Classical guitarist, and author of the Schott Guitar Anthology Series, Jens Franke presents the first published edition of these studies by the Catalan guitarist, composer and teacher.

The Spanish guitarist Narciso Yepes (1927-1997) was one of the great masters of his instrument and was regarded as the greatest guitarist of Spain, apart from André.s Segovia and Emilio Pujol. Pupil of Vicente Asensio, he had a strong connection with the flamenco. in 1947, Yepes made the breakthrough with the performance of Joaquí.n Rodrigo's 'Concierto de Aranjuez'. As a composer, Yepes was internationally recognised because of his film music of 'Jeux interdits' (René. Clé.ment, 1952). Yepes added numerous transcriptions to the repertoire of the acoustic guitar. The newly compiled anthology contains the most beautiful pieces from the repertoire of this brilliant virtuoso.

'Suite melodique' for solo guitar by Laurent Meneret (*1963) consists of seven short compositions altogether which focus on various aspects of modern guitar playing in a progressive order of difficulty. The great variety of the pieces ranging from romantic, Creole, Celtic and atonal music to waltz and mambo allows the guitarist to devote himself playfully and intensively to his instrument.
