So, I composed this new re-imagined rendition of the 12 Days of Christmas as a Holiday Hip-Hop Rap choral piece. This is a new dope hip-hop arrangement of the 1780 English Carol Christmas Carol 12 Days of Christmas. It has been modified completely in style, genre, instrumentation, and presentation. Musically, it has also been arranged completely as a hip-hop rap song with appropriate clean urban flavor with solo rap, choral rap support and audience participation with claps and stomps done by audience and choral members, plus rhythm supplied by drum set with deep hip-hop rhythm, plus female beat-box, and male beat-box musical options included if choral director chooses to add that additional hip-hop flavor, plus tubular chime instrument used throughout to provide haunting holiday hip-hop flavor on the DL. The lyrics are clean and suitable for high school choral groups. Additional support lyrics are added to support rap soloist. The tempo and style have been changed to Cool Swag with quarter = 110. Overall, this is a new fun re-imagined rendition of an old classic that high school students and their audiences should also find quite enjoyable. Choreographer should also find this to be a refreshing new project to choreograph.

Nel finale, però, rivolgendosi all’attuale compagno, la donna chiarisce che l'amore vero può esistere perché un uomo può davvero cambiare se innamorato.L’arrangiamento, per 5 voci miste (SMzATB) prende spunto dalla versione di Alessandro Cadario di Almeno tu nell’universo per coro femminile.Il brano parte dunque con un unisono di voci femminili che via via si aprono in 3 sezioni.Il piano regge l’armonia in queste prime 2 strofe.Gli uomini entrano solo nella battuta che precede il ritornello per sostenere il crescendo sulla dominante minore che risolve nella tonica maggiore.Nel ritornello l’armonizzazione è a 4 voci (SATB) con finale all’unisono con accordo vuoto del pianoforte per rendere la tristezza del testo (vanno a ridere di te).La seconda parte è pensata invece come un accompagnamento strumentale delle voci che alternandosi creano un arpeggio armonico. Al termine del secondo ritornello, un rallentato deciso e una modulazione secca che determina la revisione dell’andamento armonico delle parti centrali. Piccolo gioco con le parole a batt. 60 e finale classicheggiante.

Bring His LoveInspiration (below is a note I sent to my sister) Hi Karen! In the fall of last year I started working on a new church anthem for FUMC. Over the years your choir has sung several pieces of mine; so I felt I should do something in return. I quickly got an idea for the music only (sometimes I will get some lyric ideas also, but didn't this time.) By the first of the year I had the basic structure sketched out on paper but then put it aside for Easter Rehearsals. When the pandemic stopped all church choirs I returned to the music and by early May had the score in the computer, close to completion. At that point I still didn't have any lyrics but began feeling that it should be about God's creation. All I could envision was a singer with his arms stretched out to the sun, the ocean, the moon, etc. while singing this piece. So I started searching for a possible prayer that might fit and came upon Canticle of the Son. As I read it through I liked the structure and began sketching out the lyrics. I couldn't help but wonder what our response should be to God's creation. How should we thank him or praise him or take care of it? I then turned my thoughts to FUMC and considered this - what phrase would sum up this churches mission? I almost immediately got Bring His Love. From there the balance of the lyrics fell into place. So attached is the recording and the music. I have no expectations but hope you and the choir enjoy the music. The Music The piece starts with 16th note broken chords in the upper register of the piano which lead to the opening theme. A tenor soloist begins by singing God's praises for all he has given us; ending with the thought How can we thank such kindness?; The answer Bring His Love the B section. At its conclusion we are returned to the opening theme, this time sung by the choir which again leads us to the same questionHow can we thank such kindness?, The answer Bring His Love the B section. A C section is then introduced with a change to a more beat driven accompaniment with the vocals alternating between the upper and lower voices. This setting was written in response to a request from a church in Toccoa, Georgia, USA. The poem was written by Dr. Henry Fields, a former minister of the church, and now retired. It's quite a gentle setting, as befits the words, and is for mixed choir (SATB, with some divisions), with piano (or organ) accompaniment. A light orchestration is also available from the composer.The music builds to a gentle climax at the end of the poem:As angels sing and shepherds praiseAnd wise men priceless treasures raise,O bow your head to the lowly sodFor you hold none other than the Eternal God.

We come to the river for to drink from the stream.
We climb up the mountainside to reach for a dream.
We come to the forest for to blaze new trails
Reaching oceans, we unfurl sails.
And for our food and our raiment we will lightly care,
For learning and knowledge is our fare.
And every page which we study, every word we write
Leads closer to the truth and the right.
May each question be answered. May our vision be clear.
May we serve with conviction that our God's ever near.
May He ever sustain us as we follow His beam
