Walking in the Air is the iconic, beautiful song used in the 1982 animated film 'The Snowman'. The Welsh child singer, Aled Jones, popularised the song in a single released in 1985 to great commercial success.

This version is for four guitars of intermediate level. In the single download you will receive:

Inmy recording I have used an electric guitar. The arrangement is also verysuitable for classical and acoustic (steel strung) guitar groups. I am mindfulto create an arrangement which teachers can use for groups in music schools.The techniques employed mirror those required in the usual pathway of musicaland technical development. Guitar1 is the main vocal line, as sung by Freddie Mercury

Guitars2 & 3 contain many of the backing-vocal figures plus the electric guitarriffs and solo as played by Brian May

Guitar 4is a transcription of the bass line. It is an interesting andrhythmically-exciting part. Chord symbols are given in this part allowingchords to be added should the ensemble want these.

Guitar4 can also be played by a bass guitar. The part is also given in bass clef(sounding an octave lower).

Thisarrangement of Rockin? Around the Christmas Tree is written for a guitarquartet although it may also be performed by a large guitar ensemble with fourparts. The Guitar 4 part may also bedoubled on bass. The rhythms in thisarrangement are rather simple. The rangefor guitar 1 goes to a high D on the tenth fret for only one note. This should be considered an intermediatelevel arrangement and ideal for Year 2, Quarter 2.
