Published by Juan Carlos Guerra Gonzalez (A0.1101275). 2 pianos Study Score of Tapayawi The following description is from the full score: Tapayawi - Concerto for Piano and Strings Orchestra in 3 movements.Estimated performance time: 19'45 Tapayawi†comes from Nahuatl and means “rain constantly.†Each one of the movements portrays a scene with rain in different environments. The work has 3 short movements and is dedicated to Dr. Esteban Barquero, a conductor and dear friend from Costa Rica. The first movement “Bajo la lluvia†(Under the Rain) represents the juvenile experience of doing different activities under the rain like playing, running, and dancing. I have memorable memories of my childhood under the intense rain. The experience of being in the rain can be funny or stressful depending on your perspective. The music pretends to be ambiguous, presenting the theme in different tonal centers and moving between different intensities until fading in the rain.“Rocio†(Dew) is the second movement of the piece. The slow music pretends to evoke a relaxing morning in the countryside enjoying the view of the dew on the green plains. The delicacy of the piano in combination with the warmth of the strings will help to create a relaxing experience for the listener. This movement is like an oasis to the noise of our daily lives.The third movement “Tempestad†(Tempest) is based on a Salvadoran Traditional Rhythm called “Xuc†As an interesting fact, while I was composing this movement I learned that Costa Rica had a traditional rhythm that is very similar called “Tambito.†The movement is full of energy, portraying a Thunderstorm. This movement is very demanding for the performers, especially for the soloist. He then taught piano there himself from 1885 until 1918, whilst also serving as conductor of the Mariinsky Theatre until 1911.This theatre saw the premieres of the operas composed by his teacher and mentor Rimsky-Korsakov, and he was also the conductor at the Russian premiere of Wagner's opera Tristan und Isolde.In 1908, he conducted the Paris premiere of Modest Mussorgsky's opera Boris Godunov.From 1918 to 1922, he was the director of the Music-drama school of Mykola Lysenko in Kiev, where, amongst others, Vladimir Horowitz was a pupil in his masterclasses. He returned to the Moscow Conservatory in 1922, teaching there until his death. Other famous pupils of his include Simon Barere, Maria Yudina and Maria Grinberg. He died in Moscow.As a pianist, he played many of the compositions of his Russian contemporaries. His compositions, which showed the influence of Frédéric Chopin and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, include a symphony, pieces for solo piano, an Allegro de Concert for piano and orchestra, and lieder. In spite of confusions between his given name and Irène, Bergé was male. He attended the Conservatoire de Paris where he studied with Jules Massenet and Théodore Dubois. Although not mentioned in his obituaries, Berge apparently also was a tenor. In an 1897 performance of Berlioz's L'enfance du Christ, a reviewer noted Irénée Bergé, a young tenor of excellent schooling, whose voice—though not too powerful—had a very agreeable timbre, and a very distinguished [performance]. He and that of the orchestra....had a grand success. Before immigrating to the United States he was an assistant conductor at Covent Garden. At the invitation of Jeannette Thurber Bergé came to New York in 1902 to teach at the National Conservatory of Music of America. Bergé is known for composing many silent film music cues. These were not written for a specific film but as generic pieces appropriate to the mood of the specific scene. He wrote 2 operas.

Bach for Violin Solo, strings and alto solo was now arranged for C instruments and Piano accompaniment. You will be delighted to play this beautiful and satisfying piece of music by J. S. Bach that lifts the spirit and soul. The St Matthew Passion (German: Matthäus-Passion), BWV 244, is a Passion, a sacred oratorio written by Johann Sebastian Bach in 1727 for solo voices, double choir and double orchestra, with libretto by Picander. It sets chapters 26 and 27 of the Gospel of Matthew (in the Luther Bible) to music, with interspersed chorales and arias. It is widely regarded as one of the masterpieces of classical sacred music. The original Latin title Passio Domini nostri J.C. secundum Evangelistam Matthæum translates to The Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ according to the Evangelist Matthew Originally for alto voice, violin solo and string orchestra. The arias are in da capo format (ternary form). Erbarme dich, for alto, and Mache dich, mein Herze, rein, for bass, are examples of such arias in Part Two of the oratorio. In these movements the singers are accompanied by one or a few solo instruments and continuo, occasionally completed by other instrument groups of the orchestra. She completed the department of piano at the Kunitachi College of Music, and the departments of chamber music, eÌcriture musicale and orchestration at the Conservatoire SupeÌrieur de Paris-CNR. She also studied eÌcriture musicale at the CNSM-Lyon. She studied under Profs. Alain Louvier, Bernard de Crépy and other representative professors in France in terms of composition and arrangement. She later completed the conducting biennio department at the Milano Civica Scuola di Musica Claudio Abbado, and in recent years has been the guest conductor at the Japan Croatia Music Society. She travels to various parts of Croatia to research music, visits music research institutes and composers, and strives for understanding. From 26 January 1881 to 20 October 1887, he was conductor of the Wiener akademischer Wagner-Verein (Vienna Academic Wagner Society).In 1887, he declined an invitation from Cosima Wagner to become the music director for the Bayreuth Festival. Musical prohibitions during the 1940s and 1950s meant that the playing of jazz was banned in the USSR, including Azerbaijan. Since there was no opportunity to get jazz records from anywhere, Mustafazade listened to jazz pieces, learning from movies where he heard jazz music and BBC radio and sang Meykhana, rhythmic poetry, which had also been banned. After listening on the radio, he and his friend Vagif Samadoglu attempted to recreate the music on the piano.From the 1960s, prohibitions put on jazz music were gradually lifted and thus the late 1960s and 70s became a time when Baku was a real center of locally inspired jazz. Based on an Armenian Song by Sayat-Nova.Inch Gonim Hekimen is an Armenian song composed by the gifted 18th century poet and musician Harutyun Sayatyan, known as Sayat-Nova (1712-1795). He was a court musician in the ancient kingdom of Georgia and later became a traveling troubadour (ashugh or kousan), singing and playing the 3-stringed kamancha.In this setting, the energetic beginning should be played freely. In Middle Eastern music, a taqsim, or taksim, is a solo improvised introduction often with a background instrument playing a repeated low tone or drone. Here, a drone in the L.H. establishes the key of E minor with octave tremolo. The piano accompaniment settles into a 6/8 rhythm.Constance Shelengian is a music educator, composer, choral conductor, arranger, and performer. She has played guitar/keyboard in Armenian folk ensembles and organ in Armenian churches in New York and Pennsylvania. She is committed to preserving the rich Armenian folk music tradition by arranging and transcribing Armenian songs for piano.
