Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1270160 By Arlo Guthrie. By Arlo Guthrie. Arranged by Craig Hanson. A Cappella,Comedy,Folk. Octavo. 6 pages. Edition Craig Hanson #862589. Published by Edition Craig Hanson (A0.1270160). For TTBB chorus a cappella and solo voice. As performed by Arlo Guthrie.Wanna hear something? You know that Indians never ate clams. They didn't have linguini! And so what happened was that clams was allowed to grow unmolested in the coastal waters of America for millions of years. And they got big, and I ain't talking about clams in general, I'm talking about each clam! Individually. I mean each one was a couple of million years old or older. So imagine they could have got bigger than this whole room. And when they get that big, God gives them little feet so that they could walk around easier. And when they get feet, they get dangerous. I'm talking about real dangerous. I ain't talking about sitting under the water waiting for you. I'm talking about coming after you.Imagine being on one of them boats coming over to discover America, like Columbus or something, standing there at night on watch, everyone else is either drunk or asleep. And you're watching for America and the boat's going up and down. And you don't like it anyhow but you gotta stand there and watch, for what? Only he knows, and he ain't watching. You hear the waves lapping against the side of the ship. The moon is going behind the clouds. You hear the pitter patter of little footprints on deck. ‘Is that you kids?’ It ain't! My god! It's this humongous, giant clam!Imagine those little feet coming on deck. A clam twice the size of the ship. Feet first. You're standing there shivering with fear, you grab one of these. This is a belaying pin. They used to have these stuck in the holes all around the ship… You probably didn't know what this is for; you probably had an idea, but you were wrong. They used to have these stuck in the holes all along the sides of the ship, everywhere. You wouldn't know what this is for unless you was that guy that night.I mean, you'd grab this out of the hole, run on over there, bam bam on them little feet! Back into the ocean would go a hurt, but not defeated, humongous, giant clam. Ready to strike again when opportunity was better. You know not even the coastal villages was safe from them big clams. You know them big clams had an inland range of about 15 miles. Think of that. I mean our early pioneers and the settlers built little houses all up and down the coast you know. A little inland and stuff like that and they didn't have houses like we got now, with bathrooms and stuff. They built little privies out back. And late at night, maybe a kid would have to go, and he'd go stomping out there in the moonlight. And all they'd hear for miles around...(loud clap/belch).... One less kid for America. One more smiling, smurking, humongous, giant clam.So Americans built forts. Them forts --you know—them pictures of them forts with the wooden points all around. You probably thought them points was for Indians but that's stupid! 'Cause Indians know about doors. But clams didn't. Even if a clam knew about a door, so what? A clam couldn't fit in a door. I mean, he'd come stomping up to a fort at night, put them feet on them points, jump back crying, tears coming out of them everywhere. But Americans couldn't live in forts forever. You couldn't just build one big fort around America. How would you go to the beach? So what they did was they formed groups of people. I mean they had groups of people all up and down the coast form these little alliances. Like up North it was call the Clamshell Alliance. And farther down South it was called the Catfish Alliance. They had these Alliances all up and down the coast defending themselves against these threatening monsters. These humongous giant clams. Andt hey'd go out there, if there was maybe fifteen of them they'd be singing songs in fifteen part harmony. And when one part disappeared, that's how they knew where the clam would be.Which is why Americans only sing in four part harmony to this very day. That proved to be too dangerous. See, what they did was they'd be singing these songs called Clam Chanties, and they'd have these big spears called clampoons. And they'd be walking up and down the beach and the method they eventually devised where they'd have this guy, the most strongest heavy duty true blue American, courageous type dude they could find and they'd have him out there walking up and down the beach by himself with other chicken dudes hiding behind the sand dunes somewhere. He'd be singing the verses. They'd be singing the chorus, and clams would hear 'em. And clams hate music. So clams would come out of the water and they'd come after this one guy. And all you'd see pretty soon was flying all over the sand flying up and down the beach manmanclamclammanmanclam manclamclamman up and down the beach going this way and that way up the hills in the water out of the water behind the trees everywhere. Finally the man would jump over a big sand dune, roll over the side, the clam would come over the dune, fall in the hole and fourteen guys would come out there and stab the shit out of him with their clampoons. That's the way it was. That was one way to deal with them. The other way was to weld two clams together. [I don't believe it. I'm losing it. Hey. What can you do. Another night shot to hell.] Hey, this was serious back then. This was very serious. I mean these songs now are just piddly folk songs. But back then these songs were controversial. These was radical, almost revolutionary songs. Because times was different and clams was a threat to America. That's right. So we want to sing this song tonight about the one last... You see what they did was there was one man, he was one of these men, his name will always be remembered, his name was Reuben Clamzo, and he was one of the last great clam men there ever was. He stuck the last clam stab. The last clampoon into the last clam that was ever seen on this continent. Knowing he would be out of work in an hour. He did it anyway so that you and me could go to the beach in relative safety. That's right. Made America safe for the likes of you and me. And so we sing this song in his memory. He went into whaling like most of them guys did and he got out of that, when he died. You know, clams was much more dangerous than whales. Clams can run in the water, on the water or on the ground, and they are so big sometimes that they can jump and they can spread their kinda shells and kinda almost fly like one of them flying squirrels. You could be standing there thinking that your perfectly safe and all of a sudden whop.... That's true... And so this is the song of this guy by the name of Reuben Clamzo and the song takes place right after he stabbed this clam and the clam was, going through this kinda death dance over on the side somewhere. The song starts there and he goes into whaling and takes you through the next...I sing the part of the guy on the beach by himself. I go like this: Poor old Reuben Clamzo and you go Clamzo Boys Clamzo. That's the part of the fourteen chicken dudes over on the other side. That's what they used to sing. They'd be calling these clams out of the water. Like taunting them making fun of them. Clams would get real mad and come out. Here we go. I want you to sing it in case you ever have an occasion to join such an alliance. You know some of these alliances are still around. Still defending America against things like them clams. If you ever wants to join one, now you have some historic background. So you know where these guys are coming from. It's not just some 60's movement or something, these things go back a long time.Notice the distinction you're going to have to make now between the first and easy Clamzo Boys Clamzo and the more complicated Clamzo Me Boys Clamzo. Stay serious! Folk songs are serious. That's what Pete Seeger told me. Arlo I only want to tell you one thing... Folk songs are serious. I said right. Let's do it in C for Clam...Iet's do it in B... For boy that's a big clam... Iet' s do it in G for Gee, I hope that big clam don't see me. Let's do it in F... For …he sees me. Let's do it back in A...for a clam is coming. Better get this song done quick. The Story of Reuben Clamzo and His Strange Daughter in the Key of A.

