, praising Him! A chorus of angels joining in, on this Christmas morning. Peace on earth, good will to men. Praise to our Father, Elohim. Ringing chords in tune for Him, on this Christmas morning. Holy child of royal birth, the Savior’s come, He’s come to earth! He left His heavenly home for awhile; of Him we extol and testify! What are blessings He shall bring? Grace and mercy, love without end. May we raise a voice to Him, on this Christmas morning. What are the truths He shall bring? Seek Him in the simplest things! Let’s keep our promises to Him, on this Christmas morning. Holy child of royal birth, the Savior’s come, He’s come to earth! He left His heavenly home for awhile; of Him we extol and testify! Frankincense, gold and myrrh were gifts for Him from travelers afar. I give my heart, mind and strength, on this Christmas morning. Bethlehem brought forth my King, Master giver of everything. Let us give glory back to Him, On this Christmas, joyous Christmas, On this Christmas, Christmas morn! Copyright 2018

Published by Scott Bussen (A0.1380143). “Ode to a Cow†is a poem written over 100 years ago. While the original author of the poem will probably remain unknown, or questioned, the anonymity of the work sets it apart. Dozens of poets from the time could have penned its lines. As a composer and songwriter for many years, I see these old anonymous poems as a means to time-travel and collaborate with the poets of yore and provide my own musical interpretations of their works. This poem literally turned itself into a song on its own in just a few minutes - chords, melody, etc. This was 20 years ago and with each performance the song takes on new meaning. In a choral setting, the lines becomes even more nuanced. Each choir will interpret the piece differently. The punchline, or hook, is delivered five times and the complex simplicity within the text gently urges the whims of the choir for interpretation. This energy is certainly capable of extending far beyond the audience’ ears and facilitates the stirring of one’s imagination. Complex questions, simple advice - presented by the voices of a choir.

Published by Adrienne Inglis (ASCAP) (A0.1215070). Help fight the extinction crisis! Here's an important work for our times that's perfect for your nature/environmental program. It's an SATB (some divisi) a cappella choral piece with option soundscape, but stands alone with the singers making some nature sounds.Extinction by Adrienne Inglis (ASCAP)Soundscapes arranged by Seylon Stills in the audio sampleText : An Extinction by Kim Stafford (https://www.kimstaffordpoet.com) The poem “An Extinction†© 2022 Kim Stafford is unpublished and used with permission. An Extinction by Kim Stafford Not just the creature gone, not just the tattered feathers, dry leaf pressed thin. Not just the rendering from memory, not just the lost-list growing longer, a shape and hue from the field guide fled, not just a name that meant a life, a syllable that once was teeming glory, one bright flurry shimmering the sun. No. No. No. It’s one name gone from our happiness, one breath lost from our respiration, one thread frayed from our salvation, one plank gone from the ark that carried us. Be the songbird now and testify. Be the butterfly hinge of gold. Be the one with open hands these wonders to behold. Don’t let them fly. Be the songbird now and testify. Program note — Commissioned by Inversion Ensemble for its February 2023 Planet Home concert, Extinction sets the poem “An Extinction†(2022) by Kim Stafford for SATB mixed chorus. The three stanzas of the poem get distinct musical treatment: the first some text-painting and dissonance, the second rhythmic parts underpinning canonic melodic lines, the third a rich chorale. During my work on this piece, I happened to be traveling by train. The pitches of the train whistle snuck their way into the score as a dissonant chord. A nature soundscape may sometimes accompany this piece, although the tongue click sounds create a bit of their own aural ecosystem. Drawing attention to the unfolding catastrophe of mass extinction, Extinction hopes to inspire humans to action to prevent further loss of species biodiversity.

Weber died in 1826. On 4 March 1827, Schubert invited a group of friends to his lodgings intending to sing the first group of songs, but he was out when they arrived, and the event was postponed until later in the year, when the full performance was given. This arrangement is made for SATB and can be sung with the original accompaniment by Schubert but there is also a set of parts for Wind-instruments. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.1102519). A sacred hymn with music by Kevin G. Pace. Text, inspired by the book of Proverbs, by Mark R. Fotheringham. Text: Trust in the Lord with all of thine heart; Lean not to thine understanding. In all of thy ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct thy travelling. Honor the Lord with thy substance too, And with the first fruits of thy increase; So shall all thy barns be filled with grain, Thy presses with wine shall not cease. Fear of the Lord prolongeth thy days; Years of the wicked are shortened. The hope of the righteous shall be glad; The wicked an unexpected end. To the upright, the Lord's way is strength; Destruction shall find those who sow strife. But ne'er shall the righteous be removed. His words are a wellspring of life.
