Piano Solo - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1438013 By Louis Armstrong. By Bob Thiele and George David Weiss. Arranged by Timothy Stapay. Broadway,Film/TV,Jazz,Musical/Show,Singer/Songwriter,Standards. Score. 6 pages. Timothy Stapay #1018085. Published by Timothy Stapay (A0.1438013). When it comes to timeless classics, few songs can compare to “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong’s Orchestra and Chorus. Released in 1967, this beautiful melody has transcended decades, touching the hearts of millions across the globe. After it was heard in the film Good Morning, Vietnam, it was reissued as a single in 1988, and rose to number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100. Armstrong's recording was inducted to the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999.In a world often plagued by strife and uncertainty, the song serves as a gentle reminder to focus on the positive aspects of life. It urges us to look beyond our differences and embrace the beauty that surrounds us. It celebrates the wonders of nature, the innocence of children, and the power of love, instilling a renewed sense of appreciation for the world we live in.I see trees of green, red roses tooI see them bloom for me and youAnd I think to myself what a wonderful worldI see skies of blue and clouds of whiteThe bright blessed day, the dark sacred nightAnd I think to myself what a wonderful worldThe colors of the rainbow so pretty in the skyAre also on the faces of people going byI see friends shaking hands saying how do you doThey're really saying I love youI hear babies crying, I watch them growThey'll learn much more than I'll never knowAnd I think to myself what a wonderful worldYes I think to myself what a wonderful world.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - SKU: A0.944160 Composed by Michelle Agnes Magalhaes. Contemporary. Score. 17 pages. Michelle Agnes Magalhaes #5989239. Published by Michelle Agnes Magalhaes (A0.944160). ABOUT MOBILE (by Ricardo Descalzo, pianist) Few compositions have impressed me as much in my life as this genius work by the Brazilian composer, pianist and improviser. I remember that when I found it a few years ago I did not give credit to what I was listening and I could not imagine how those sounds were produced without any electronic manipulation. The idea of using cylindrical neodymium magnets inside the piano, shows that there are no limits in the imagination of the composers and that the resources to be used in our instrument are unlimited, even if there is an increasingly frequent number of people in our professional environment who hate these practices. The idea of combining precise writing with improvised fragments seems to me to fit perfectly with the spirit of the work, which was born from the improvisational world of the composer herself. Mobile is a tribute to John Cage (hence the classic screws and washers) and is inspired by the sculpture of Richard Lippold Gemini that, at the same time, served as inspiration for the Sonatas XIV and XV of the American composer. Mobile evokes an imaginary metal sculpture, a sound automaton and its cyclic movements. The result is a gorgeous universe of bells, ghostly echoes and distant ritual drums. Mobile is an essential part of my concert programs since it entered my life and one of the pieces that every year I work with my students in Musikene. I’m sure that it will become a classic of new piano music. I can only say: thanks, Michelle for creating something so beautiful, so original and so pleasant to play.

Published by Timothy Stapay (A0.1490922). Vincent (Starry, Starry Night) is a song by Don McLean, written as a tribute to Vincent van Gogh.McLean wrote the lyrics in 1971 after reading a book about the life of Van Gogh. It was released on McLean's 1971 American Pie album; the following year, the song topped the UK Singles Chart for two weeks, and peaked at No. 12 in the United States, where it also hit No. 2 on the Easy Listening chart. Billboard ranked it as the No. 94 song for 1972.Lyrics:StarryStarry nightPaint your palette blue and greyLook out on a summer's dayWith eyes that know theDarkness in my soul.Shadows on the hillsSketch the trees and the daffodilsCatch the breeze and the winter chillsIn colors on the snowy linen land. And now I understand what you tried to say to meHow you suffered for your sanityHow you tried to set them free. They would not listenThey did not know howPerhaps they'll listen now.StarryStarry nightFlaming flo'rs that brightly blazeSwirling clouds in violet haze reflect inVincent's eyes of China blue.Colors changing hueMorning fields of amber grainWeathered faces lined in painAre soothed beneath the artist'sLoving hand. And now I understand what you tried to say to meHow you suffered for your sanityHow you tried to set them free.Perhaps they'll listen now.For they could not love youBut still your love was trueAnd when no hope was left in sight on that starryStarry night. You took your lifeAs lovers often do;But I could have told youVincentThis world was neverMeant for oneAs beautiful as you.StarryStarry nightPortraits hung in empty hallsFrameless heads on nameless wallsWith eyesThat watch the world and can't forget.Like the stranger that you've metThe ragged men in ragged clothesThe silver thorn of bloody roseLie crushed and brokenOn the virgin snow. And now I think I know what you tried to say to meHow you suffered for your sanityHow you tried to set them free. They would not listenThey're notList'ning stillPerhaps they never will.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - SKU: A0.873027 Composed by Sally Whitwell. Contemporary. Score. 5 pages. Sally Whitwell #3867219. Published by Sally Whitwell (A0.873027). At the end of July 2016, I was in my hometown Canberra for a job interview. I was sick as a dog with laryngitis for the interview and audition. Imagine me trying to take a choir rehearsal with no voice? It was never going to happen for me and I was feeling pretty sorry for myself. Halfway back to Sydney on the bus, I get a text from my dear friend Emma. I don’t remember the exact words, but the gist of it was No easy way to say this. We lost Jeff today. Jeff being Emma’s beloved husband and all round awesome human. It was truly devastating. I didn’t know what to do. I felt terribly guilty for thinking of myself and my employment failure all day instead of thinking of Emma and Jeff, even though that was completely irrational. Didn’t want to call because I knew she’d have enough stuff to deal with. Couldn’t turn around cos Public Transport. Had lost the ability to formulate sentences because in that situation, there are no words. So I fell back into the place where I express most clearly. Music. And into my native habitat, the piano. Passacaglia came flowing out very quickly. I hardly stopped to edit. Normally I would try to plan a composition a bit, so that it’s structurally sound. I didn’t do that but somehow it just emerged fully formed. I sent it to Emma who asked if I could come and perform it at the memorial service. But I couldn’t make it to the memorial. And you know what the saddest thing is? I can’t even now remember why, which means it can’t have actually been that important. Instead I created an electronic file of the piece, with more sounds than just piano. I hope it worked ok. Emma told me later that after the funeral when she suddenly found herself alone, she just played it over and over again on repeat. So I guess it did its job, but now it’s ready to make its own way in the world in its original version for solo piano. I hope it can bring some solace to others in grief

