Concert Band - SKU: A0.495192 Composed by Moises Mendoza. Contemporary. Score and parts. 67 pages. Published by Moises Mendoza (A0.495192). I composed this piece because I wanted to get myself used to composing for large ensembles, wind ensemble particularly. This composition took the most time and energy in creating the biggest work I have taken on thus far. This piece allowed me to get a better insight of my creativity as well as incorporate the lessons I have learned from my music professors. The experience was well worth it for I now know what I am capable of in my compositions and I look forward to working on more works in large ensembles in the future. During the time I composed this piece, I was expecting to have it performed around April 2020. However, that was around the time when COVID started spreading around the world and so that experience was lost to me. I hope someday it will be performed under better days.

Concert Band - Level 4 - SKU: A0.837514 Composed by Brett L. Wery. Contemporary. Score and parts. 124 pages. Sonata Grendel Publishing #6748213. Published by Sonata Grendel Publishing (A0.837514). Note: for best results, print the score (first 38 pages) on 8.5 X 14 (legal) sized paper and print the parts on 8.5 X 11 (letter) sized paper. M45 is the Messier catalog number for an open star cluster better known as the Pleiades. Oot-kwa-tah is dedicated to Schenectady County Community College on the forty-fifth anniversary of the college’s establishment as part of the State University of New York. The college sits on land that was once part of the Mohawk nation of the Iroquois Confederacy. Oot-kwa-tah is inspired by the Iroquois legend of M45, the Pleiades star cluster. The Iroquois tell a story about seven children who met each day and danced for hours at a time instead of doing chores. An old man appeared to them one day as they danced. He shone magnificently like silver and was clad from head to toe in brilliant white feathers. The old man warned them to stop dancing lest something terrible happen to them. Ignoring the old man’s warning and growing more and more hungry and lightheaded the children began to rise into the air. If only they had listened to me, the old man thought. As the children’s parents gathered, one little boy heard his father’s voice below. The little boy looked down and saw his father. At that instant he fell back to earth. The other children continued to float higher and higher into the sky to become the Pleiades star cluster. The Iroquois call them Oot-kwa-tah and are reminded of these reckless children each time they see a falling star.

Concert Band - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1265062 By Boyce Avenue. By Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. Arranged by Jason Howard. Broadway,Film/TV,Musical/Show,Pop. Score and Parts. 40 pages. Jason Howard #857689. Published by Jason Howard (A0.1265062). Thank you for you're interest in my arrangement one of The Greatest Showman's greatest hits! This arrangement of Never Enough is for concert band with an optional vocal soloist. The work starts out with the simple piano arpeggios that really hooked my ear on the original, before leading into an intimate blend of woodwind timbres and flowing percussive melodies for the first verse. Low Brass lead the work into the first chorus, where a Horn solo carries the emotion to the first full ensemble hit that pushes through until the end of the work where sudden silence and soft, warm extended chord punctuates the piece. This piece was written with advanced high school and higher level musicians in mind. Though the pieces isn't incredibly difficult overall, the range asked of some of the performers and the raw emotion that this work represents demands a level of training. The score will likely be better printed on Legal sized paper to help with readability, but the parts are all easily printable on standard 8.5x11 copy paper.Instrumentation:Flute 1 & 2*Oboe*Bb Clarinet 1 & 2Bb Clarinet 3*Bass ClarinetAlto Saxophone 1Alto Saxophone 2Tenor SaxophoneBaritone SaxophoneBb Trumpet 1 & 2Bb Trumpet 3Horn in F 1 & 3*Horn in F 2 & 4*Trombone 1Trombone 2Eupnonium*TubaOptional Solo VoicePianoGlockenspielChimesXylophoneMarimbaConcert Bass DrumSuspended Cymbal*Part includes a solo sectionI hope that you and your group enjoys my arrangement! If you would rather email me than leave a comment, shoot me an email at jhowardarranging@gmail.com!A little about me:My name is Jason Howard, and at the time of this publication, I'm going into my 5th year as a band director at the middle and high school levels. I have quite a bit of experience with arranging of various types of vocal and instrumental ensembles and combos. Most are for personal use, but as I get time, I hope to publish more and more for public consumption! Primarily, I focus on popular music, and I one day hope to bring important and influential classical musics to audiences and younger students everywhere!

