Published by Music Innovators Workshop (A0.984700). This is a piano arrangement of the Toccata portion of the famous Toccata and Fugue in D minor. It is notated on a key map tablature. Additionally, this wonderful piece has been simplified by removing some notes, but it has not been shortened. In this arrangement, it is still a wonderful piece for those who have not yet gained the skill to play the full piano arrangement. This piece is notated on a vertically oriented tablature called a key map. Key maps are intended to SHOW you (visually) which keys to play by matching (mapping) the locations of the keys on the keyboard. >>> The group of 12 keys from Middle C up to B form what we call the green Octave Group. (There are 7 of these identical groups on the piano distinguished by their colors and locations.) The key map staff is based on an octave group of the keyboard. For each key map octave group, the 5 vertical lines of the staff stand for the 5 matching black KEYS. >>> Staff lines ARE SPACED to match the horizontal spacing of the black keys on the keyboard The notes for black keys are placed ON these staff lines. The notes for the white keys are placed BETWEEN the lines. >>> The notes of a key map move to the left and right to indicate change in PITCH and down the page to indicate the passing of TIME (rhythm). This melodic configuration is repeated at bars 74-81. From measures 82-94, the overall sound intensity decreases, as well as the slowing of the speed. The NUMES collection contains: * Sonatina * Sonata * Toccata * Intermezzo * Postlude * Quatro Cânticos sem Palavras [Four Canticles without Words] * Fantasia. The scores are elegantly and accurately typed. The notation, from the positioning of the notes, passing through the direction of the stems, and reaching legatos that do not cross staves and barlines, seeks to be clear and intuitive. The form is evidenced by the bar numbering placed at the beginning of the main phrases. And the use of double barlines is restricted to section changes, not tonal changes, as in older notations. Dynamics are not structuring and therefore are not prefixed. And each score is preceded by an epigraph that situates the general character of the music, whose tempo is indicated by the name of the Divinity.

I am a Singaporean pianist and composer. I have studied the piano since 5 years old under Mr Joseph Toh and I graduated from LASALLE College of the Arts with a Diploma in Music in 2013, majoring in Music Composition under Malaysian composer Mr Chong Kee Yong and Singaporean composer Mrs Joyce Koh Bee Tuan.About The Devil's EtudeI composed this etude for piano solo in October 2019. I was inspired by a few piano master pieces. They are mainly Robert Schumann’s Toccata in C, Op. 7, Franz Liszt’s Transcendental Etudes no. 5 (Feux Follets) and also Ligeti’s L'Escalier du diable. I also quoted the Gregorian chant Dies Irae and varied it in the middle section of this piece. ** There is an error in the metronome marking in the second section. It should be Allegretto (1 quaver beat= 70) and NOT (1 crotchet beat = 70).The Devil's Etude is dedicated to my friend Chan Shu Hui.

These Four Canticles without Words are part of the NUMES collection, consisting of 7 works about 15 Hellenic deities. The four canticles were written for the left hand: 1. Hestia 2. Mnemosyne 3. Kleio 4. Khronos. The NUMES collection contains: * Sonatina * Sonata * Toccata * Intermezzo * Postlude * Four Canticles without Words * Fantasia. Scores are typed elegantly and accurately. The notation, from the positioning of the notes, passing through the direction of the stems, and arriving at legatos that do not cross staves and measures, seeks to be clear and intuitive. The form is evidenced by the bar numbering placed at the beginning of the main phrases. And the use of double bars is restricted to section changes, not tonal changes as in older notations. Dynamics are not structuring and therefore are not prefixed. And each score is preceded by an epigraph that situates the general character of the music, whose tempo is indicated by the name of the Divinity.

Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.1335536). Hommage to Ursula is a piano piece in memory of Ursula Görsch (1932-2023). The piece is based on the six sounding letters of her last name (GERSCH, where the O is omitted, the R represents RE - the D note in Spanish, Italian, or Turkish - and the S represents the E flat, 'Es' in German), as well as on the remaining six notes of the total chromatic scale (C#, F, F#, Ab, A, B). Both Pitch Class Sets are identical from an intervallic perspective - transposed by a tritone. Such coincidences confirm to me that I am on the right path, at least musically.The reference to Turkey is not coincidental, as Ursula taught in Istanbul for many years.The initial texture of the piece - a kind of toccata with many repeated notes - is a purely musical homage to Ursula: she used this texture in some passages of her compositions. Besides that, this piece contains no direct quotation from Ursula's music.The work Hommage an Ursula is based on a series of 12 notes. The original version (Prime) and the inverted version (Inversed) alternate. From these 24 versions of the series, 24 sections result. I add a final section based on the original series ('Das Ende im Anfange'*); thus, there are 25 sections.To order the 5 motivic elements, I generate a Latin square. The 5 elements do not rotate, but, in each of the 5 main sections, the initial motive is always the same (A), and the order of the other four (BCDE) changes, permutating according to the following Latin square:A BCDEA CEBDA DBECA EDCBA BCDEThis work can then be considered as a derivation of the 'theme and variations' structure, with the peculiarity that there are five sub-themes that are rearranged in each of the variations.This piece lasts about 11 minutes. The premiere, performed by the composer (that is, by myself), took place on November 26, 2023, at the Konzertsaal of the Hochschule für Künste in Bremen, during the concert 'Gedenkkonzert Ursula Görsch und Harald Kruse', as part of the 73rd Hausmusikwoche, organized by the DTKV (German Association of Sound Artists) in cooperation with the ABK (Circle of Composers in Bremen).This is not an easy piece to listen to. It is absolutely consistent but perhaps monotonous. During the premiere, the yawns of someone in the audience prompted me to briefly interrupt the performance to inform them that the end was near. After the concert, one of the organizers suggested to me that the piece was too 'anstrengend' (demanding, exhausting).
