This is a solo guitar instrumental arrangement in standard notation (including lyrics for reference) of Colors of the Wind (from Pocahontas), created by Brad Powell The Candlelight Guitarist--for his performances in the Princess Breakfast Adventure at the Disneyland Resort's Grand Californian hotel (Napa Rose restaurant), from 2019 to early 2024. Brad performed this for Pocahontas, her friends, and guests. It's an intermediate level arrangement mixing pop with basic classical fingerstyle techniques. You can see and hear the full arrangement performed in the YouTube link provided. (NOTE: This same arrangement is also available with TAB included.)ABOUT: Brad Powell (aka The Candlelight Guitarist) began guitar at age ten, inspired by The Beatles. At 15, he became a protégé of jazz guitarist Joe Pass, and later studied classical guitar under Vincent Macaluso, and at California State University, Northridge under Ronald Purcell, with a master class under Andrés Segovia. Brad was featured performing Gerald Wilson's Sonata for Guitar and Orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl, with the composer conducting. Brad was mentored in composition by David Rose (composer for Little House on the Prairie). Brad has composed music for TV, including Hill Street Blues and The 'A' Team, working with Mike Post. Brad has ten albums as The Candlelight Guitarist. When not making music, Brad is often out hiking with his four dogs. Keith Terrett has done an outstanding job of injecting jazz and blues into these holiday favorites. The writing beginning in measure 13 of Ding Dong Merrily On High is outstanding. Check out the wonderful contrast in movement between the flute and bass. This arrangement of Xmas carols would be a wonderful addition to any future holiday program. Well done Keith! Have fun! Guitar Tab added. 3. Slurs and slides added. 4. Re-harmonized to be idiomatic for guitar, be less cliche,  and to emphasize the main melody more. 5. Some composers indications added when really necessary.  6. Left hand fingerings added.7. Chord nomenclature added.8. Overly excessive ties removed.9. Some octaves changes to better suit guitar.Tips:1. Be very careful of the difference between slurs and ties! Sometimes I don't show slurs on the tab, but this time I had to.2. The rests are real and they are suggested because they lead to a jazzier rag time sound. I feel like it goes without saying that sustain is ultimately up to the performer, which is why I removed a lot of pedantic ties; they seem to add confusion half the time. 3. The D7 is a slight key change because it has an F# in the chord. It's a secodary dominace chord, V7/V, and often a vii7b5 can replace it. In other words, the F# goes gravitates into the next chord, a G Major chord.4. G6 is really just the 3 thinnest strings of the guitar open. It's a great transition chord.5. The D# is part of the C major blues scale.6. Adding more 7th chords than originally there is almost always an interesting pursuit. Going from G to G7 can certainly aid in helping things sound more goofy.

Duration: 8 - 9 minutes, 3 pp. Description: The structure of Grid (Cynosure) is made up of several overlapping processes, of which the descending voice leading is but the easiest to discern. Shifting harmonies become an artifact of the individual descending voices, while the ebb and flow of these harmonies leads to the perception of windows of consonance — or harmonic nodes in C major, A major and E major. Simultaneously, the listener's temporal reference shifts gears in a process of continually augmenting pulses, changing the listener's perception of time and tempo. There is, then, a counterpoint between three different elemental processes: a melodic process, a harmonic process and a temporal process, which all co-operate to create the work's movement from tension to repose. Cynosure : noun, a person or thing that is the center of attention or admiration (the Queen was the cynosure of all eyes); from Latin cynosura, from Greek kunosoura ‘dog's tail’ (also ‘Ursa Minor’ ), from ku!n, kun- ‘dog’ + oura ‘tail.’ The term originally denoted the constellation Ursa Minor, or the star Polaris that it contains, long used as a guide by navigators.

Guitar - SKU: A0.1059303 Composed by David Warin Solomons. 20th Century,Contemporary. Full Performance. Duration 650. David Warin Solomons #511059. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.1059303). Performance of my suite for guitar and orchestra by András Csáki and the Budapest Scoring Symphonic Orchestra under Péter Illényi in 2015. The suite comprises: Dreaming, Folksy Waltz, Sanctus and Benedictus, with Hosannas, and finally Distant Storm It has elements of Romantic and Renaissance music, flamenco, Latin American, a bit of Celtic square dancing, classical minuets and a general joie de vivre mixed with a little spirituality. Dreaming is a romantic getting to know you scene between guitar and orchestra, with slow harmonic progressions in the strings and melodic imitations and dialogues between guitar and woodwind and then also between guitar and harp. A simple waltz follows, in which the flutes take up new melodies and the guitar initially just provides accompaniment but joins in the conversation as the movement progresses. The Sanctus and Benedictus section reflects the rhythms of the Latin words of the mass, with the Osanna after each main part being a little faster and reminsicent of some of the lute works of Vincenzo Galilei. The harmonic ideas of the Sanctus also colour the slower parts of the last movement, Distant Storm, but the main part of this final movement is a rhythmically exciting dialogue between the various sections of the orchestra and the guitar, leading to an abrupt conclusion, possibly the first thunderclap of a distant but approaching storm, or possibly just a bit of fun.
