Published by Philip Kim (A0.1512670). This is the third arrangement from a series of piano concertos for solo piano. The first two are Beethoven's Emperor Concerto and Rachmaninoff's second concerto. Chopin's concertos always sounded like a grandiose piano sonata to me. The orchestration isn't as complex as Beethoven's and Rachmaninoff's. But it didn't mean it was easy to transcribe. I think the transcription turned out well. Already a challenging piece, a solo version is more. The beautiful Romance of the second movement is worth learning it. This excerpt is presented in a-minor initially, and then the original key of b-minor follows allowing the pianist to choose whichever one is easier for them to read. Every attempt was made to present a fusion of the orchestral and piano parts into a short piano solo suitable for a recital or incidental music. Although Rachmaninoff was only 17 or 18 years old when he wrote the concerto, his essential style is present even at this age.

Eighth-notes, quarter-notes, dotted quarter-notes, half-notes and whole notes.Technique:Left hand accompaniment arpeggios with crossing fingerings are introduced. Flats and sharps are mixed. This andante espressivo from the first movement of Schumann's piano concerto is one of the most beloved passages of 19th century music. The orchestra parts have been seamlessly integrated into the solo piano part. Although the suggested pedaling may appear needlessly specific, it is a realistic example of pedaling that a professional might use. Phrasing, dynamics and some fingerings are also included. An intermediate pianist would be able to perform this piece easily, as the septuplets and awkward jumps have been modified without diminishing the quality and content of the passage. It is a fitting recital piece, able to stand on it's own as a solo and is in the original key of A-flat.
