This is my first original album, a soft piano album about the day of the week ‘Sunday’. Initially, I didn’t set out to write a full album, the piece ‘Sunrise’ ignited that idea after I wrote it. After writing that piece I decided to write more tracks and compile an album. I decided to write a total of 10 tracks, each reflecting on a different time during Sunday. The album begins with the sunrise which is the first track. You’ll notice that the whole album is in order from the beginning to the end of the day. After the sunrise it is morning and the frost begins to melt from the suns warmth in the air. Moving toward midday some light rain passes through followed by a thunderstorm then comes the afternoon, and the warm air. Finally, the day comes to an end as the sun sets on the horizon and then the stars revel themselves in the night sky.This album is meant to be a relaxing, peaceful album to listen to while you read, study, work, drive, or anything else you might do with music on in the background. I really enjoyed writing each track and it was a lot of fun to write a different piece about each part of Sunday. I hope that you enjoy listening to or learning these pieces and that they bring a little more peacefulness into your life.

This is an original tune and was inspired by a walk I had with my wife and daughter in Saltburn, a seaside resort just a few miles from where I live. It's a happy feel good tune. The sheet music is for piano solo and it shows the tune more clearly than the YouTube video as a stride piano/ragtime piece with a swing bass left hand.I take it through 3 keys of C, Db and D major. As usual the left hand can be simplified by playing any 10ths as single notes or octaves. Bass notes can often be played an octave higher to lessen the distance stretched. I don't notate dynamics, pedal or fingering as I prefer to leave such issues to the discretion of the individual pianist. Teachers, in any event, can never agree on these things. Also please be aware this is a piano solo and doesn't include notation for the other instruments in my YouTube video. I write all my tunes as piano solos and they are perfect in this format so will have a full sound throughout.I hope you have as much fun playing this tune as I did writing and arranging it.

As years come and go, one increasingly recalls memories of earlier times. One of the most vivid and cherished memories I have while growing up is of Sunday mornings, going to church, sitting in the same pew each week with my grandmother, hearing and singing the beautiful hymns of our faith, and then returning home to the aroma of beef slowly roasting in the oven. My father directed the church choir, my mother and older brothers sang in the choir, so the wonderful music of our faith was instilled in me from an early age. This medley, and others in the series, are arrangements of many of my favorite hymns from those early years, many of which have been lost in more recent editions. A caveat: I have no delusions, and offer no pretenses, that these settings are great art. They are simply expressions of faith which I hope may bring a small measure of joy and comfort to other technically challenged yet serviceable pianists such as myself. The general concept of each medley is to present the hymn, often in its original chorale form, and then vary its harmony or texture. The hymns in this set include Break Thou the Bread of Life, Come, Ye Thankful People, Come, and We Gather Together.

Published by Raluca Bojor (A0.1089944). This is the prefect piano hymn arrangement to play on Pentecost Sunday (or any other Sunday, for that matter). In this text, the author invites the Holy Spirit to transform her life by opening her eyes, her mouth, her ears. Each stanza ends with “illumine me, Spirit divine!†May that be our motto every day of our lives! The piano arrangement is structured in three sections (one style for each verse). In the first section the hands stay close to the middle register and the voicing is modest. And the oom-pah-pah rhythms will give it a light bounce that will bring a smile to whoever plays or listens. On the second verse the hands move to a higher register where the music suddenly becomes more delicate. Think of a music box! Lastly, on the third verse we pull all the stops! This medley, and others in the series, are arrangements of many of my favorite hymns from those early years, many of which have been lost in more recent editions. For this series, I have mostly elected to use the older texts as that is the way they were first written and the way I first learned them. (*See below for more comment on the texts in this set.) There is a reverence and beauty in the language enriching the vocal tone which, I believe, is lost in contemporary, conversational, or politically correct syntax. I shudder to think of the day when a penitential phrase such as Hear thou my prayer, O Lord is rendered as Hey, God-dude, listen up - I'm talkin' atcha! I have also opted not to include the many wonderful hymns and carols which are associated with the major festivals of Christmas and Easter as those are commonly found in other collections. A caveat: I have no delusions, and I offer no pretenses, that these settings are great art. They are simply expressions of faith which I hope may bring a small measure of joy to other church musicians. The general concept of each medley is to present the hymn, often in its original chorale form, and then vary its harmony or texture. The hymns in this set are Children of the Heavenly Father, Day by Day, Thy Holy Wings, and Beautiful Savior. This collection of arrangements is also available for SATB voices and piano or piano solo.*A note on the texts in this set: Having grown up in a Swedish Lutheran church, the grandson of Swedish/Norwegian immigrants, and currently being choir director of another Swedish Lutheran church, these hymns have a special place for me. This medley of hymns was originally arranged for my church choir with the first verse of each in Swedish. Being under copyright, permission was obtained to use the more familiar English translations of the first three songs for local use. For this edition, I have opted to create my own texts for the first and third hymns while the second hymn is a translation in public domain. I have also provided a verse in English in lieu of the Swedish for those Nordically challenged. The fourth hymn is not a Swedish melody but for obvious reasons is a mainstay of the Lutheran hymnal. Like the other hymns, the first verse is in Swedish while the other traditional verses are also public domain.
