It is the sixth piece in the composer's first book of Preludes, written between late 1909 and early 1910. The title is in French and translates to Footprints in the Snow . The piece is one of four Debussy preludes in book # 1. Thought to be inspired by the hugely popular French impressionist painting , called Snow at Louveciennes, Debussy's inspiration from Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky is evident in this piece through his utilization of a block-like dissonant chord just before the middle part of the piece My own personal touches on this piece, included extended chord progression and formation with small variants on melody and counter melodies, Also, more importantly, the expression of the performers interpretation as well as my own for the creation and musically paint a magical snow scene.Arranged and scored for piccolo, 6 flutes in c, alto flute in g, bass flute , opt. contra bass flute and / or optional cello.Perfect for large and small ensembles. Perfect for winter concerts, prelude services, recitals, concerts. I thought this impressionist piece, much like the the famous french paintings are a perfect pairing for winter, snow days, and environmental effects . Obviously, this is a professional arrangement, and super difficult to find on SHeetMusicPLus , compared to so many other simple and basic , cookie-cutter formatted arrangementsThis arrangement, however is true professionally arranged and definitely will stand out and shine for you ensemble or choir.A must for flute choir libraries!!

Written in the style of nocturne, it is one of the most famous songs in Debussy's work. And also it is often featured as a repertoire among classical pianos as a whole.In this arrangement, while respecting the original song, bold “reharmonization†(change of chord) is applied. And further, an opening section as fade-in effect and an ending section extending the aftertaste time are added. All of them are used for creating new attractive of this song. And, I am also inspired by the title “A sentimental promenade which had been named at the time of publication in 1900-1901. There are many weak sounds throughout this song, but each phrase requires a rich expression centered on romanticism. At the same time, it is also important for the phrase to be passed down smoothly, and especially in the middle part, a flowing propulsion is required. It is a depiction of the Paris Festival (Revolutionary Day) on July 14. Against the background of the first triplet, you can start to see fireworks shining in the distance. After getting closer and closer and launching it bigger, it's dizzying and colorful.It's changing to shine. Fanfare-style motifs that appear on the way are deployed in various ways, and they are magnificently reproduced at the climax at the end.And the French national anthem La Marseès concludes the song with a reverberation in the aftertaste.The whole scale and the tonic sound are skillfully combined, and the original song is very pianistic.I want to switch the tone and tempo firmly for each scene, and try to play crisp and colorful performances. Published by John Ivor Holland (A0.1382660). Mélanie Hélène Bonis, known as Mel Bonis (21 January 1858 – 18 March 1937), was a prolific French late-Romantic composer. She wrote more than 300 pieces, including works for piano solo and four hands, organ pieces, chamber music, mélodies, choral music, a mass, and works for orchestra. Though she did not have the advantage of being born into a family in the upper classes, her talent at piano led her to formal education at the Paris Conservatory where she studied with Ernest Guiraud and César Franck.  Claude Debussy was among her classmates and her music, which was largely published during her lifetime, was praised by Camille Saint-Saëns. Adoro te devote, a text by Thomas Aquinas, is one of the medieval poetic compositions, being used as spoken prayers and also as chanted hymns, which were preserved in the Roman Missal published in 1570 following the Council of Trent (1545–1563); the opus number for this lovely piece by Bonis, expanded from the original SATB to full concert band, is 149, suggesting that it was composed around the turn of the 20th century.

Giacommo Puccini, represents the union of Italian and German opera traditions, greatly influenced by Verdi, of whom he is considered his successor, and also by Wagner, Bizet, and Debussy. The main feature of his style was the eclecticism, the incorporation and assimilation of various languages and resources in his profession. Many of the musical concepts, as well as the connection between music and the stage, were the harbinger of what would rule in film music a few decades later. Puccini tooks from the French opera, under the influence of Bizet and Massenet, the taste for the exotic and historical location of his operas. In the case of Turandot, set in ancient China, the opera tells the story of the cruel princess Turandot who, in revenge for a sullied ancestor, beheads her suitors if three riddles are not answered. An unknown prince –Calaf– postulates by answering her three enigmas and challenging her to be the one to find out her name. Turandot orders that no one sleep in Peking until the name of the prince is known, Calaf, who has issued the challenge that if his name is not discovered, princess Turandot must marry him. At the beginning of the third act, the prince sings the aria –Nessun Dorma– convinced that the princess's efforts to discover his name will be in vain. Puccini began the composition in January 1921 and in March 1924 he had already completed the opera up to the final duet. However, a few months later he would pass away, leaving unfinished sketches of the end of Turandot. Franco Alfano was commissioned to finish it, premiering it two years later, in 1926. Currently, it is the fourth most performed Puccini opera worldwide, after the well-known trio La Boheme, Tosca and Madama Butterfly.

My imagination runs wild contemplating what may be pictured in de Falla’s music. It certainly seems to be a civic gathering: perhaps a wedding, a baptism, a dedication, or a feast taking place in the civic square of perhaps on a hacienda. There are scenes that may be dancing, speeches, passionate sonnets, arguments, celebrations, all ending in a lingering mysterious question with a tinge of hopefulness. Whatever Falla may have have had in mind it is full of life, drama, and humanity.I first became aware of de Falla’s work, particularly Andaluza, in the summer of 2021 during an online orchestration seminar. Each of Cuatro Piezas’s movements expresses Spanish folk music idioms through an impressionistic lens reflecting Debussy’s influence on de Falla. Andaluza immediately struck me as music that would shine in the realm of the concert band. It was a joy to explore de Falla’s music, transforming the implications of the piano stylings into the nuances and colors available to the modern wind ensemble. It was just as much if not more challenging to develop this arrangement than creating my own original music typically proves to be.