Concert Band - SKU: A0.733009 Composed by Benjamin Ayotte. Contemporary. Score and parts. 30 pages. Ayotte Custom Musical Engravings #2075851. Published by Ayotte Custom Musical Engravings (A0.733009). A promise to stand by... this phrase indicate loyalty, steadfastness, being a man of one's word, knowing that integrity and honor are the enduring qualities by which we will be judged; not fame, fortune, influence, or other worldly measures. It is no surprise, therefore, that this phrase was incorporated by Lou Fortunate and Msgr Herman Kucyk, of blessed memory, into the alma mater of Divine Child High School. When I was approached by Mr. Bush and the Divine Child Band Boosters about the possibility of writing a piece to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the band program I was excited, flattered, and--most of all--humbled that I should be chosen out of many worthier candidates, in my estimation. Divine Child has had, for the longest time--since the beginning, it seems--a vibrant and thriving fine arts program involving music (both vocal and instrumental), theatre, and the visual arts as well as literature and poetry. I began to conceive of a work that would pay homage to each of these arts musically and be a celebration of all that Divine Child has to offer. One of my favourite composers, Gustav Mahler, famously said, a symphony must be like the world; it must contain everything. In the 1988 vice-presidential debate, Lloyd Bentsen famously said to Dan Quayle, Senator, you're no Jack Kennedy. A voice in my head said, Benjamin, you're no Gus Mahler. As the discarded drafts in the recycle bin took on a life of their own, I eventually dismissed the idea as impractical, and even vainglorious. I settled upon a more general idea to make the music about the band program. Most every student in the band program goes through the rigors of marching band and performs at the Falcon football games where they become intimate with the Three School Songs: the Falcon Fanfare, the Fight Song, and the Alma Mater. Taking the latter piece as my inspiration, I meditated upon the mission of the school: a promise to educate us in body, mind, and spirit. Divine Child High School stands by her promise, recruiting some of the best teachers in the area to guide us through the tumultuous adolescent years. We students, too, have a promise: to strive to be worthy of this gift, and to accept it and use it for the betterment of society. In band class, under Leo Tallieu, I learned to listen; to contribute to the group; to consider my part in relation to the whole ensemble; to show leadership when needed; and to be a role player when needed. And so, my conception of the piece changed. I wanted to use melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic devices that would be familiar to all DCHS band students, but to use them in a new and different way; to recontextualize them. As time went on, Bob Bush asked me if I would be able to work in a tribute to two band students who had tragically died in the last few years: Blaise H.

Concert Band - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1153691 By Scott Custer Jr. By Scott Custer Jr. Contemporary. Score and parts. 101 pages. Scott Custer Jr #753948. Published by Scott Custer Jr (A0.1153691). My first complete concert band piece. It's been in the works for about 3 months. The early drafts of this piece were written in April/May and were then left to collect dust for months. I wrote it to experiment with melodic/harmonic minor scales and did not intend to finish the piece. Around the same time I wrote the early drafts of the piece, my high school band director asked if I wanted to write a piece for the concert band. I agreed and spent months working on different pieces of music, completing none of them. Around late October I stumbled across this looking through old pieces of music for some new ideas. I listened through it 3 or 4 times and decided to continue the piece. After spending roughly two months finishing the draft, and another month revising and adding parts, I had finally finished Trapped. When I started working on this piece with the intention of finishing it, I was at a difficult point in my life. I had recently come home from my rookie season of drum corps and was still transitioning back to the real world. The freedom of tour had been taken away from me, I had mentally matured a lot during the summer. While only 17 I felt like I was stuck with a bunch of kids. I had spent all summer with friends much older than me, learning a lot from them and taking inspiration from them in many ways. When I started this piece, I was conflicted with many thoughts and emotions. I was still under the impression that my peers in the music program hated me because of some of my actions last year. The girl from home I had been talking with all summer while I was gone, and hoped to start a relationship with, lied to me while I was gone about many things, causing me to remove them from my life. The last year and a half have involved many events like losing my best friend of 5 years because of, what I consider, an overreaction on my part; being used for my kindness; lied to; having secrets about me revealed behind my back by those I trusted; being a therapy friend; constant overthinking; as well as toxic friendships I didn’t want to leave because I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I felt trapped. I had spent so long trying to improve myself to become who I am today, and I still felt like crap. Even though I knew and promised myself I wouldn’t follow through, I was battling suicidal thoughts and I was in a severely depressive episode of my life. I wrote this piece to express the feeling of overthinking, being trapped in your mind, and the road to recovery. The constant back-and-forth battles with yourself, unsure of where to go and what to do next; feeling trapped. I hope that this piece connects and resonates with those of you in a similar position to what I was in, and I promise there is a way out and that life does get better. And with that, I present to you, Trapped.

