It features a basic repeated melody played over and over again.This instrumental piece features an intro and a slight outro. The trumpet plays the main melody part which is supplemented by the marimba and the triangle adds a nice little touch to the entire thing to sound a bit vibrant.There is a modulation, to counter singing the song over and over again as well. I wrote this march over 12 years ago, when I was first getting into composing/arranging, and it was rather too 'busy'. Too many musicians doing too much. So I had another look and made it more playable by bands of a lesser technical aptitude.It is dedicated to all the volunteers, who give up their time, to make the Royal British Legion the steadfast organisation it has become. They truly are the unsung heroes of the charity. I hope this march pays them the compliment it is meant to. There will soon be a brass band version available.Page 11 is a useful advice sheet for printing.I hope your band enjoys playing it, be it on the march or a concert.

Published by John Ivor Holland (A0.1373472). Cloudbusting is a song written, produced and performed by English singer Kate Bush. It was the second single released from her fifth studio album 'Hounds of Love' (1985). Cloudbusting peaked at No. 20 on the UK Singles Chart. Taking inspiration from the 1973 Peter Reich memoir A Book of Dreams, the song is about the very close relationship between psychiatrist and philosopher Wilhelm Reich and his young son, Peter, told from the point of view of the mature Peter. It describes the boy's memories of his life with Reich on their family farm, called Orgonon, where the two spent time cloudbusting, a rain-making process which involved using a machine pointing at the sky. The lyrics further describe Reich's abrupt arrest and imprisonment, the pain of loss the young Peter felt, and his helplessness at being unable to protect his father. The predominant string texture has been retained in this concert band arrangement, transposed to a more band-friendly key and the thumping percussion recalls Kate Bush's megahit 'Running Up That Hill'. Arranged as part of a project to expand the repertoire of music for concert band by women composers.

It is somber, strong, and at times, serene and peaceful. This arrangement is of medium difficulty. The spotlight is on the low brass. There is also an arrangement of this piece for solo tuba and piano. Eternal Father, Strong to Save is a British hymn traditionally associated with seafarers, particularly in the maritime armed services. It was popularised by the Royal Navy and the United States Navy in the late 19th century, and variations of it were soon adopted by many branches of the armed services in the United Kingdom and the United States, including the United States Coast Guard and the United States Marine Corps. Owing to its nautical theme, this hymn has been played or sung at a number of funerals for those who have served in or been associated with the US Navy. Most notably, it was sung at the funerals of multiple US presidents, including Roosevelt, Richard Nixon, George H. W. Bush, and John F. Kennedy.

Variations on a Canarian Hymn grade 4, duration 11:00 was commissioned and composed for the Banda Muncipal of Tenerife, Spain, Filipe Neri, conductor. They premiered it on June 25, 2017. The American premiere was March 21, 2019 by the University of Wisconsin River Falls Symphony Band, Kristin Tjornehoj, Conductor.The Canary Islands is a region of Spain. The anthem used in the Canaries for local official occasions is an adaptation of a local folk song called Arrorró (Lullaby) by Teobaldo Power (1848 – 1884). Tenerife is the largest and most populated island of the seven Canary Islands. Tenerife has a special relation to Columbus and the New World as he first stopped in Tenerife on each of his passages before sailing to the New World. There is a plaque in the center of Tenerife city depicting this.Variations on a Canarian Hymnis in the classictheme and variations form, startingwith a presentation of the folk song in its entirety, then following with six variations of the folk song. Each variation displays different colors and moods of the symphonic band. The triumphal ending depicts the strength of the Canarian people. The piece features several instruments, some with extended solos including: flute, oboe, alto saxophone, horn, trumpet, trombone, clarinet, English horn and timpani. There are several cues in the parts to cover certain instruments that may not be available, such as English horn.

