Euphonium,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.593414 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by David McKeown. Christian,Gospel,Praise & Worship,Sacred,Spiritual. Score and part. 3 pages. David McKeown #6419025. Published by David McKeown (A0.593414). Were You There is a beautiful spiritual arranged here for Solo Euphonium and Piano. Were You There was first published in 1899 but its origins stretch back into the nineteenth century. Like many spirituals there are coded references to the Afro- American experience. The mention of crucifixion in such songs was often associated with the lynchings that were a common occurrence right into the late twentieth century.

Euphonium,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.594416 Composed by G F Handel. Arranged by David McKeown. Baroque,Christmas,Easter,Sacred. Score and part. 4 pages. David McKeown #6658347. Published by David McKeown (A0.594416). How Beautiful are the Feet is one of the best loved arias from G F Handel’s oratorio The Messiah. This version is arranged as a solo for Euphonium (treble clef, in B Flat) with piano accompaniment. The original 1741 version of The Messiah presented How Beautiful are the Feet as a duet for two altos and choir, but in 1749 Handel revised the piece as a solo aria for soprano. This revision forms the basis for this arrangement. The text is taken directly from the book of Romans in the New Testament.Musicians at an intermediate standard will find this ideal for formal and informal concert performances. Click the link YouTube link to listen to a complete performance of the clarinet version of this arrangement.Total performance time is around two minutes. Teachers will enjoy using this arrangement as a fun way to approach expressive playing and phrasing. There are many more top quality arrangements and compositions by David McKeown for you to browse at http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/david-mckeown/6203

Euphonium,Piano - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.792431 Composed by Erik Satie. Arranged by Ralph Sauer. 20th Century,Romantic Period,World. Score and part. 32 pages. Gordon Cherry #4821651. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.792431). Satie’s strange but beautiful pieces were composed in the 1890’s and were notated without barlines or time signatures. They consist of mysterious, hypnotic melodies supported by simple chord structures and are full of cryptic comments such as counsel yourself carefully and be clairvoyant. There are few restrictions on interpretation. Mr. Sauer’s beautiful arrangements of these six short works total about 15 minutes in length and are suitable for advanced performers.

Euphonium,Piano - Digital Download SKU: A0.793758 By Taylor Swift. By Johan Schuster, Max Martin, Shellback, and Taylor Swift. Arranged by DIXON mus-IC. Pop. Score and part. 6 pages. Rammy Music #4312083. Published by Rammy Music (A0.793758). This arrangement is for solo euphonium (bass clef) with piano accompaniment. Suitable for beginner or intermediate students, the piece is in G major. The parts are very clearly laid out with rehearsal marks and written indications of the form - verse / chorus etc. There is some information on the page such as staccato notes and phrase marks but it is ultimately a fun piece which can be played freely with a good strong feeling of pulse. The piano accompaniment is written out with the euphonium line indicated above on a smaller stave for reference. There are also large font chord symbols to facilitate variation or improvisation of the accompaniment. The part could also be used as a rhythm section lead sheet for even more fun.

Five Ragtime Solos by Scott Joplin for Euphonium and Piano
Euphonium, Piano (duo)
Euphonium,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1118306 Composed by Scott Jopl…
(+)
Euphonium,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1118306 Composed by Scott Joplin. Arranged by David McKeown. 20th Century,Jazz,Ragtime. Score and part. 33 pages. David McKeown #719824. Published by David McKeown (A0.1118306). Scott Joplin is celebrated as the United States’ first well-known black composer, making his name as a writer of piano rags. His life was a constant struggle with adversity, and Joplin died relatively young in 1917, at the dawn of the recording age. Few remembered Joplin’s music until a revival in the 1970s brought The Entertainer and others to the world’s attention. Nowadays Scott Joplin has taken his rightful place in the gallery of great American composers. The Rags included in this collection are, The Entertainer, The Maple Leaf Rag, The Easy Winners, The Elite Syncopations and The Favorite. They have been arranged as solos for one Euphonium with piano accompaniment, and include all sections of the original compositions. Bach: Bist du bei mir BWV 508 for Euphonium & Piano

