Moon River by Henry Mancini is a familiar melody that can add a lighter note to your next program.
Adapted for flute choir (flutes 1-4, alto, and bass), and scored with lush jazz chords, this
arrangement is not difficult technically, but pays attention to dynamics and phrasing to create
a relaxing break from more serious program choices. Both the upper and lower flutes have their
turn at carrying the theme through two keys, all supported by a flowing accompaniment that

Of all fun songs, this one is at the top of the list! Walt Disney's 1950 animated movie, Cinderella is a classic movie with classic songs. This song was also used in the remake movie in 2015.

Play this piece light and bouncy, and not too fast. It is set at the typical "march" tempo.

This arrangement is simple enough for musicians with intermediate skill. The upright bass part is optional, and can be substituted by any C instrument in a similar range, like a cello or bassoon.

This is a great closer for your recitals, and will have your audience going home happy.

Super Mario Bros was a super popular Nintendo game, but I think the song was even more so. Back in the 80's, game music was written to attract attention to the game itself, rather than enhance the player's experience during the game. It was more or less, just a catchy tune. However, when Koji Kondo wrote the music to Super Mario Bros, he created it as an active part of the game. This idea would help change game music forever.

I feel as if I don't need to give any comments on how to play this piece, but I will say that in the interest of not inundating the sheet music with dots everywhere, this song should be played staccato throughout the piece unless otherwise noted.

This piece has a lot of syncopation, but it is repetitive, so musicians with intermediate skills should be able to play this piece.

Scored for piccolo, 4 C, alto, and bass flutes.

The Impossible Dream (The Quest) is the most popular song from the1965 Broadway musical Man of LaMancha and is also featured in the 1972 film of the same name. The song was composed by Mitch Leigh,with lyrics written by Joe Darion. It was awarded the Contemporary Classics Award from the Songwriter?sHall of Fame.

I have always found the lyrics of TheImpossible Dream extremely moving:

This is the first movement of Part 2, Christ's Passion, of Handel's oratorio, The Messiah.

Flutes 1 - 4 represent the SATB chorus, and the lower parts represent the orchestral parts. That said, Flutes 5 and 6 are more diffcult because they are playing the violin parts, which include more ornamentation than the voice parts.

Scored for 6 C, alto, bass, and optional contrabass flutes.

This is a powerful piece to add to your Easter recital program.

Behold the Lamb of God, that taketh away the sins of the world.

The theme song from Halloween ranks as one of the creepiest movie theme songs ever. It was first composed in 1978, and is still creeping people out just as strong as ever. Critics have grumbled about it being too simple, but that's what makes this piece so memorable.

Set at a time signature of 5/4 throughout, this arrangement is scored for 2 C flutes, alto, and bass. Each of these 4 parts have 2 part divisis at one point or other. Optional contrabass and cello parts are also included.

It goes without saying that this piece should be played in a cold and mechanical manner. It definitely isn't a "pretty" piece. The lower instruments should be strong, while the upper instruments tip toe on top. If you would like to add a little more interest to the piece, an egg shaker could be played at every beat.

This will give your audience the heebie jeebies.

This piece is simple enough for musicians with intermediate skill.

Of all the Irish folk tunes, Danny Boy is the most well-known of them all. This arrangement is based on the adaptation of the tune sung by the King's Singers by Peter Knight and Philip Lawson.

This is a straight forward arrangement of Danny Boy that has beautiful harmonies and is rhythmically simplistic. This is a great closer for your recitals.

Scored for 3 altos, 3 basses and contrabass flutes. There are optional contra-alto in G and cello parts that double the Bass 3 & Contrabass parts.

Alan Silvestri is one of my favorite movie composers. He composes mainly for the film industry, and wrote fantastic scores for movies like Forrest Gump, Back to the Future, and Night at the Museum, to name a few.

This piece comes from the movie, Cast Away. The movie didn't have much music in it, which was intended to create a feeling of isolation. Needless to say, when music was played during a scene, it made a big impact. Silvestri won a Grammy Award for his music score in this movie.

This arrangement of the theme song is written for 2 altos, 3 basses, contra-alto in G, and contrabass flutes. The Bass 3 part is optional if you have a contra-alto in G. The optional cello part is to provide extra support to the contrabass, if needed.

This piece is very soothing and meditative. I hope your choir and your audience will enjoy it.

Flute Quintet - Intermediate - Digital Download. This selection, "Carol of the Bells", also known as "Ring, Christmas Bells", is suitable for high school and college students and is perfect for Christmas concerts and church services. "Carol of the Bells' was written by the Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych in 1914 with lyrics by Peter J. Wilhousky. The song is based on the Ukrainian folk chant "Shchedryk", a New Year's song, known in English as "The Little Swallow", and utilizes a four-note ostinato which brings to mind the ringing of bells. Originally intended to be sung a capella by a mixed four-part choir it has since been recorded into over 150 versions and re-arrangements for various vocal and instrumental compositions. One version, "Ring, Christmas Bells", an English-language variant with Nativity-based lyrics, was written by Minna Louise Hohman in 1947. Regis Bookshar has now arranged the music for a Flute Quintet. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (16 pages). In addition to this version for 5 Flutes, many other arrangements of this selection are also available for a variety of instrumental ensembles, including Quintets, Sextets, Septets and Octets, as well as numerous other selections in a wide variety of styles.
