Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1206177 Composed by George Frideric Handel. Arranged by Martin Neill. Baroque. Score. 2 pages. Martin Neill #804374. Published by Martin Neill (A0.1206177). Justly famous, this is beautiful music. It’s often difficult to play orchestral music on the piano – we have to perform all the parts, not just one. Which is why this piece is harder than it looks, particularly the right hand. Try my suggested fingerings, but you might need to adapt them to suit you.

Piano Solo - Advanced Intermediate - Digital Download Composed by S Rachmaninoff. Arranged by Grant Horsley. Movies, Repertoire, Valentine's Day, Wedding, Recital. Sheet Music Single. 15 pages. Published by Grant Horsley Music
Originally for piano and orchestra, I have carefully arranged the beautiful romantic themes of this piece for solo piano. I have combined the orchestral textures with the piano solo to bring them together as a cohesive piece. There is no stretches greater than an octave, and the part is heavily reduced from the original-but the piece still falls into advanced intermediate as I have kept the passion (just less notes!) Each section could easily be used as a separate piece.
The full score is 11 pages and it is nearly10 minutes long- for full suitability on level of difficulty, the youtube link provide the full score- I wanted to give opportunities for pianists to play an easier version of this fabulous piece. I made the recording live on a digital piano, with technology to enhance.
Great for valentine's day, weddings, anniversaries, romantic events, it's a firm favourite with lots of people as the themes are so memorable- just fantastic to play.Originally for piano and orchestra, I have carefully arranged the beautiful romantic themes of this piece for solo piano. Fairy-tale Opera in three acts. Composed by Engelbert Humperdinck (1854-1921). This edition: vocal/piano score. Klavierauszug, Marchen, Oper. Downloadable. Duration 120 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q16445. Published by Schott Music - Digital
German - English.

For the first time, all available sources of Engelbert Humperdinck's fairy-tale opera, Hansel und Gretel, have been consulted in the preparation of the present new edition. In evaluating them it became clear that a great number of corrections needed to be taken into account, for which the composer was indebted to the experiences of conductors known to him - Richard Strauss (Weimar), Hermann Levi (Munich) and Ludwig Rottenberg (Frankfurt) - as well as hiw own insight. In this way, a critical edition has been produced which not only offers an Urtext entirely faithful to the sources, but also provides important new improvements, tested on the stage an approved by the composer. Where, previously, slight alterations have unquestionably been necessary in order to prevent the vocal lines from being covered by the large-scale orchestration, convincing and authentic solutions are now available. Also, for the first time, the work's 'Desau-Finale' has been published, which Humperdinck composed for the production by Cosima Wagner.

The edition is part of the ABRSM syllabus (grades 6,8).German - English.

For the first time, all available sources of Engelbert Humperdinck's fairy-tale opera, Hansel und Gretel, have been consulted in the preparation of the present new edition. Piano Solo - Advanced Intermediate - Digital Download Composed by Claude Debussy/Robert Orledge. 20th Century, Impressionistic, Repertoire. Score. 76 pages. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing
Contains Le Roi Lear: Prélude,Première Fanfare, and La Mort de Cordélia,Toomai des éléphants, Rodrigue et Chimène: Prélude à l’acte 1p. Le Martyre de Saint Sébastien: La Passion , and No-ja-li ou Le Palais du Silence

From Robert Orledge's notes:

My interest in the wonderful music of Claude Debussy began in the 1980s when I researched and published a book with Cambridge University Press entitled Debussy and the Theatre. During the course of my studies in Paris, I was amazed to discover that Debussy planned over 50 theatrical works but only finished two of these entirely by himself (the opera Pelléas et Mélisande in 1893–1902 and the ballet Jeux for Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes in 1912–13). Of the rest, many were never started musically (like Siddartha and Orphée-roi with the Oriental scholar Victor Segalen, 1907); some had a few tantalising sketches (like the Edgar Allan Poe opera Le Diable dans le beffroi, 1902–03); some were half-finished (like his other Poe opera La Chute de la Maison Usher, 1908–17); while others were musically complete but had their orchestrations completed by other composers (like Khamma, by Charles Koechlin, 1912–13; or Le Martyre de Saint Sébastien and La Boîte à joujoux by his ‘angel of corrections’ [‘l’ange des Corrections’] André Caplet in 1911 and 1919 respectively).

For it has to be admitted that what some scholars call Debussy’s ‘compulsive achievement’ could equally well be viewed as laziness, especially as far as the minute detail required for calligraphing his orchestral scores was concerned. It was as if creating the music itself was of greater importance than controlling its final sound, even if Debussy was an imaginative orchestrator when he found the time and energy to do it. It also seems true that Debussy also preferred inventing ideas to turning them into complete pieces. However, despite the lack of detail in many of his sketches (missing clefs, key signatures, dynamics, phrasing, etc.) the notes themselves are surprisingly accurate, whether or not they can be compared with a later draft. Thus, a large number of sketches exist for his Chinese ballet No-ja-li ou Le Palais du Silence and it is not too difficult to see which parts of Georges de Feure’s 1913 scenario (see below) inspired which ideas. But Debussy hardly made any attempt to join them together after the first few bars.