Euphonium,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549222 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Baroque,Holiday,Standards,Wedding. Score and part. 9 pages. Jmsgu3 #3468180. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549222). J. S. Bach BWV 508. Bist du bei mir Bach adapted this aria from a lost Stölzel opera called Diomedes. He changed the original orchestral instrumentation to soprano, strings, and continuo.  He also modified the voice-leading making it sound more like a Bach composition. The work appears as BWV 508 No. 25 in the Anna Magdalena Notebook No. 2.  Source Only a few remnants of the original opera have survived. Historians speculate that Anna Magdalena got the song from the Leipzig Opera after the bankruptcy of 1720. Chances are good, though, that the tune was a favorite of everyone in Leipzig at the time.  Lyrics When thou art near, I go with joyTo death and to my rest.O how joyous would my end be,If your fair hands      Would close my faithful eyes. - Unknown Bach Overview First of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. Certainly, he was prolific. As a result, everyone has heard of his works. Furthermore, these works number well over a thousand. It seems like people are probably most familiar with instrumental works such as the Brandenburg Concertos, and the Goldberg Variations. But, similarly famous are such noteworthy works as the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Musical Offering, and certainly the Art of Fugue. Seems like his most famous vocal works include the most noteworthy Mass in B Minor. Also, most noteworthy are the St. John Passion, and indeed the Christmas Oratorio.  History Bach came from a long line of musicians and above all, composers. Consequently, he, first of all, pursued a career as a church organist. So as a result, he gained employment in various Protestant churches in Germany. For a while, he worked as a court musician in Weimar and Köthen. Here he probably developed his organ style and likewise his chamber music style. Eventually, he, therefore, gained an appointment as Cantor of St. Thomas in Leipzig. Here he worked until difficulties with his employer ultimately drove him away. The King of Poland finally appointed him as court composer.  Style It seems like Bach created a fascinating new international style. He synthesized elements of the most noteworthy European music ideas into his new style. Even more, this new style was probably his synthesis of European musical rhythm and form. Furthermore, he demonstrated a complete mastery of counterpoint and motivic development. His sense of harmonic organization probably propelled him to the top. Revival        Mendelssohn conducted a Bach revival in the nineteenth century. His effort probably helped to re-familiarize the public with the magnitude of Bach’s works. During this period, scholars published many noteworthy Bach biographies. Moreover, Wolfgang Schmieder published the BWV (Bach Werke Verzeichnis). As a result, this is now the official catalog of his entire artistic output. The BWV number allows us to locate a work in the catalog. Sometimes scholars will simply use an S (Schmieder) as an abbreviation for BWV.  Voyager NASA launched two Voyager spacecraft in 1977. Onboard are phonograph records with sounds, music, and images of life on Earth. The purpose of the launch was to inform intelligent extraterrestrial life forms about conditions on Earth. The music on the disc is varied. There is Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Stravinsky among others. However, because Bach is so important in our music history, it contains three times more Bach than all the others combined.

Jmsgu3 #4888311. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.550923). This arrangement features the controversial Schwencke measure (ms. 27) that was originally introduced in 1783 by Christian Friedrich Gottlieb Schwencke. The convenient 1st & 2nd endings provide an option for extended performance. Duration with repeat - 4:50. Score: 7 pages. Solo part: 1 page, piano part: 4 pages. Based on Prelude #1 in C Major from the Well-Tempered Clavier, Book 1. Well suited for church meditations or school programs or recital encores. Ave Maria Ave Maria is a Catholic prayer that consequently asks for the mother of Jesus (Mary) to intercede. Charles Gounod composed a famous version of the Ave Maria. He was a French Romantic composer who overlaid a new melody on an existing Bach chord progression. The progression is from Bach’s Prelude No. 1 from Well-Tempered Clavier I. This version, as well as Schubert’s version, have become essential items at weddings, masses, and funerals. Euphonium,Piano - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1112417 Composed by Scott Joplin. Arranged by David McKeown. 20th Century,Jazz,Ragtime. Score and part. 8 pages. David McKeown #714451. Published by David McKeown (A0.1112417). The most popular of Scott Joplin’s piano rags during his lifetime, The Maple Leaf Rag was published in 1899. Joplin lived for a while in Sedalia, Missouri and the Maple Leaf Club in that town is thought to have provided the name for this composition. It provided Joplin with a steady income for the rest of his life, and while he requested that it be played at his funeral, his wife refused as she felt it inappropriate. It was the first track on Joshua Rifkin’s famous 1970 revival recording of Joplin’s music and, never waning in popularity, it has featured in hundreds of films. This version for Euphonium and Piano includes all four sections of the original composition. The tempo in recorded versions varies widely between 72 and 126, so the marking of 92 is a suggestion only. Musicians at an advanced intermediate level and above will find this ideal for formal and informal performances. The overall performance time is around four minutes. Teachers will enjoy using this arrangement as a fun way to help with phrasing, syncopated rhythms and light articulation. Click the YouTube link to hear a full performance of the clarinet version of this arrangement. A quirky and imaginative piece, the Carnival features the representations of lions and swans, assortments of fowl, aquatic wonders, and even fossils. The Elephant is based on two themes, the Scherzo from A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Felix Mendelssohn and Dance of the Sylphs from The Damnation of Faust by Hector Berlioz. There are plenty of jokes in the Carnival, and no doubt audiences at the time chuckled when hearing familiar themes in a much lower presentation.

