The work is arranged so that guitars 1, 2 & 7 are for more-experienced players, and guitars 3, 4 & 5 for less-advanced learners. Guitar 6 is a very simple optional part. All guitars have melodic and rhythmic interest.

The download includes a full score and all individual parts.

The bass part is presented in both treble and bass clef so can be played by musicians used to reading either clef.

El C�ndor Pasa is a piece from a zarzuela (a form of Spanish light operetta) by Daniel Alom�a Robles. The Peruvian wrote the work in 1913. The work has since been recorded thousands of times, most notably by Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel who provided it with new lyrics and a subtitle (If I Could).

This arrangement is designed for teachers and music groups where there is a mixed level of experience amongst the players. The arrangement is adaptable and flexible as certain parts can be omitted as the ensemble sees fit.

This arrangement of the Tears for Fears classic is ideal for schools and mixed-ability ensembles. It includes a bass guitar part, and an optional Guitar 6, that doubles the bass. The piece can be performed with either part, or both! Bassists are encouraged to try drop-D tuning or 5 string basses for the optional low D.


Guitar 1 is similar to the guitar part on the original Tears for Fears recording, including transcribed solo, and suits more advanced players.
Guitar 2 is the vocal melody
Guitar 3 and 4 are rhythm guitar parts, with Guitar 4 being a simple part suitable for beginners
Guitar 5 adds rhythmic interest and can be treated as optional for smaller ensembles

The arrangement works well with a traditional ensemble of all acoustic guitars, or all electric - or a mix of both!
