Join Right In That's exactly what the flutes and oboes tell the clarinets! Next, the clarinets invite the Eb sax and French horn to Join Right In . And in return, the invitation is given to the trumpets! Lower brass and percussion are involved throughout. An eight measure trumpet/cornet solo adds even more flavor. Before you know it, the entire band is involved in playing a lively, upbeat tune with a big, full sounding ending. Your band members and audience will have a ball with this piece, and it will be a challenge keeping everyone from wanting to Join Right In.All parts are written within the range of young elementary grade musicians. To produce a full sound, many instruments double other instruments, i.e. Eb sax and French horn, low brass and tenor sax, flute and oboe. Simple harmonization, limited ranges, and basic rhythms ensure success and enjoyment for both the musicians and the audience.The work creates a musical picture of a slow-moving camel caravan crossing a desert. This is a work you will continue to use for years to come. And with the license to copy all the parts you ever need, you can let the students keep their parts as souvenirs and just print new ones the next time!LEVEL: Appropriate for 2nd-/3rd-year players or advanced beginners. (BcP-YB) PROGRAMMING:Winter/Christmas concertModerately slow tempo provides nice contrast with faster works. FEATURES:Melody distributed through all wind parts.Simple but effective percussion parts.Programmatic nature of the work allows students to begin learning expressiveness. Published by HMS Music (A0.1435814). ___________________________With a nice minor mode sound and a propelling timpani line, TIDINGS OF JOY opens with God Rest Ye, Merry, harmonized in drone fashion, then features a soli middle section of Pat-a-Pan for which you audition the players who get to play this more difficult middle section (keeps your best players challenged!) while the rest of the band vocalize a single pitch on ahh. The piece then recaps with God Rest You Merry with a slightly fuller instrumentation and a simple flute obligato line.FEATURES: Melody opportunities for all wind parts; Multiple percussion parts give colorful sound; timpani provide bass ostinato; Students sing ahh on a single note - great for improving intonation!; Soli section in middle will motivate players to learn the part so they get to play the melody (keeps your better players challenged); Low brass parts are very simple.RANGES: C minor (3 flats).