Now offering 25% off my SMP price at MatthewAlanEdwards.com/op-7 !Canzona alla terza Verbum supernum prodiens was composed late one night after I was inspired by the chant melody as found in the Hymnal 1982, hymn 63. Rather than compose on the computer as I usually do, I wrote by hand as I determined the best four-part canonic treatment for each of the phrases of the chant. Composing this was akin to assembling a puzzle, both in mindset (this note fits best here) and addictive quality (need to finish this now!). Originally conceived as a short organ piece, I quickly chose to add the English text from the Hymnal 1982 then text directly from the Liber Usualis, a Catholic book of Gregorian chants commonly used until the reforms of the Second Vatican Council (Vatican II). This piece is similar in style to an Italian Renaissance canzona or early German Baroque kanon. It should be performed with performance practice of those eras in mind, including lifts after dotted notes, metric accents, and minimal vibrato, especially at cadences. Lines that end in a melisma should be performed by singing the final vowel and placing the consonant at the release of the final melisma note. The first verse may be sung in unison or as a solo as printed below. The verses may be sung in alternatum (odd verses, printed below: solo chant, even verses: choir). For a complete translation of the six Latin verses, refer to the next page. In the music’s text, I have retained all accent marks as found in the Liber Usualis. These should help inform text stress. The last two verses are suitable as a Communion anthem. This SSA Latin version was adapted from the original SATB version for the women of the Hillcrest High School choral program under the direction of Dr. Khristina Motley in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. It reduces the original four-voice setting to three voices without sacrificing any canonic entrances. This SSA version is also suitable for performance by an advanced middle school choral ensemble or for TTB men. Also available as an organ solo or in English. SATB Latin/English versions coming soon!

