During the Covid 19 lockdown the community choir Amber Valley Voices have worked with their MD Angie Cope and accompanist and composer Chris Lawry to write a lock down inspired song to rehearse in their Zoom rehearsals to hopefully use in their forthcoming concerts once restrictions are eased and we can begin to meet and sing together again.

Recently, I was asked to write an arrangement for choir of the fantastic track Heavenly Father by Bon Iver. The performance he gave at the Sydney Opera House in 2016 as part of Vivid Live, featuring The Staves, was so breathtaking that I immediately agreed to transcribe and arrange the song.

An earthy arrangement that features a soloist and some extra special choral effects, this tune is full of emotions and reaches an amazing climax that will wow your audience. Featured in the movie Wish I Was Hereby acclaimed director Zach Braff and scored for SATB Choir and soloist.

The performance Bon Iver delivered at the Sydney Opera House really took this song to a new level, giving it such emotion and power that takes your breath away. Utilising subtle body percussion and some exquisite voices, this video is a must watch if you wish to recreate the song at the highest level.

This is a choir version of the Elton John and Bernie Taupin hit, Rocket Man (I Think It's Going To Be a Long Long Time), from the 1972 album Honky Chateau, which also features on the 2019 biopic film Rocket Man.

This is an arrangement for SATB choir with piano accompaniment by well known choral arranger and composer Chris Lawry (www.chrislawry.com ). It is of a very accessible standard and runs for c.3'30", perfect for any concert or performance requirements.

From the smash hit movie musical The Greatest Showman comes a stirring song that encompasses the moral lesson of self-acceptance and triumph under adversity. Scored for SATB choir with soloist at an intermediate difficulty, this arrangement is a direct transcription off the original soundtrack and will be a sure fire hit in any program.

With music by the award winning Pasek and Paul, The Greatest Showman is a movie musical based on the life of P.T. Barnum. It is a story of overcoming adversity, rising above social classes and the establishment of an entertainment visionary. Brilliantly played by Keala Settle, the bearded lady gives us an emotional rendition of This Is Me, with lyrics such as ?I won?t let them break me down to dust? and ?I am who I?m meant to be?, speaking of the struggle to be accepted in society.

ABBA's 1974 Eurovision-winning hit, professionally arranged for SATB unaccompanied choir by Paul Ayres (www.paulayres.co.uk).
