Flute Choir,Woodwind Ensemble Flute - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1449852 Composed by William Byrd. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Chamber,Early Music,Historic,Instructional,Renaissance. 27 pages. Regis Bookshar #1029616. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1449852). Sing Joyfully - William Byrd - Flute Sextet - Advanced/Intermediate - .William Byrd was the greatest British composer of the late Renaissance, and just maybe, the greatest Bristish composer ever. He wrote a huge body of choral music, some of it profound and timeless. He also composed brilliant, virtuoso pieces and his motet-like anthem, Sing Joyfully, a polyphonic setting of Psalm 81, written in 1590, is perhaps his best-known one, It is enchanting to listen to and is fun to sing. Regis Bookshar thought that instrumental performers should have the same opportunity that singers have experienced for years so he has now transcribed, edited and arranged this wonderful selection for a Flute Sextet.Since no tempo is indicated and there are no written dynamic or phrase markings in William Byrd's original score, Regis Bookshar has taken the liberty to add them in order to provide direction and life to the piece. This arrangement is suitable for high school and college students and is perfect for concerts and recitals and perhaps even church services, but could be performed for any occasion. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (27 pages). This selection is readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may find something else that may also suit your needs. Also, please feel free to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar as there are numeous selections in a variety of styles also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check back periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I'm certain that this wonderful arrangement of William Byrd's delightful, Sing Joyfully', will continue to entertain both peformers and audiences alike for many years to come.

Published by Grant Horsley (A0.1018223). Olivia's Waltz started life as a waltz for ballet for piano, but has now been arranged for flute choir- ( 4 C flutes, Alto and Bass flute). It is a very romantic lyrical waltz in concert D major- with two phrases in the middle passing through F major and A major before returning to D major. The rhythm is very simple and the highest note is played by flute 1 which has top A once. The whole score is on the youtube link for you to assess suitability. It is 4 mins 30 in length and would be very appropriate for concerts, recitals, contests etc.Price is for the full score and all parts.

Published by Lisa L Ochoco (A0.560152). Thomas Morley was one of the most well-known English composers of madrigals during the Renaissance. His music is still widely performed by singers today. It is assumed that he studied music and/or sung under the direction of William Byrd. Morley's madrigal compositions stand out from other Renaissance pieces because of their lighter tone and quicker tempos.

Woodwind Ensemble Flute - Level 4 - SKU: A0.773303 Composed by Various. Arranged by Yoel Epstein. Christian,Folk,Holiday,Praise & Worship,Sacred. 32 pages. Yoel Epstein #3238781. Published by Yoel Epstein (A0.773303). I wish you the greatest pleasure playing these arrangements of traditional Thanksgiving songs. Thanksgiving is one of the most beautiful of holidays, a holiday filled with joy and music. We Gather Together to Ask the Lord's Blessing: Written in 1597 by Dutch composer Adrianus Valerius to celebrate Holland's victory over Spain, the tune was brought to American shores by the early Dutch settlers. Poet Theodore Baker wrote a new version of the lyrics in 1894, which became the standard Thanksgiving version. Over the River and Through the Wood: Lydia Maria Child, an outspoken abolitionist and advocate for Indian rights, wrote this poem in 1845. It was set to music by an unknown composer. Let All Things Now Living (The Ash Grove) This traditional Welsh melody (Llwyn Onn or The Ash Grove in Welsh) has inspired numerous lyricists to write words to the hauntingly beautiful tune. The poem by Katherine Davis, written in 1939, is the text most associated with Thanksgiving. Amazing Grace: Written by reprobate sailor John Newton in 1779. Known for his profanity, vulgarity and venery, he was imprisoned, beaten, and enslaved, before he reformed, and became a leading minister and hymn-writer. This is one of the most popular hymns ever written. This Land is Your Land: A traditional American tune, made famous by folksinger Woody Guthrie in 1940. Guthrie wrote the words as a rebuff to the song God Bless America, the huge hit by songwriter Irving Berlin. As a counter to Berlin's drum-beating patriotism, Guthrie would occasionally add politically charged verses expressing his support for communism. I hope you enjoy playing this as much as I enjoyed writing it. If you need other pieces of Americana for your ensemble, you might find them in Best-Loved American Folksongs, in two volumes, available here (volume 1) and here (volume 2). There are also arrangements of Battle Hymn of the Republic, Stars and Stripes Forever, America the Beautiful, and The Star-Spangled Banner. You can see them all and more at my composer page. I have also arranged three songs from the Holocaust, which I distribute for free on IMSLP. You can find them at http://imslp.org/wiki/Category:Ravpapa. If you need arrangements of any of these songs for special combinations of instruments, feel free to contact me at yoelepst@gmail.com, and I will try to accommodate.

