Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1032091 By Naughty Boy Featuring Emeli Sande. By Emeli Sande, Harry Craze, and Hugo Chegwin. Arranged by Julian Hay. A Cappella,Contemporary,Pop,Soul. Octavo. 7 pages. Julian Hay #6024773. Published by Julian Hay (A0.1032091). This arrangement was commissioned for, and premiered by, Voices Co. Pop A Cappella Academy, with an ensemble of 20 voices. It is versatile and catchy, and has also been performed by our Vocal Bands with one voice per part, as well as our Kids A Cappella class. This arrangement has a gospel vibe (complete with a shout chorus), but with the groove of the original track provided by the addition of rhythm and bass.VOCAL LAYOUT:The melody, or lead line, is divided amongst the vocal parts to give variety. The B.G (background) parts replicate the instrumental accompaniment of the original track, filling out the arrangement and creating the contemporary texture that is at the heart of Pop A Cappella. When it's performed, it should be heavy on the rhythm and bass! The Rhythm (Beatbox) and Bass should be a feature, and they provide the arrangement with the groove and vibe it needs. The dynamics give an indication which vocal parts should be strongest at any given moment, but changes may need to be made depending on the number / balance of singers, and the strengths of each vocal section. As a general rule, the melody or lead should be strongest, followed by any harmony parts (those with lyrics), followed by any background parts (Mmm's / Dmm's, etc). The full arrangement is scored for SATB including clicking, clapping and Vocal Percussion (beatboxing). The song also works as SAT and could be transposed into a higher key to be delivered by a treble ensemble.RHYTHM & BASS:This Beatboxing part is suitable for beginners, and is made up of groupings of patterns. Specific Beatboxing notes are included in their own section within the Beatboxing score. If your ensemble is without a low bass or a beatboxer you could consider the following options.- Use electric bass guitar playing the bass part- Use a drum kit or drum box (Cajon)- Use a piano to provide some simple background accompanimentAlways click and clap on the off beats (2 and 4).PERSONAL ASSISTANCE:If you need any assistance please don't hesitate to get in touch with us directly, we'd be happy to reply to any questions via email, or you can also book in a 1:1 consultation between your M.D and Julian Hay, or a Zoom workshop with your ensemble for specific feedback:E. hello@voicesco.nzW. www.voicesco.nz

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1019370 Composed by Kevin Longley. Christian,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Octavo. 12 pages. Kevin Longley #6532899. Published by Kevin Longley (A0.1019370). Bring His LoveInspiration (below is a note I sent to my sister) Hi Karen! In the fall of last year I started working on a new church anthem for FUMC. Over the years your choir has sung several pieces of mine; so I felt I should do something in return. I quickly got an idea for the music only (sometimes I will get some lyric ideas also, but didn't this time.) By the first of the year I had the basic structure sketched out on paper but then put it aside for Easter Rehearsals. When the pandemic stopped all church choirs I returned to the music and by early May had the score in the computer, close to completion. At that point I still didn't have any lyrics but began feeling that it should be about God's creation. All I could envision was a singer with his arms stretched out to the sun, the ocean, the moon, etc. while singing this piece. So I started searching for a possible prayer that might fit and came upon Canticle of the Son. As I read it through I liked the structure and began sketching out the lyrics. I couldn't help but wonder what our response should be to God's creation. How should we thank him or praise him or take care of it? I then turned my thoughts to FUMC and considered this - what phrase would sum up this churches mission? I almost immediately got Bring His Love. From there the balance of the lyrics fell into place. So attached is the recording and the music. I have no expectations but hope you and the choir enjoy the music. The Music The piece starts with 16th note broken chords in the upper register of the piano which lead to the opening theme. A tenor soloist begins by singing God's praises for all he has given us; ending with the thought How can we thank such kindness?; The answer Bring His Love the B section. At its conclusion we are returned to the opening theme, this time sung by the choir which again leads us to the same questionHow can we thank such kindness?, The answer Bring His Love the B section. A C section is then introduced with a change to a more beat driven accompaniment with the vocals alternating between the upper and lower voices. A return to the opening theme, with minimal chordal accompaniment, features the original soloist but then adds a second voice leading to a duet and a return to the broken chord accompaniment.. Finally the B section,Bring His Love is repeated and concludes in a rousing fashion.. Program Notes The piece could work very well for Earth Day celebrations.

Welcome to the Choir is a quirky, fun concert piece for a cappella SATB choir written in 2013 by UK composer Chris Lawry and commissioned by Parkrose High School PHS Choir, Lesley Bossert and the Parkrose Educational Foundation. It received its US/World premier by the choir in April 2014 and the UK premiere, by the Harlequin Chamber Choir, in May 2014.The piece is a fantastic, descriptive, concert opener, and is dedicated to the past, present and future students of Parkrose 'may your singing serve as a healing element to the realities of life, giving you lifelong friendships and show you the importance of beauty in our lives through music'.The piece features descriptive elements from each section of the choir, 'bass line on beat' 'tenor rhythm off beat' 'soprano melody' alto harmonies, homophony, polyphony, melismatic singing, a great show piece to introduce the choir at concerts and shows. Much can also be made of the theatrical elements of the piece (at the conductor's discretion). The recording is a temporary computerised fix until the commissioning choir have finalised their recording of the piece later in 2014 (words below), sounds odd computerised but sounds incredible live! WORDS:[Basses] Let's start with the bass line. On beat. (repeated)[Tenors] and add in a tenor rhythm. Off beat. (")[Sopranos] Now for soprano melody; beautiful melody, soprano melody.[Altos] But don't forget the altos who can turn a melody, into harmony (S A) Melody and Harmony.STOP![All] We sing in homophony, ah!