Score. 4 pages. Timothy Stapay #790514. Published by Timothy Stapay (A0.1190986). This is an arrangement of A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes from the Walt Disney movie Cinderella. It is written in a happy rhythmic style. This style of piano performance is often used by piano players at Disney World, to entertain the guests. Now you can learn to play this beloved classic song, in the same style as the famous Disney pianists.A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes is a song written and composed by Mack David, Al Hoffman and Jerry Livingston for the Walt Disney film Cinderella (1950). In the song, Cinderella (voiced by Ilene Woods) encourages her animal friends to never stop dreaming, and that theme continues throughout the entire story. The song was inspired off of Franz Liszt’s Transcendental Etude No. 9 (Ricordanza).See the lyrics below:A dream is a wish your heart makesWhen you're fast asleepIn dreams you will loose your heartacheWhatever you wish for, you keepHave faith in your dreams and somedayYour rainbow will come smiling throughNo matter how your heart is grievingIf you keep on believingThe dream that you wish will come trueOh, that clock!Oh, killjoyI hear you, come on, get up you sayTime to start another dayEven he orders me aroundWell, there's one thingThey can't order me to stop dreamingAnd perhaps somedayThe dreams that I wish will come trueNo matter how your heart is grievingIf you keep on believingThe dream that you wish will come true

Piano Solo - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1127867 Composed by Philip Le Bas. Chamber,Classical,Folk,Multicultural,World. Score. 9 pages. Philip Le Bas #728476. Published by Philip Le Bas (A0.1127867). Incidental music composed for piano in four parts by Philip Le Bas to accompany the Japanese folk tale (ghost story) Yuki-Onna (Snow Woman). This work developed out of a cross-cultural project initiated at Morley College, London, in early 2019, aiming to create a melodrama for piano solo and spoken voice to be performed in northern Japan later in the year by young students of the piano. It is based on the ghost-story above, which is widely known in Japan. The tale was transcribed and published by Lafcadio Hearn (Koizumi Yakumo) in 1904 as part of his book “Kwaidan: Stories and Studies of Strange Thingsâ€, a collection that has been highly influential in expressing popular Japanese culture over the past century. Synopsis of the tale of Yuki-Onna: Two wood-cutters, Mosaku and his apprentice Minokichi, encounter a terrible snow-storm and take shelter in an empty hut by a river. The storm gets worse and worse, but they both finally fall asleep. When Minokichi wakes, he sees a woman all in white bending over Mosaku breathing bright white smoke onto his face. She then approaches Minokichi. She is very beautiful, but her eyes make him afraid. After a while she says, “I intended to do the same to you as I did to the old man, but I feel pity for you because you are a pretty young man. If you ever tell anybody what you have seen, however, I will kill you too.†And she vanishes into the snow storm. It is then that Minokichi discovers Mosaku dead on the floor of the hut. Years later Minokichi meets a beautiful girl, who calls herself O-Yuki. He falls in love with her and they live together in his house, along with his mother, who fortunately takes a liking to her new “honourable daughter-in-law.†Over the years O-Yuki gives birth to ten children and the villagers all agree that she is a wonderful person. But she is somehow different from them, as she continues to look young and fresh, despite the passing years. Minokichi often thinks of telling O-Yuki about the events of years ago, and eventually, as he is gazing at her beauty one night, he can resist it no more. He begins to tell her about the snow storm and the terrifying snow-woman. To his horror O-Yuki becomes more and more angry, and she finally says: “It was me, it was me,… and I said I would kill you if you ever told anyone! But for these children asleep here, I would do so this very moment! You had better take very good care of them; for if ever they have reason to complain of you, I will treat you as you deserve!†As she screams at him her voice becomes thin, like the crying of the wind, and she melts into a bright white mist spiraling into the roof-beams. At that moment it starts to snow, but O-Yuki is never seen again.
