"Mansions" was originally written for the 2002 film, We Were Soldiers. This is a grade 4 arrangement suitable for a high school or university clarinet choir. There is a 4th clarinet part that takes the place of the alto clarinet. It features a solo in the beginning by the first clarinet. I wrote this arrangement to be played at a Veteran's Day Memorial Performance.

Super Mario Bros was a super popular Nintendo game, but I think the song was even more so. Back in the 80's, game music was written to attract attention to the game itself, rather than enhance the player's experience during the game. It was more or less, just a catchy tune. However, when Koji Kondo wrote the music to Super Mario Bros, he created it as an active part of the game. This idea would help change game music forever.

I feel as if I don't need to give any comments on how to play this piece, but I will say that in the interest of not inundating the sheet music with dots everywhere, this song should be played staccato throughout the piece unless otherwise noted.

This piece has a lot of syncopation, but it is repetitive, so musicians with intermediate skills should be able to play this piece.

Their music video depicts the band in a library,performing and showcasing various aspects of African culture. According to songwriterDavid Paich, the song is about a man?s love for the continent of Africa.

Thisarrangement for clarinet choir includes parts for E-flat clarinet, B-flatclarinets 1, 2, and 3, E-flat alto clarinet, bass clarinet, and contrabassclarinet. Alternate B-flat parts also exist for both E-flat and alto clarinet. Asthe rhythms appear to be tricky at first glance, listening to the original songand learning the lyrics should make playing the piece much easier.
