Wonderful tunes that came out of nineteenth century America. Many of the pieces are well known, but received a fresh setting that would be playable on the harp. A few tunes are less well known, or even obscure, but were chosen for their artful melodies. The arrangements translate well on the piano as well as the harp, and Mr. Sullivan also includes guitar chords and lyrics. You'll revive the "Parlor Tradition" of days gone by and make these old tunes live again is part of your own musical tradition. There is a brief historical paragraph on each tune. One interesting piece is the "Persian Princess Waltz." It is from a 1901 method book for the reed organ. This method book was discovered in Mr. Sullivan's garage and was autographed by the author, Mattie Pirtle.

Journey to the Cross by Pam Ohms is a group of hymns and originals. There are scriptures to be read before each piece is presented, so this booklet can be used as a complete service with song and scripture for Holy Week. The music is for full range lever harp, or pedal harp. This is a valuable tool for those of you needing material for Lent. Each piece can also be used individually.

The Huron Carol, set for voice and harp, is also suitable for melody instrument, such as flute or recorder, with harp or piano accompaniment. This arrangement works also for two harps, with the easier Harp 1 part on the melody and Harp 2 on the more complex accompaniment. The accompaniment is set for one verse in the original Huron language, two verses in French and three verses in English. The Huron Carol, Jesous Ahatonhia, is the first Canadian Christmas carol and possibly the first of the New World. The words in the Huron language are believed to have been written by Father Jean de Brebeuf, a Jesuit missionary who lived among the Hurons from 1626 to 1649.
