A piano solo arrangement of Yesterday Once More; made famous by The Carpenters. Yesterday Once More, written by Richard Carpenter and John Bettis, is a hit song by the Carpenters from their 1973 album Now & Then. Thematically the song concerns reminiscing about songs of a generation gone by. It segues into a long medley, consisting of eight covers of 1960s tunes incorporated into a faux oldies radio program. The work takes up the entire B-side of the album.The single version of the song peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, kept from the number 1 spot by Bad, Bad Leroy Brown by Jim Croce. It was the duo's fifth number two hit and makes them the act with the second-most number two hits on the chart behind Madonna. The song also peaked at number 1 on the easy listening chart, becoming their eighth number 1 on that chart in four years.  It is the Carpenters' biggest-selling record worldwide and their best-selling single in the UK, peaking at number 2 Richard Carpenter stated, on a Japanese documentary, that it was his favorite of all the songs that he had written. Just A-Wearyin' For You is a piano solo arrangement of the 1901 hit pop song by Carrie Jacobs-Bond, which was originally a ballad for voice and piano. This 12 bar melody was once the most famous tune in the world. Â I have kept that tune intact but set it to a flowing accompaniment that is part Classical and part New Age. Â Because the melody was so short I created an extended bridge between the verses. Â I didn't want anything to compete with that beautiful first section, so I created a solo Left Hand countermelody for the bridge. Â An expressive piece of sheer beauty from beginning to end. Â 2 page score; 2:40 minutesThis piece is also found in my book, Carrie Jacobs-Bond, Popular Songs 1900-1925, a collection of 51 of her songs I have arranged for piano solo, which is also available on this site.

This piano solo based on Hadyn's theme has an optimistic and jolly character. It is presented in the key of C and then in the original key of E-flat. One of my high school students just couldn't handle three flats, so I transposed the piece into C at his request:). Also, most students are a little confused by the concept of transposition and this presentation could help alleviate this issue for many students.

Warsaw Concerto is arranged as performed by legendary pianist, Liberace. This is the same version that he performed on his t.v. show and in concerts in Las Vegas and around the world.  Now for the first time; you can learn to play this awesome and dramatic music in the same flamboyant style as Liberace!The Warsaw Concerto is a short work for piano and orchestra by Richard Addinsell, written for the 1941 British film Dangerous Moonlight, which is about the Polish struggle against the 1939 invasion by Nazi Germany. In performance it normally lasts just under ten minutes. The concerto is an example of programme music, representing both the struggle for Warsaw and the romance of the leading characters in the film. It became very popular in Britain during World War II.The concerto is written in imitation of the style of Sergei Rachmaninoff.The composer, Richard Addinsell, was born in London and initially studied law before turning to a career in music. His time at the Royal College of Music was brief, as he was soon drawn to musical theatre, and he also wrote for radio, but his most memorable contributions are to a series of film scores beginning in 1936. He wrote the music for the 1939 film Goodbye, Mr. Chips, the original movie, Gaslight.Władziu Valentino Liberace(May 16, 1919 – February 4, 1987) was an American pianist, singer, and actor. He was born in Wisconsin to parents of Italian and Polish origin and enjoyed a career spanning four decades of concerts, recordings, television, motion pictures, and endorsements. At the height of his fame from the 1950s to 1970s, he was the highest-paid entertainer in the world!

Famously used in the 1967 film Elvira Madigan, hence the nickname, the Elvira Madigan concerto, Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21 was completed soon after his 20th in 1785. There are 5 different arrangements for solo piano, each getting progressively harder and trying not to compromise on sound where possible: Level 1: Just over a minute long, this is the easiest version. Both hands are very simple and are very close together, making it easier to see what all the fingers are doing at the same time. No jumps greater than a fifth and no large chords, making it perfect for smaller hands. Level 2: Two version provided: the first just over a minute long; the second the complete length of the movement, minus the orchestra introduction. Again, the melody has been simplified, though harder than level 1, with an increased coverage of the piano. The accompaniment is either static chords (now triads as standard) or broken arpeggios. It now has jumps in the right hand of just over an octave, with the left hand moving relatively little between chords/arpeggios. Level 3: This version has an optional cut, otherwise is the complete second movement, minus the orchestral introduction. It is dramatic and tender at the same time as the piano solo parts contrast evocatively with the orchestral parts to create one of the most atmospheric slow movements by Ludwig van Beethoven. The solo piano part starts in minor, and has a melancholy that is so poignant. The second phrase appears and it is in major for a just a moment before it returns to minor. This piece is a wonderful experience to play this piano and orchestral piece as a piano soloist. Enjoy.
