Trascrizione a cura di Guido Menestrina Johann Georg Albrechtsberger (Klosterneuburg, 3 febbraio 1736 – Vienna, 7 marzo 1809) è stato un compositore austriaco. Johann Georg Albrechtsberger studiò musica presso l'Abbazia di Melk e filosofia al Seminario dei Gesuiti a Vienna e divenne uno dei più importanti e noti maestri di contrappunto della sua epoca. La sua grande fama di teorico gli procurò numerosi allievi che giunsero a Vienna per seguire le sue lezioni, fra essi vi furono Johann Nepomuk Hummel, Ignaz Moscheles, Joseph Weigl e Ludwig van Beethoven. Inoltre scrisse due trattati teorici e un metodo per pianoforte. Fu amico di Franz Joseph Haydn e Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Trascrizione a cura di Guido Menestrina Johann Georg Albrechtsberger (Klosterneuburg, 3 febbraio 1736 – Vienna, 7 marzo 1809) è stato un compositore austriaco. Johann Georg Albrechtsberger studiò musica presso l'Abbazia di Melk e filosofia al Seminario dei Gesuiti a Vienna e divenne uno dei più importanti e noti maestri di contrappunto della sua epoca. La sua grande fama di teorico gli procurò numerosi allievi che giunsero a Vienna per seguire le sue lezioni, fra essi vi furono Johann Nepomuk Hummel, Ignaz Moscheles, Joseph Weigl e Ludwig van Beethoven. Inoltre scrisse due trattati teorici e un metodo per pianoforte. Fu amico di Franz Joseph Haydn e Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Mentre Angoscia e Dolore is here presented in a new engraving of the original ATBarB voicing, prepared and revised by the composer from the original manuscript. The Agnus Dei is the final movement of Amy Beach‘s monumental Grand Mass in E-Flat Major, completed when Beach was 25 and first performed in 1892 by the Handel and Haydn Society orchestra of Boston. That group had never before performed a work by a woman. The critical acclaim which followed this milestone performance led to her being recognized as one of America’s foremost composers, and the 1890 publication of the vocal score was the first published major choral/orchestral work by an American woman.This edition omits the lengthy harp passages from the original and also shortens the introduction somewhat. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have experienced time and what is important to us in different ways. Certainly, there have been moments of uncertainty, anxiety, even panic over danger of contracting the virus, the long-term effects of the virus and the loss of life. In isolation, awaiting further instructions, we have had time to reflect, prepare and imagine. We have had to manage life with new guidelines and restrictions, while trying to keep ourselves and others safe. This work attempts to put time in perspective, with a message of hope for recovery, and a better understanding of how to move forward with passion and grace. The message is not just for life in a pandemic, but for life, in general. Hopefully, this work can stand the “test of timeâ€, finding a meaningful place in the repertoire.
