This is a flamenco guitar arrangement of Malague�a, a pianopiece written by Cuban pianist/composer Ernesto Lecuona. It was originallyadapted for solo Spanish/Flamenco guitar by Carlos Montoya in 1961 and is widely believed to have been originallywritten for the guitar. The fact that Lecuona wrote the piece in thestyle of Spain is likely what makes the Spanish guitar arrangement feel like itbelongs to the instrument. Anotherreason for its association with Spanish guitar is the fact that the main melodyfrom the piece was not Lecuona?s invention but was taken from the ?Malague�a? flamencoform, originating out of M�laga, Spain, in the 19th century. ?Malague�a,? andthe melodic lines associated with it, is one of the traditional styles of Flamenco/Andalusianmusic. This rendition is ?in the style of Sabicas,? a Spanish Gypsy guitaristwho is considered by many to be one of the finest flamenco solo guitarists of his time. Lecuona?sMalague�a is typically found as a solo piano piece in the key of C# Phrygian,whereas on the guitar, (as is the case with this arrangement) it isnormally arranged in E Phrygian.

Here is a unique arrangement of Elton John's hit, "Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word" arranged for classical guitar by David Jaggs. Some arrangements don't come easily but this one seems to sit perfectly on the guitar, from the melody line to the piano instrumental part and gels together into a great arrangement. Due to popular demand, as with all of David's new arrangements it also comes in a version with tablature available on this website. Both right and left hands are fingered in the trickier passages.

The Hungarian Dance Csardas is the best known work by Vittorio Monti (1868-1922) an Ita - lian composer born in Naples, who worked extensively as a conductor and composer in Paris. Originally written for Violin, or Mandolin, with piano or orchestra accompaniment Csardas was immediately selected by numerous virtuosos who adopted it as a showpiece. Nowadays, it is still widely heard for just about every instrumental combination from various solo instruments, particularly solo violin, to versions for many instrumental combinations from gypsy orchestras through to marching bands.