Every theme seems unusually familiar, and they are presented by the lead one at a time, excepting the colour theme which is taken by the tenors. The four themes are then masterfully woven together in counterpoint in the last stretch of the arrangement. The tenors have the final post whilst the leads finish their theme and the tenors conclude with a very jazzy, very christmassy solo to polish the arrangement off. This is the perfect ear-worm for your Christmas season!Key = EbThis is a per copy price with a minimum order of 10 copies. Contact: acappellatenor@gmail.com.

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.774723 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Sandra Milliken. Folk,World. Octavo. 13 pages. Sandra Milliken #3863765. Published by Sandra Milliken (A0.774723). Brisbane Ladies, sometimes known as Augathella Station, is an Australian folk song based on an English naval song titled Spanish Ladies. The song probably dates from the time of the War of the First Coalition (1793-96) when the Royal Navy carried supplies to Spain in support of that country’s resistance to revolutionary France. It then probably gained further popularity during the later Peninsular War when British soldiers were transported to Spain to assist rebels fighting against the French occupation by the forces of Napoleon.Spanish Ladies is a tale of British naval personnel sailing north from Spain and along the English Channel to their home port. Due to its popularity, several variants of Spanish Ladies later appeared in various parts of the world. American whalers sang a version called Yankee Whalermen. In Newfoundland it appeared as We’ll Rant and We’ll Roar. Special lyrics were written to the tune for the Bluenose, a famous Canadian sailing ship plying out of Nova Scotia. In Australia, around 1880, another set of lyrics appeared, written by Saul Mendelsohn who was a storekeeper in the small Queensland town of Nanango. Brisbane Ladies tells about the drovers who bring the herds of cattle overland from western Queensland to the markets in Brisbane. There the drovers spend most of their money and time with the ladies before setting out for home in search of the next herd of cattle for market. The places mentioned in Brisbane Ladies are mostly small towns along the stock route that stretched some 750 kilometres north-west of Brisbane towards the small town of Augathella, on the banks of the Warrego River. Augathella, at that time, marked the convergence of three major bullock tracks from Morven, Tambo and Charleville.

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Digital Download SKU: A0.943042 By Elvis Presley. By George David Weiss, Hugo Peretti, and Luigi Creatore. Arranged by Jonathan Kilhams. Rock. Octavo. 9 pages. Jonathan Kilhams #4798035. Published by Jonathan Kilhams (A0.943042). About the piece Can't Help Falling in Love is a 1961 song recorded by American singer Elvis Presley for the album Blue Hawaii (1961). It was written by Hugo Peretti, Luigi Creatore, and George David Weiss and published by Gladys Music, Inc. (The melody is based on Plaisir d'amour, a popular French love song composed in 1784 by Jean-Paul-Égide Martini). The song was initially written for a woman as Can't Help Falling in Love with Him, which explains the first and third line ending on in and sin rather than words rhyming with you. Can't Help Falling in Love was featured in Presley's 1961 film Blue Hawaii. During the following four decades, it has been recorded by numerous other artists, including Bob Dylan on his 1973 album Dylan, Tom Smothers, Swedish pop group A-Teens, and the British reggae group UB40, whose 1993 version topped the U.S. and UK charts. Elvis Presley's version of the song topped the British charts in 1962, spending four weeks at no. 1. The single is certified Platinum by the RIAA, for US sales in excess of one million copies. In the United States, the song peaked at No. 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 behind Joey Dee and the Starliters' Peppermint Twist and went to No. 1 on the Adult Contemporary chart for six weeks.About the arrangement This arrangement was inspired by the Elvis Presley version in 1962 and also the Pentatonix version recorded in 2017. It has been arranged for choirs that like to perform off by heart as the verse and chorus harmony are the same with very slight additions. The arrangement is for TTBB and piano and my thanks must go to Gareth Giles (pianist, organist, composer and arranger) who helped create the piano part for this arrangement. Duration: 3 minsAdditional Parts & Social MediaIf you require any additional learning parts or rehearsal tracks then please contact me directly through www.jonathankilhams.com. I am also on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram so please let me know if your choir are planning to sing my arrangement - it is always nice to know where in the world it is being performed. Published by Rod Cunningham (A0.1321592). The initial idea for this song came from a point in a sermon (in June of 2020) by a pastor at my church (who shall remain nameless to protect the guilty 😊).  The point was that we can’t get to heaven by following the Law.  Only the Gospel can do that.  Therefore, the song is a Gospel song, even though the word “gospel†never appears in it.The song opens with the statement that the Law can’t “save your soulâ€.  It also points out that the Law can’t do miracles (like physically healing the body).  The song also addresses what the Law CAN do.  The song also alludes to a game (croquet) and a food (cinnamon toast) to demonstrate that neither a “Rule book†nor a “Recipe Book†can get us to heaven.  These allusions are a bit humorous and unexpected and therefore fit well in the genre of the Barbershop Quartet style.).