Woodwind Ensemble Flute - Level 3 - SKU: A0.813987 Composed by Franz Xaver Gruber. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Christmas,Instructional,Multicultural,World. 11 pages. Regis Bookshar #6636631. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813987). Flute Octet - Intermediate - . This arrangement of Silent Night, or in German, Stille Nacht, would be a wonderful addition to any music library and could be performed for Christmas concerts, recitals, and, especially, church services. It is equally suitable for junior and senior high school students and even older musicians. Depending on their ability, younger musicians would also enjoy playing this selection. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (11 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time.Silent Night is probably the most popular Christmas carol ever written. It was composed in 1818 by Franz Xaver Gruber to lyrics by Joseph Mohr and was first performed on Christmas Eve at St. Nicholas parish church in Oberndorf, a small village in present-day Austria. A young Catholic priest, Father Joseph Mohr, had written the poem, Stille Nacht, in 1816 and had gone to Oberndorf in 1817. The melody was composed by Franz Xaver Gruber, schoolmaster and organist in the nearby village of Arnsdorf. On Christmas Eve, 1818, Mohr brought the words to Gruber and asked him to compose a melody and guitar accompaniment for that night's mass, after river flooding had possibly damaged the church organ. The church was eventually destroyed by repeated flooding and has since been replaced with the Silent-Night-Chapel.According to Gruber, Karl Mauracher, an organ builder who serviced the instrument at the Oberndorf church, was enamored with the song, and took the composition home with him to the Ziller Valley in Tyrol, Austria. From there, two traveling families of folk singers, the Strassers and the Rainers, included the tune in their shows. The Rainers were already singing it around Christmas, 1819, and once performed it for an audience that included Franz I of Austria and Alexander I of Russia. They also gave the first performance of the song in the United States in New York City in 1839. By the 1840's, the song was well known and was reported to be a favorite of Frederick William IV of Prussia. During this period, the melody changed slightly to become the version that is commonly heard today. The version of the melody that is generally used today is a slow, meditative lullaby, or pastoral, differing slightly from Gruber's original which has a moderate tempo. The song has been translated into about 140 languages and has been recorded by many singers across many music genres. The version sung by Bing Crosby in 1935, has sold over 10 million copies as a single. In this arrangement of Silent Night, Regis Bookshar has kept the basic form of this familiar Christmas carol, but has also included a descant during the third verse. Also, in addition to this version for a Flute Octet, there are other arrangements of Silent Night available for a variety of instrumental ensembles. There are Quintets and Octets readily available for purchase. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may find something else that might also suit your needs.I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a wide variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I'm certain that this wonderful arrangement of Silent Night will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

Woodwind Ensemble Flute - Level 3 - SKU: A0.549859 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Baroque,Concert,Easter,Sacred,Wedding. 24 pages. Jmsgu3 #3556989. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549859). Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme (Awake, the Voice is calling us) from Cantata BWV 140. Duration: ca. 4:00, Score: 10 pages, Program this for church services during the Easter season, weddings, or as a recital encore.Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme (Awake, the Voice is calling us) also known as: Sleepers Awake Bach composed his church cantata Wachet auf (BWV 140) as part of his second annual cantata cycle covering the entire annual church calendar. It is based on the hymn of the same name by Philipp Nicolai (1599). The hymn text covers the readings for the 27th Sunday after Trinity. Bach designed the cantata in seven movements, setting the stanzas in various forms. Among these forms are the chorale fantasia, the chorale prelude, and a four-part chorale. He casts the new lyrics as recitatives – in a manner similar to the opera. Fourth Movement Bach writes the fourth movement, Zion hört die Wächter singen (Zion hears the watchmen singing), in the style of a chorale prelude with the chorale phrases performed as a strict cantus firmus. The phrases seem to enter at times erratically against the famous lyrical melody. The violins play this melody in unison as a foil against the cantus phrases. The violin melody is so independent and complete that when the cantus melody appears it catches the listener at times totally off-guard. Bach later transcribed this movement for organ (BWV 645). This transcription became No. 1 of the Six Schübler Chorales. Bach Overview First of all, Johann Sebastian Bach is maybe the greatest composer in music history. Certainly, he was prolific. As a result, everyone has heard of his works. Furthermore, these works number well over a thousand. It seems like people are probably most familiar with the instrumental works such as the Brandenburg Concertos, and the Goldberg Variations. But, similarly famous are such noteworthy works as the Well-Tempered Clavier, the Musical Offering, and certainly the Art of Fugue. Seems like his most famous vocal works include the most noteworthy Mass in B Minor. Also, most noteworthy, though, are the St. John Passion, and certainly the Christmas Oratorio. History Bach came from a long line of musicians and above all, composers. Consequently, he, first of all, pursued a career as a church organist. So as a result, he gained employment in various Protestant churches in Germany. For a while, he worked as a court musician in Weimar and Köthen. Here he probably developed his organ style and likewise his chamber music style. Eventually, he, therefore, gained an appointment as Cantor of St. Thomas in Leipzig. Here he worked until difficulties with his employer ultimately drove him away. The King of Poland finally appointed him as court composer. Style It seems like Bach created a fascinating new international style. He synthesized elements of the most noteworthy European music ideas into his new style. Even more, this new style was probably his synthesis of European musical rhythm and form. Furthermore, he demonstrated a complete mastery of counterpoint and motivic development. His sense of harmonic organization probably propelled him to the top. Revival Mendelssohn conducted a Bach revival in the nineteenth century. His effort probably helped to re-familiarize the public with the magnitude of Bach’s works. During this period, scholars published many noteworthy Bach biographies. Moreover, Wolfgang Schmieder published the BWV (Bach Werke Verzeichnis). As a result, this is now the official catalog of his entire artistic output. The BWV number allows us to locate a work in the catalog. Sometimes scholars will simply use an S (Schmieder) as an abbreviation for BWV. Voyager