Www.dalsegno.eu #3867431. Published by www.dalsegno.eu (A0.770366). The most famous Renaissance choral piece for two antiphonal ensembles finally arranged for Winds and Percussions, featuring a Brass Quartet (two trumpets and two trombones). This enjoyable concert piece is also useful to develope tone quality, intonation, phrasing and expression of every ensemble.Even smaller groups and young bands can perform this piece, because the four original parts are mostly doubled. The difficulty grade is very reasonable.Every conductor will take advantage of the performance stage/location, staging the better arrangement for the four solists (plus opt. Tenor Drums) and the ensemble. The soloist should stay, generally speaking, far away from the audience to emphasize the echo effect.A piano part (reduction of the ensemble) is also included, for both performance and rehearsal.Complete set with score and parts: Solos (Trumpet 1+2, Trombone 1+2),Piccolo, Flute 1+2, Oboe (or Soprano sax), Bassoon,Clarinets 1+2+3+bass, Saxes AATB,Trumpets/Cornets 1+2+3, F/Eb Horn, Trombones 1+2+3,Euphonium/Baritone BC+TC, Tuba, String Bass,Piano, Timpani, Side Drum(s), Tenor Drum(s).Other transpositions (e.g. Bb Trombones TC) available for free at simply requestDuration ca. 3 mins., 39 pages.Feel free to contact me at info@dalsegno.eu for any other setting! Please, check my other works at www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/3025323or visit www.dalsegno.eu

Concert Band - Level 2 - SKU: A0.1027468 Composed by Keane Southard. Contemporary. Score and parts. 40 pages. Spindrift Pages #546437. Published by Spindrift Pages (A0.1027468). Do You Hear How Many You Are? for Concert Band was originally written in April and May of 2010 for SATB choir. I made this concert band arrangement in 2012. The origins of this piece and text come from a very interesting experience I had in December of 2009. I have been learning a lot in the past few years about the state of our world and the many huge problems and crises we are faced with in the near future, and this discovery has been so daunting and overwhelming to me. So much change needs to happen in order for the near and long-term future of our world to be just and stable that I have felt a lot of guilt over my choice of profession. Why have I chosen to be a composer and musician when I could make more of an impact on solving these problems if I were a scientist or policy maker etc.? I have been struggling to find a solution to this dilemma for a while now and I just happened to be thinking about it, while filled with lots of stress and worries, one night as I was falling asleep in December of 2009. At the moment when I was in that state halfway between sleep and consciousness, I suddenly heard the line Do you hear how many you are? in my head, yet I felt as though I didn't come up with the line but that it was said TO me. I was instantly comforted, as if a load fell off my shoulders, and then I began to hear it being sung, which I knew was the beginning of a choral piece. I woke up, wrote down the music I was hearing (about the first six measures of the work) and then wrote down this entire poem. I truly feel that this message came to me for a reason, and that I need to share it through the music I create. Those of us who want to change the world for the better are not alone; we are many and we will make our voices hear in order to heal the world. -Keane Southard Duration: c. 3 minutes Grade 2 -Finalist, 3rd International Frank Ticheli Competition -Premiered April 19 2013 by the Minot State University Symphonic Band, Devin Otto, conductor Website: keanesouthard.instantencore.com.