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1045085 Composed by American Folk Hymn. Arranged by Mark R Lewis. Christmas,Folk,Holiday,Sacred,Traditional. Octavo. 41 pages. Mark R Lewis #649649. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1045085). The tune for Star in the East first appears in print in The Southern Harmony collection, but is well attested as an American Folk Hymn. The lyrics are partially anonymous but most published versions include verses that seem to have been added by the arranger of that version. This Epiphany song has similar themes to We Three Kings but is definitely a refreshing change from that well known tune. This fun arrangement by Mark R Lewis is for Baritone soloist, TTB choir, a woodwind instrument, and bass instrument. Included is sheet music for C, Bb, and Eb instruments and a bass line which can be played by many different bass instruments depending on what the group has available. The instrumentalists can transpose their parts to different octaves for ease of playing if necessary. The Baritone soloist should be a well experienced intermediate singer and the bass line is very active at times, but the choir and woodwind parts should be performable by most intermediate groups. Also available for Baritone solo w/ SATB ensemble. Vocal Range: f minor Baritone solo - 1 1/2 octaves (Bb2 to F4) Tenor 1 - 1+ octaves (Eb3 to F4) Tenor 2 - 1 octave (C3 to C4) Bass - 1+ octaves (F2 to Gb3) Instrument Range: Clarinet - max 3 1/2 octaves (F3 to A5) can be smaller if octaves are transposed Bass instrument - 1 1/2 octaves (F2 to C4).

TTBB choir (a cappella) - Digital Download SKU: MQ.4995-E Composed by Frank Ferko. 12 pages. E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital #4995-E. Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.4995-E). The Hildegard Motets comprise a cycle of nine unaccompanied choral motets using texts by the 12th century abbess Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179). The texts were extracted from Hildegard's opus of more than seventy sacred poems titled Symphinia armonie celestium revelationum. Although these poems have been translated into English (more than once) and some of the translations are quite brilliant, I chose to set the original Latin texts as I felt they remained closer to Hildegard's own thoughts. The nine poems used in this cycle were selected according to their appropriateness to seasons in the Christian liturgical caldendar (thus, most of them can be sung in specific liturgical settings) and to their appropriateness to the structured plan of this cycle as well as for their sheer poetic beauty. Hildegard's poetic vocabulary was unusual and unique; she frequently used language that is not found in standard Latin liturgical texts. As with the music she composed, her poetry is highly ecstatic, vivid and rich in imagery.

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.927816 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by EDDY CLEMENT. Christmas. Octavo. 8 pages. Eddy Clement #5755413. Published by Eddy Clement (A0.927816). This arrangement of the Traditional Deck The Hall breathes new life into the Holiday classic. Easily accessible voice parts will sing solidly with your ensembles. The sophisticated Fa, la, la... chorus is playful, and is skillfully used as an overlay with the third verse of the carol. A great concert Opener or Closer! Available in S(S)ATB and TTBB voicings, these can be used separately or together for massed choir settings. Accompaniment can be Piano only, or any one of the Instrumental Packs (Winds, Strings and/or Brass [Brass orchestration by KEVIN ROBISON]). Unlike the Choral voicings, the Instrumental Packs should not be combined.

Octavo. 30 pages. Mark R Lewis #745200. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1144884). Together these two hymns are used to illustrate the portion of the of the Christmas narrative when the angels announce the birth of Jesus to the shepherds. This arrangement is for TTBB choir with piano and optional percussion accompaniment. With a driving piano part and fun percussion, this piece is a wonderful addition to any Christmas program, especially a lesson and carols service. The percussion can be covered by three players: a timpanist, one for orchestral chimes, and one that will switch between sleigh-bells and glockenspiel.
