A short, easy arrangement of the theme from Antonin Dvorak's famous New World Symphony (2nd Movement).

This arrangement provides a full score plus individual parts in both notes and TAB. The notes and TAB are given on separate sheets as I am aware that some teachers avoid TAB.

The parts are equally balanced with every guitarist enjoying some melodic interest.

The level is suitable for very early stage players. The music:

(1) Remains in open position
(2) Uses finger-friendly pentatonic shapes (as supported by many major pedagogic schemes)
(3) Requires players to alternate single notes between both thumb and fingers
(4) Gives time and space before engaging more-tricky fretted notes.

This is the only arrangement in the LAGQ repertoire that was a true group-project with all four members (John Dearman, William Kanengiser, Scott Tennant and Andrew York) contributing; as a special bonus, new LAGQ member Matt Greif has added an alternative solo for the jazz section. Carefully notated to capture the nuances of LAGQ's stylistic flair, the parts are presented in standard notation as well as in tablature for those less familiar with note-reading. First, the young guitarists settle in to the sound of an ostinato on guitar 4. The sound of the bell, on the theme of Big Ben, announces the start of lessons. This project came from a request from Ms. Am�lie Grenier. The theatrical aspect of this play aims to stimulate collective work in their school environment. Suggestion during a public performance: The guitars settle in and start playing. All the other guitarists enter talking, tuning, playing and at the signal of the conductor in measure 5 the piece begins. Good show.