With this composition I wanted to pay tribute to an artist who was famous in his time and fell into oblivion until recent times when his figure has been recovered by various research works.May this work serve as a vindication of the great Marceline.The piece has an optimistic character and in its nearly five minutes of duration I make nods to circus music and the atmosphere of the shows in which Marceline participated.Marceline is the stage name of Marcelino Orbés. He was a Spanish clown, mime, acrobat, comic actor and circus artist, with American nationality since 1922, who is considered the best clown in the world of his time.Marceline was Spanish artist born in 1873 who performed in several European countries. Around 1895 he had success at the London Hippodrome and then enticed by producers Thompson and Dundy to come to the New York Hippodrome, where he arrived with great fanfare in 1905. He was a part of shows at the Hippodrome through 1915, by which time his pantomime routine and falling gags were falling out of favor with the public. He did reappear at the Hippodrome for some later shows in 1920-21 and 1922-23.Attempts to succeed in the restaurant business in New York and Connecticut both failed, and he lost money in real estate ventures. Out of work and out of savings, Marceline was found dead by suicide in his hotel room on November 5, 1927, with photographs of his glory days on the bed.Marceline was long admired by Charlie Chaplin, who worked with Marceline at the London Hippodrome from December 1900 to April 1901, and is one of just a few performers from this period of his life that Chaplin discusses in his autobiography. Chaplin recounts seeing him years later in the United States with a circus, and though expecting to see him be a featured star, was surprised to see him only amongst other clowns.

In the first half of the twentieth century, her desire to be both serious composer and mother was atypical, and she faced significant challenges – public and private – in blending these roles. Against the backdrop of an unhappy and unsupportive marriage and a society not yet ready to accept her creative ambitions and strong views on Australia’s musical development, she remained admirably steadfast in pursuing her goals. Sutherland created over two hundred compositions, ceaselessly campaigned on behalf of Australian music and musicians, and led the initial push to construct what is now Arts Centre Melbourne. In her attempts to redefine beauty in music she used idiosyncratic musical language, being at the mercy of ‘sound pictures’ and ‘floating ideas’. Not much is known about this particular piece, 'Bush Ballad', save that its opening folk-like melody and sinewy variations on it are rather wonderful and very indicative of Sutherland's style - certain portions of the score seemed to be missing, and there were several handwritten corrections, so a certain amount of reconstruction and editing has been necessary to present this arrangement for full band.

Before seeking revenge Santa Anna had accomplished a long felt desire to take over what was righteously his. This battle ended in a Mexican victory, making it an essential part of United States History. Containing Latin flourishes, this piece celebrates the lives lost, while vividly imagining a hot dry battlefield in Texas. Composer Jay Coles best puts this to a musical setting. Published by Edition Schwalbe (A0.1021849). Julius FuÄÃk (1872 - 1916) was a famous Austrian-Hungarian military bandmaster, who composed more than 400 pieces during his short lifetime. First of all he was known as a king of marches: His Florentiner March and Entry of the Gladiators had worldwide success, but also some of his overtures and waltzes became very popular. His concert march Under the Admiral's Flag was composed in 1911and had its first performance, when the Austrian-Hungarian battleship Viribus unitis premiered its launching in the former Austrian military habour of Pula in Istria. This arrangement keeps the key of the symphony orchestra version, while most band arrangements transpose a whole tone lower. This transcription was commissioned by Wind Philharmonic Mozarteum Salzburg and first performed conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their 2014 New Year's Concert on January 6th in Salzburg, Austria. Optional divisi in parts give the conductor flexibility to accommodate a variety of skill levels or create harmonies as desired. Enjoy as a fun piece for any young band concert!

When the Army Cadet Force in the area became part of the Royal Hampshires, the cadets were known as the ‘Young Tigers’.The piece was first performed at Royal Military School of Music Knellar Hall in October 2006 and then at the 10th Rorke’s Drift Concert held at the Theatr Brycheiniog, Brecon on 24 February 2007.This arrangement includes alternative parts for tenor horn, treble-clef trombone, euphonium and tuba.