This beautiful and poignant song is part of my Compositions that care series, meaning all profits from thios arrangemnt goes to a charity. This charity is for LGBTQ+. ( about the song meaning)Wrabel, the composer, stated the song is about the LGBTQ+ community and all the hardships they face. The song is directed and to encourage and give hope to a trans person who is being treated poorly and ostracized , and to let that perosn struggling know that there is absolutely Nothing wrong with you and there's soemthing wrong with the village.Too many of the trans/LGBTQ+ comminity are struggling , especially in todays political climate. All around the world LGBTQ+ persons are being bullied, discriminated against , attacked, thrown in jail , and even killed with liitle to no laws to protect people.in my own personal life, as a victim of a horrible hate crime where the person involved attmepted to beat me and kill me , unfortuanelty i found out very qucikly how laws even in the USA do not protect me , how many cops ignored me and/or attmepted to make the attack my fault , and how laywers did not want to help and judges either ,and beacsue of the laws i was not protected as a minority and the crime wasn't a hate crime even though the criminals admitted this as the reason of the attack.I was told that this was not a hate crime , unless the criminals made me a victim of S.A., used a car/vehicle , or a gun, or actually ended my life. I also wanted to add , this brutal attack ( recorded on video by the criminals ) which caused such serious bodily harm, had me in the hospital for surgeries, and required months of long and painful rehab and therapy. As a country, as a society, as a planet , we all need to do better, and have to have more protections for such a discriminated group of persons.I did want to add , all the issues happening around the world, and even here in the USA, such as the awful and fascist discrimitory laws in Florida and other states it's no wonder the statistics of LGBTQ+ that contemplate ending their person or even attempting the act .I ask respectfully that every one please go to law makers and demand better laws and treatments of people no matter what community there are of. All people deserve respect, proper medcial care, and to have the same rights as every other human being. We all can and must be the change you wish to see in the world. Geraldine (Denny) Green at Oakmountmusic #903088. Published by Geraldine (Denny) Green at Oakmountmusic (A0.1314344). ALL PURCHASES COME WITH SCORE AND PARTSThe Divertimento for Flute Choir was requested by flautist David Greenalgh for the Flute choir Tooti Flooti and was written in June and July 2016. It has 3 short movements and a total duration of about 15 minutes. The outer movements are speedy, light hearted and sunny natured, while the middle movement is slower and rather haunting. The 3rd movement is the only one with a title, “The June Prune Tuneâ€, and there is a funny story behind the name. Many summers ago, my husband, Bob, and I were playing guitar and penny whistle together at home and I just happened to be snacking on dried prunes at the time. Bob joked that I should write a tune called the Prune Tune. I went a step further and said, June prune Tune, but it had to be written in June and I had to be eating prunes while actually writing it. Well, for the two Junes of 2014 and 2015 I tried to do it but no tune came. Nothing. Silence! Then, on the 1st June 2016 I was dashing home from work and I dived into a small corner shop for a sandwich and happened to spot a pack of dried prunes along with other dried fruits. So, in the local park, I stopped to have my butty and prunes while watching the birds and as I was eating the prunes a tune suddenly was there in my mind and I was subconsciously humming it. Like a thunderbolt it hit me! This was it! The June Prune Tune had arrived. Luckily I nearly always have paper on me so at once I scribbled it down, while munching very deliberately on the only two prunes left in the pack! Music doesn’t always have to be filled with sorrow and sadness and turmoil, even though much of mine is. But sometimes it’s just great to let the humour and flippancy flow, too, and simply enjoy having a good joke and a laugh. The Instrumentation is:Flute 1 – doubling Piccolo, Flute 2 – doubling piccolo, Flute 3 – doubling piccolo, Flute 4, Alto flute, Bass flute and string Double Bass.As the work was written for a specific group of players, the parts are single and do not divide within themselves. This, however, should not prevent it also working well with more than one player per part. The double bass part sometimes doubles the bass flute line, but also is an independent part in its own right.
