Malin #933060. Published by Christopher J. Malin (A0.1348275). Solo jazz guitar chord/melody arrangement with tablature. Seldom heard standard in this style. Beautiful, instantly recognizable cheerful melody. One of Burt Bacharach's many fine pieces. This piece makes you stand out as a solo jazz guitarist of all idioms. Some chords are played as triads or dyads or eliminated, and single notes are used. I draw a line over the note if it's the high note of a chord or I use a dot if it's played as a single note, the chord is then in parentheses. I tend to use a minimalist style that keeps the important parts of the music. Sounds great on acoustic and electric guitars.I tend to play the triad chords using a little hand vibrato, makes them sing a bit. I also slide up to the single notes at times. Published by Geofonica Artistworks (A0.1449472). A beautiful, soothing and serene fingerstyle guitar solo, in a modern folk-classical style, by Bradley Powell (The Candlelight Guitarist). It is mostly played in 1st position (a few spots higher on neck), using folk-country chord voicings, with some softer jazz major 7th, major 9th, minor 9th chords. It is a fairly easy intermediate level piece (as far as technical difficulty), but can sound very professional as well. This sheet music is in Standard notation... Jane Goodall is a world-famous primatologist and anthropologist, considered the world's foremost expert on chimpanzees. She has changed the world with her studies, and continues to do so with environmental and educational activism. Brad Powell met Ms. Goodall in the early 1990s, and has composed this piece in her honor. It is a relaxing waltz style, using intermediate-level classical guitar technique, with both folk and modern jazz guitar chord voicings.
