Also is a very good arrangement for professional players that need repertoire for wedding events.Every Breath You Take is a song by the English rock band the Police from their album Synchronicity (1983). Written by Sting, the single was the biggest US and Canadian hit of 1983, topping the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for eight weeks (the band's only No. 1 hit on that chart), and the Canadian RPM Chart for four weeks. Their fifth UK No. 1, it topped the UK Singles Chart for four weeks. The song also reached the Top 10 in numerous other countries.Sting wrote the song in 1982 in the aftermath of his separation from Frances Tomelty and the beginning of his relationship with Trudie Styler. Their split was controversial. As The Independent reported in 2006, The problem was, he was already married – to actress Frances Tomelty, who just happened to be Trudie's best friend. Sting and Frances lived next door to Trudie in Bayswater, West London, for several years before the two of them became lovers. The affair was widely condemned.To escape the public eye, Sting retreated to the Caribbean. He started writing the song at Ian Fleming's writing desk on the Goldeneye estate in Oracabessa, Jamaica. The lyrics are the words of a possessive lover who is watching every breath you take; every move you make. Sting recalled:I woke up in the middle of the night with that line in my head, sat down at the piano and had written it in half an hour. The tune itself is generic, an aggregate of hundreds of others, but the words are interesting. It sounds like a comforting love song. I didn't realise at the time how sinister it is. Trapped by something you can’t fully understand no matter how hard you try? Perhaps it’s something from our past that we never invited...or something we’ve missed in our closest relationships, maybe it’s just the dread we’ve felt waking up early in the morning to repeat the daily grind. We work hard to try and propel ourselves out of this nightmare, but we never seem to get totally free, in fact sometimes it feels like we’re just making ourselves feel worse by failing to overcome it yet again. This piece, ...a bridge a-way, exits within, represents that feedback loop, that stuckness. The piece came to me when I felt stuck in life by several things - old scars, old habits, crippling emotions. I had been wanting to write something in a minimalist style for the guitar for quite some time and the repetition found in so much minimalist music seemed like the obvious way for expressing this stuckness. There’s constant motion in the piece, just like when we try to take constant action in our lives to improve our circumstances. But all this motion never seems to get us anywhere new. We’re spinning our wheels…But one of the interesting things about great minimalist music is that it’s not merely about repetition. I don’t believe the greatest minimalists were concerned with having less stuff in their music for the sake of having less. Instead, what I think they more often aimed for was producing the biggest emotional impact that they could through the tiniest of changes. And if in your mind’s eye you zoom out from one of these minimalist masterworks and perceive it on a grand scale, you realize that despite all the seemingly redundant repetition in the moment the piece actually covers a huge distance because all those tiny changes add up.Likewise, in ...a bridge a-way, exits within, it seems like the performer can’t free himself from the territory of the first position on the guitar for the longest time. Even when he does venture higher up the instrument he’s always inextricably pulled back to the starting point. But small changes can have a profound impact.It doesn’t feel like we’re making headway whenever we’re having to crawl out of our skin - until, suddenly, when it’s all over. And you hear this towards the end of the piece, when there’s a sudden magnetic force that pulls the music from a low A to a high E-natural. From A to E, a bridge to exits eternal. The bridge has been found within, in the One I’ve put my trust in, because I can’t reach my eternal destiny on my own. This is ...a bridge a-way, exits within.

Arranged for solo Guitar, Tico-Tico no fubá (sparrow in the cornmeal, or, literally, rufous-collared sparrow in the cornmeal) is a Brazilian choro song written by Zequinha de Abreu in 1917. A great arrangement for your next performance, sure to be a big hit with your audience!Its original title was Tico-Tico no farelo (sparrow in the bran), but since Brazilian guitarist Américo Jacomino Canhoto (1889–1928) had a work with the same title, Abreu's work was given its present name in 1931, and sometime afterward Aloysio de Oliveira wrote the original Portuguese lyrics.Eros Volusia and her dancers dance to Tico-Tico in 1942 Rio Rita. Ethel Smith performed Tico-Tico onscreen in Bathing Beauty (1944). Carmen Miranda performed Tico-Tico onscreen in Copacabana (1947); It was also featured in the Aquarela do Brasil segment of the Walt Disney film Saludos Amigos (1942) and in Woody Allen's Radio Days (1987).In Quebec the song has been used for several decades in commercials for Sico paint.In season three of Mama's Family episode An Ill Wind, an intoxicated Iola briefly sings the song's chorus before passing out onto a bed.This song can be heard on various episodes of the Belgian Kabouter Wesley cartoon.In season one of Narcos: Mexico, episode 3 (El Padrino), the orchestral version of the song is played by a band during a reception. A biographical movie about Zequinha de Abreu with the same title, Tico-Tico no Fubá was produced in 1952 by the Brazilian film studio Companhia Cinematográfica Vera Cruz, starring Anselmo Duarte as Abreu.The title phrase also features in the lyrics to the song O Pato made famous by João Gilberto.Choro (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈʃoɾu], cry or lament), also popularly called chorinho (little cry or little lament), is an instrumental Brazilian popular music genre which originated in 19th century Rio de Janeiro. Despite its name, the music often has a fast and happy rhythm. It is characterized by virtuosity, improvisation and subtle modulations, and is full of syncopation and counterpoint. Choro is considered the first characteristically Brazilian genre of urban popular music. The serenaders who play choros are known as chorões.

I offer an arrangement in D major of the traditional Flamenco Tanguillo de Cádiz as a second guitar to accompany my arrangement of the Tanguillo for solo guitar. The solo guitar arrangement is written in A major. To work as guitar 1 in the duet, the solo version must be played with the capo at the fifth fret to transpose the score to D major. This is normal practice in Flamenco guitar playing. The guitarist simply plays the score as if the capo were the nut. The tones/notes are then referred to as if they were being played in the first position, but they sound of course different.I created the arrangement in D major to accompany a student I taught to play the solo version so we could play and perform together. It was a lot of fun working on the arrangement and we had a great time playing the Tanguillo as a duet. It was also a big hit with audiences. I particularly recommend this arrangement for instructors teaching the solo version to intermediate students of Flamenco guitar, especially young students who will find it easier to play the Tanguillo at the fifth fret in D major. It is a great inspiration for  students to play along with their instructor, making music together. The arrangement also, of course, works just as well as a duet for two students or two experienced guitarists.The D minor section contains the typical Andalusian cadence found in the more â??jondoâ? styles of Flamenco and serves as a first introduction to these darker more serious â??sonidos negrosâ? as Manuel de Falla referred to them. The many taps or â??golpesâ? found in the score are, as I said in the description of the Tanguillo solo, not absolutely essential, but they definitely add more â??punchâ? to the performance and give the arrangement a more earthy Gitano Andaluz character.

Cilia Black states that, rather than declining outright to record the song, she decided to set conditions: I said I'd only do it if Burt Bacharach himself did the arrangement, never thinking for one moment that he would. When the reply came back from America that he'd be happy to...I said I would only do it if Burt came over to London for the recording session. 'Yes,' came the reply. Next I said that as well as the arrangements and coming over, he had to play piano on the session. To my astonishment it was agreed that Burt would do all three. So by this time, coward that I was, I really couldn't back out. The song was a major hit for Cilla Black (UK) and Dionne Warwick (US).
