The Jarabe tapato, often referred to as the Mexican hat dance, is the national dance of Mexico. It originated as a courtship dance in Guadalajara, Jalisco, during the 19th century, although its elements can be traced back to the Spanish zambra and jarabe gitano, which were popular during the times of the viceroyalty. Female dancers traditionally wear a china poblana outfit, while the male dancers dress as charros.The standard music of the jarabe tapato was composed by Jess Gonzlez Rubio in the 19th century

Sway is arranged in a bolero-mambo song style. The song was written by Mexican composers Luis Demetrio and Pablo Beltrán Ruiz. Beltrán recorded the song for the first time with his orchestra in 1953. Pedro Infante, for whom the song was written, recorded it in 1954.Norman Gimbel took the song, removed the somewhat melancholy Spanish lyrics about a man wondering if he shall ever love again, and wrote brand-new English lyrics about a man praising his dancing partner's ability to affect his heart with how she sways when they dance. This new song, titled Sway, has become a standard in the pop repertoire. The first version to achieve considerable success in the United States was recorded by singer Dean Martin with the Dick Stabile orchestra in 1954.This song is about dancing, and being infatuated with your dance partner - Martin sings that when they sway together on the dance floor she is all he sees.

There I discovered composers like Agustin Lara, Jose Alfredo Jimenez, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and Astor Piazzolla. Despite not speaking Spanish fluently, I'm captivated by the language's musicality.This passion inspired me to compose Latin-style songs in the early 1990s, culminating in my album “FOREVER AMOR,” and later recording the music in 2016 for Piano, Violin and Bass. This rhumba-style piece, GOODBYE LOVE, carries a delightful dance-like quality with its moderate tempo. Written in the key of G major and later transitioning to A-flat major, it evokes a sense of peace and tranquility amidst the certainty and decisiveness that come with the end of a relationship.Similar to numerous other tracks on the album, it suggests the potential for weaving the end of a love affair by incorporating imaginary Spanish words.The sheet music for GOODBYE LOVE is clearly notated, featuring detailed instructions on dynamics, articulation, phrasing, pedal usage, chord symbols, suggested fingerings, and relevant musical terminology.While the mp3 sample includes violin and bass, the sheet music is for solo piano, suitable for intermediate to advanced players and instructors.