Published by David McKeown (A0.592533). It’s Been a Long Long Time is arranged as a solo for one Euphonium with Piano accompaniment. It’s Been a Long Long Time is best known to modern audiences as the song at the end of The Avengers, Endgame, where Steve Rogers, after seventy years, finally gets his dance with Peggy Carter. The song of course, is much older. Two versions of It’s Been a Long Long Time topped the charts in late 1945, and as US servicemen returned from Europe and the Pacific, it perfectly caught the mood of the times. One version was by Bing Crosby, and the other by the Harry James Orchestra featuring Kitty Kallen on vocals. It is the latter version that is heard in Endgame and the one that forms the basis of this arrangement.Musicians at an intermediate standard will find It’s Been a Long Long Time ideal for formal and informal concert performances. with both solo instrument and piano enjoying plenty of melodic interest. The separate solo part is included with the piano score in the same pdf file. The overall performance time is just over two and a half minutes. Bach-Gounod: Ave Maria for Baritone (or Euphonium) and Piano

Euphonium,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1310506 Composed by J S Bach-G…
(+)
Euphonium,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1310506 Composed by J S Bach-Gounod. Arranged by Colin Kirkpatrick. Instructional,Religious,Sacred,Wedding. Score and part. 7 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #899564. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.1310506). This ever-popular piece is often performed at weddings, funerals and many other solemn ceremonial events. It has always been a favorite among instrumental players and often used in recitals or concert encores. This arrangement by Colin Kirkpatrick is ideal for the intermediate baritone or euphonium player. Solo parts are provided (a) in bass clef in which the range is from the lowest G on the staff to the E just above it and (b) in treble clef transposed for B flat instrument in which the range is from the A just below the treble staff to the F sharp on the top line. In 1853, the well-known French composer Charles Gounod added his own melody over a rippling keyboard accompaniment which was a slightly adapted version of the Prelude No. 1 in C major, BWV846, from Book I of J. S. Bach's The Well-Tempered Clavier, published in 1722. The title of the “combined†piece was Méditation sur le Premier Prélude de Piano de S. Bach. Gounod’s original arrangement transposed Bach’s keyboard part from C major into F major and it was scored for violin (or cello), organ and piano. In 1859, the French music publishing company Jacques-Léopold Heugel brought out a vocal version based on the familiar Latin text. Ave Maria (Hail Mary) is a traditional Catholic prayer addressed to the Virgin Mary. The version of Bach's prelude which Gounod used included the so-called Schwencke measure (m. 27 in this arrangement), a measure (bar) allegedly added by the German composer and pianist Christian Friedrich Gottlieb Schwencke (1767-1822) in an attempt to correct what was considered a harmonic weakness in the original. Whether there actually was a “harmonic weakness†(or possibly an error in the manuscript) remains a matter of conjecture but the fact remains that the most familiar-sounding version of this piece, recorded countless times by both singers and instrumentalists includes this Schwencke measure. It is therefore included in this arrangement. Some published arrangements show minor inconsistencies in the rhythm of the melody. This arrangement uses the familiar rhythm of the Ave Maria version as it appeared in the 1859 edition.

Euphonium,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549672 Composed by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Children,Christmas,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and part. 20 pages. Jmsgu3 #3519151. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549672). Score: 10 pages: solo part: 3 pages, piano part: 6 pages. Duration: 2:22. This famous selection from the Nutcracker Suite is a classic Christmas program favorite. Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky Tchaikovsky is probably the most popular of the great composers in America. His music certainly appeals to musicians. Likewise, it appeals even to folks who don’t normally listen to serious music. This is probably because of his most noteworthy melodies. Above all, he writes with great emotion. This certainly makes a most noteworthy if not an unforgettable impact. Education First of all, He attended classes at the Russian Musical Society. Even more, He also attended the St. Petersburg Conservatory. There he studied music theory with Nikolai Zaremba. He also consequently studied composition with Anton Rubenstein. It seems like Rubenstein came under criticism from a group of Russian composers known as the Five. The Five The Five certainly rejected Western musical influences. They rather sought to use elements from Russian music. They furthermore wanted to use more exotic musical materials. Western Techniques More than other Russian composers, Tchaikovsky studied modern Western music. He certainly develops his music like the European masters. So, rather than repeating a motive, he moves to a new key. He then introduces a different theme in the new key. Hence, he maintained his independence from the Five. Even more, he became the first Russian composer of international stature. Influences Tchaikovsky was probably influenced in his ballet scoring by Léo Delibes. Richard Wagner influenced his symphonic writing. Tchaikovsky’s most famous works include the 1812 Overture, The Nutcracker Suite, and Swan Lake. Also famous are the Violin Concerto in D and the six symphonies. The greatest of the six symphonies may be No. 6, the Pathétique. Nutcracker Suite, Op. 71a The Nutcracker Suite is a ballet that was performed for the first time in December 1892 in St. Petersburg. To begin with, the original ballet failed to attract a positive reception. However, the ballet suite became probably one of the most popular of all of Tchaikovsky’s works. The ballet suite became even more famous in the 1960s. It is now performed all over the world, particularly during the Christmas season.