Concert Band - Level 5 - SKU: A0.1257507 By KyleMac! Music. By Kyle L. McKinzey. Contemporary,Contest,Festival,Rock. Score and Parts. 224 pages. KyleMac Music #850799. Published by KyleMac Music (A0.1257507). METALLIC KHATRU is my tribute to my love of ‘70-’s Prog Rock. Other than the Beatles, it was the first type of music that inspired me to figure out what they were playing. My favorites were Yes, ELP, and Kansas among others. The piece is marked AGGRESSIVE but intentionally does not have a tempo marking. I wrote it at 180 bpm but can be effective slightly below that but I would not attempt it much faster. This piece will greatly challenge ALL of your players. I'm sure that they, and your audience, will have an exhilarating experience performing this piece. Finally, someone is going to ask “What does ‘Metallic Khatru’ mean?†Nothing. I just liked the name.NOTE - This version requires that the score be printed with Legal size paper. The parts are printed in Letter size. In my experience, this was the most common for US groups to be able to print. - There is another version that has the score in Tabloid & Concert size if that fits your needs better. You can contact me directly if you need that size. It is listed on my website.I hope you and your performers enjoy METALLIC KHATRU. I mainly write for young bands, but this was an extremely fun piece to work on. I would appreciate any comments to kylemacmusic#@gmail.com

Concert Band - SKU: A0.1030824 Composed by Neal Endicott. Contemporary. Score and parts. 35 pages. Neal Endicott Music #1249. Published by Neal Endicott Music (A0.1030824). This piece was originally titled Istn’t it Enough, drawing inspiration from the famous passage from The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. I changed the wording slightly to be more encompassing of different modes of perception (thought is a broader concept than sight and the word think created better melodic material than the word see, using the method described below) I provided an alternate title to more clearly convey the meaning behind the piece. That is; that the only church that I will ever need is the one I find in musical expression and in the beauty of the natural world. Though Adams’ meaning was meant to convey the primary reasoning for his atheism-a reason that I use as well-I also see it as an admonishment of our need for constant stimulation. Adams felt-and I feel-that people need to take the time to slow down and enjoy life: we need to enjoy the beauty of the garden (both literally and metaphorically). That, quite simply, is what this piece is (or at least what it is to me). Among the compositional techniques that I used in this piece is one that I have been using quite a lot. I call it crypto-serialism. The basic concept is that I will take a piece of text (the Douglas Adams quote, in this case) and convert each letter to a number between 0 and 11 and then convert those numbers to musical pitches, where 0 = C, 1 = C#, etc. The technique offers me a way to draw actual musical ideas from the text itself, which I see as a means of creating a deeper connection to the text. Concert Band - Level 3 - SKU: A0.1205281 By Keith Terrett. By Various. Arranged by Keith Terrett. Historic,March,Multicultural,Patriotic,Traditional,World. 109 pages. Keith Terrett #803468. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1205281). A new arrangement of music  especially for ’’National Day’’ in Norway, which falls on the 17th of May each year.Bands all over the land march around their towns and villages, in celebration of Norway’s independence from Sweden. The little set consists of ’’Ja vi elsker’’, ’’Fagert er landet’’, ’’Gud signe vårt dyre fedreland’,’’Smaa barnas nasjonalsang’’, ’’Kongsesangen’’, an original march entitled ’’17 mai (Constitution marsj)’’, and a small compilation of three marches which include,’'Alle fugler'', ’’Gammel Jegermarsj’’ and ’’Mellom bakkar og berg’’ by Lindeman; and finally Norge i rødt, hvitt og blått  (Norway in red, white and blue). These arrangements will work very well with just four players.  As long as you cover all four parts, you are guaranteed a very rich and full-sounding arrangement. If you have some percussion players to augment your group, it will sound even better. This arrangement comes with parts for flexible band.If you are interested in other music for brass, have a look at my Norwegian publisher’s web site, for my set of ’’7 Julesangs’’, for Brass Quartet, Flexible Band and Piano:www.musikk-huset.noThe Norwegian Constitution Day is the National Day of Norway and is an official national holiday each year. Among Norwegians, the day is referred to simply as syttende mai (meaning May Seventeenth), Nasjonaldagen (The National Day) or Grunnlovsdagen (The Constitution Day), although the latter is less frequent. If you require other parts, e-mail me your requirements, and I will up-load parts to my Sibelius store within 24hrs: keithterrett@gmail,com.
