Kol Nidrei, Op. 47, is a composition originally written for cello and orchestra by Max Bruch. He completed the composition in Liverpool before it was first published in Berlin in 1881. It is styled as an Adagio on two Hebrew Melodies for Cello and Orchestra with Harp and consists of a series of variations on two main themes of Jewish origin. Bruch scored the work for solo cello, 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons, 4 horns, 2 trumpets, 3 trombones, timpani, harp and strings. In the present arrangement for Solo Alto Saxophone and SATB Saxophone Quartet, the 1st alto takes the solo cello line, while the remaining four voices cover the orchestral accompaniment. Special thanks go to Mr. Marino Galluzzo, leader of the Three Rivers Saxophone Quartet, based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for suggesting the arrangement and providing encouragement. The premiere performance took place at the 23rd Annual Saxophone and Woodwind Workshop, hosted by the TRSQ at California University in California, Pennsylvania, in June 2013. Swinging Shepherd Blues is a well-known tune by Moe Koffman, originally titled Blues a la Canadiana and renamed Swinging (or 'Swingin') Shepherd Blues in l957 when it was recorded by the composer, playing the flute, for the LP Hot and Cool Sax. Among more than 300 recordings of the tune are versions by Count Basie, Herbie Mann, Mantovani, and David Rose. A vocal rendition, with lyrics by Rhoda Roberts and Kenny Jacobson, has been recorded by Ella Fitzgerald, and more recently by Natalie Cole. The tune has also been recorded by various Canadians, from Oscar Peterson to the Edmonton Youth Orchestra. Koffman used Swinging Shepherd Blues as his signature tune until 2000. This arrangement is playable by SATBBs Saxophone Quintet with substitute parts for Soprano (1st Alto), Baritone (2nd Tenor) and Bass (2nd Baritone). Baroque. 53 pages. James Pybus #6096827. Published by James Pybus (A0.764730). Benedetto Marcello was born in Venice on 24 July, 1686 and died at Brescia on 24 July, 1739. Marcello's life was a strange mixture of the political and the artistic. His brother, Alessandro Marcello (24 August 1669 – 19 June 1747) was an Italian nobleman, poet, philosopher, mathematician and musician. He wrote a concerto in D minor for oboe, strings and basso continuo, perhaps his best-known work. The work is in three movements and was first published in 1716 in Amsterdam. Its worth was affirmed by Johann Sebastian Bach who transcribed it for harpsichord (BWV 974). Several editions have been published of the famous Oboe Concerto in D minor. The edition in C minor is credited to Benedetto Marcello. This arrangement is for Solo Soprano Saxophone and SATB Saxophone Quartet. Duration is 10:20. Contact me at james.pybus56@gmail.com.

The song was originally entitled Never No Lament and was first recorded by Duke Ellington and his orchestra on May 4, 1940. Don't Get Around Much Anymore quickly became a hit after Bob Russell wrote its lyrics in 1942.Two different recordings of Don't Get Around Much Anymore, one by The Ink Spots and the other by Ellington's own band, reached No. 1 on the R&B chart in the US in 1943. Both were top-ten pop records, along with a version by Glen Gray.