It was usually up to his publisher, Jacques Durand, to find solutions when Debussy risked a breach of contract. Debussy was supposed to supervise the orchestrations completed by others, but this supervision was usually very light and restricted to quiet, sensitive moments in which problems were easier to spot. Far from jealously guarding every one of his created notes, as Ravel did, Debussy once even went as far as to ask Koechlin to ‘write a ballet for him that he would sign’ on 26 March 1914 when he was hard-pressed to fulfil his lucrative contract for No-ja-li with André Charlot at the Alhambra Theatre in London. In the end, Debussy (through Durand) sent Charlot the symphonic suite Printemps instead, whose orchestration had been completed by Henri Busser in the Spring of 1912.

So, when I was offered early retirement as Professor of Music at Liverpool University in 2004, I seized the opportunity it would give me to spend time trying to reconstruct some of Debussy’s lost potential masterpieces from his existing sketches and drafts—then orchestrating them in Debussy’s style when this was appropriate. I had begun this mission in 2001 with the most promising project, the missing parts of Scene 2 of La Chute de la Maison Usher and the sheer joy it gave me at every stage persuaded me to tackle other projects, especially when Debussy experts were unable to identify exactly where I took over from Debussy (and vice versa) in Usher.Contains Le Roi Lear: Prélude,Première Fanfare, and La Mort de Cordélia,Toomai des éléphants, Rodrigue et Chimène: Prélude à l’acte 1p. Dirk Chan Music Pty Ltd #761567. Published by Dirk Chan Music Pty Ltd (A0.1161232). Bach Air on the G String from Orchestral Suite No.3 in D Major BWV 1068 arrangement for piano solo is a wonderful piece full of serenity. It is one of the most well loved works of Johann Sebastian Bach. It feels romantic and has poise and tenderness, so characteristic of the slow movements of Bach. The gorgeous melody is accompanied by a basso continuo accompaniment that almost like the heartbeat of this piece. You can also see my performance video of this arrangement. This arrangement for solo piano is a wonderful way to experience this piece as a soloist. Enjoy.

THE HEART JUGGLER (Original Piano Music) from “CHINA LOVEâ€Composed by ROBERT VAN HORNE in 1993Advanced Piano Solo Arrangement8 pages Duration approximately 4 minutesTHE HEART JUGGLER was originally inspired in 1983 when a friend of mine told me about a dream she had one night. In her dream she was at a carnival where a clown was juggling little heart-shaped sculptures. Many years later during my time in Singapore, I remembered her dream and with my knowledge of Eastern music, I composed THE HEART JUGGLER. This piece was featured on my first USA piano album: CHINA LOVE. It was selected and featured in the MTAC Composer Today Awards. The sheet music is clearly notated with dynamic and articulation marks, phrasing, pedal indications, chord symbols, including suggested fingerings and appropriate musical terms for playing. This is a wonderful arrangement for advanced students, professional pianists, and piano teachers. An original 2009 YouTube video of Robert performing THE HEART JUGGLER can be found at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yJezmb0uzQThe mp3 recording of THE HEART JUGGLER was recorded in 2006 with an acoustic piano and digital orchestral instruments. It was used as the 3rd movement (Vivace e misterioso) of Robert’s GREAT WALL CONCERTO having a different ending. Published by White Piano International PublishingRobert is a member of ASCAPWebsite: www.robertvanhorne.com Email: rvh@robertvanhorne.com.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.800631 Composed by Gustav Holst. Arranged by Richard Simm. 20th Century. Score. 10 pages. Richard Simm #2033293. Published by Richard Simm (A0.800631). The title of Holst's short comic opera, The Perfect Fool is intended as a joke based on Wagner's Parsifal (The Blameless Fool), and this delightfully kaleidoscopic ballet music shows the composer's brilliant orchestral mastery. This is a technically-difficult solo piano transcription by Richard Simm for ambitious pianists, and captures the infinite variety, humor, excitement, exquisite delicacy and raucous violence of Holst's score.

Composed by S Rachmaninoff. Arranged by Grant Horsley. Romantic Period, Movies, Repertoire, Wedding, Recital. Sheet Music Single. 12 pages. Published by Grant Horsley Music
Originally for piano and orchestra and notably used in the film "Brief Encounter" I have carefully arranged the beautiful romantic themes of this piece for solo piano. Great for valentine's day, weddings, anniversaries, romantic events, it's a firm favourite with lots of people as the themes are so memorable- just fantastic to play.Originally for piano and orchestra and notably used in the film "Brief Encounter" I have carefully arranged the beautiful romantic themes of this piece for solo piano.
