The lyrics were written by Katharine Lee Bates, and the music was composed by church organist and choirmaster Samuel A. Ward at Grace Episcopal Church in Newark, New Jersey. The two never met. Bates originally wrote the words as a poem, Pikes Peak, first published in the Fourth of July edition of the church periodical The Congregationalist in 1895. At that time, the poem was titled America for publication. Ward had originally written the music, Materna, for the hymn O Mother dear, Jerusalem in 1882, though it was not first published until 1892. Ward's music combined with the Bates poem was first published in 1910 and titled America the Beautiful. The song is one of the most popular of the many U.S. patriotic songs. There is also an optional Piano Part (Not shown on the score) and well as Optional String Parts (Not shown on the score) for an orchestral arrangement. Krebs Trio ♫ for Concert Band with Flexible Instrumentation ♫ by Johann Ludwig Krebs (1713-1780) ♫ arranged by Stephen R Dalrymple ♫ Johann Krebs was the son of a well-known organist. Krebs studied organ and composition with JS Bach and was highly commended by him. He was one of the most technically gifted young organists of his day, yet was never employed by a major church. Krebs held modest positions all of his life and he and his family of seven children struggled with poverty. ♫ Although underpaid according to his ability and training, Krebs produced a large body of work – 193 known scores. His compositions are judged to be of prime quality, superior enough for scholars to argue whether a piece was composed by him or Bach. His Toccata and Fugue in E for organ is counted one of the masterpieces in Baroque literature. His 2 concertos for lute show that he must have been an accomplished lute player. Krebs was born, studied, lived, & composed in or near Upper Saxony (much like Bach). ♫ Teaching band in a small school, I often needed flexible instrumentation to assure satisfaction for students when a full complement of instruments was not available. This Baroque work from pipe organ literature has been scored for 3 independent polyphonic voices plus an optional percussion part. This piece can be played with almost any combination of instruments or as a trio or quartet. I added an optional hand drum part so percussionists can also participate. Krebs Trio has been performed by my mid level band and a quintet of music educators at a school music benefit concert, and the fanfa at North Haiti Music Camp. ♫ Purchase price includes permission is granted to make photocopies of parts additional scores for a medium size school band.

Puer nobis nascitur, usually translated as Unto Us is Born a Son, is a medieval Christmas carol found in a number of manuscript sources - the 14th-century German Moosburg Gradual and a 15th-century Trier manuscript. The song was first published in the 1582 Finnish songbook Piae Cantiones, a volume of 74 medieval songs with Latin texts… The carol became popular as a processional hymn following a translation by George Ratcliffe Woodward (1859-1934) first published in 1902. Percy Dearmer also translated the hymn for inclusion in the 1928 Oxford Book of Carols as Unto Us a Boy is Born. Both translations are commonly used. [Wikipedia] This is the version of the words used here… Unto us a boy is born, King of all creation: Cradled in a stall was He, The Lord of every nation, The Lord of every nation. This arrangement is for both Concert Band and Orchestra – both instrumentations can be used or various combinations of each. There are both Vocal Lead Sheet and optional Organ/Piano part. Written in the style of nocturne, it is one of the most famous songs in Debussy's work. And also it is often featured as a repertoire among classical pianos as a whole.In this arrangement, while respecting the original song, bold “reharmonization†(change of chord) is applied. And further, an opening section as fade-in effect and an ending section extending the aftertaste time are added. All of them are used for creating new attractive of this song. And, I am also inspired by the title “A sentimental promenade which had been named at the time of publication in 1900-1901. There are many weak sounds throughout this song, but each phrase requires a rich expression centered on romanticism. At the same time, it is also important for the phrase to be passed down smoothly, and especially in the middle part, a flowing propulsion is required. A Concert band or large ensemble arrangement with the Slash Guitar solo of this awesome song by Guns N' Roses as a versatile option that can be performed with or without the added rhythm section. It is transcribed from the Album version so has the extra section in the middle which allows a true to the original performance with the full guitar solo. The original key of Db does pose a challenge for band members which transposed down to C and the arrangement for sale was performed with great success this summer to 800 people for an event with great results. It was easier to have the Lead guitarist down tune their guitar making it easier to learn quickly as a band. Many arrangements simply put in a repeat using the same music but this is a full arrangement encompassing the original song as close as possible. The rhythm section is fully written out for those musicians that don't read chords which are also included for more advanced musicians. The solo Guitar part is in the audio but there are more in depth transcriptions available from online sheet music Guitar specialist websites that will be a more accurate version. 'The Sidewinder' is a 1964 album by jazz trumpeter Lee Morgan, recorded in New Jersey, U.S. It was released on the Blue Note label and the title track is perhaps Morgan's all-around best-known composition; it would go on to become a jazz standard and was additionally released as a single, entering the Billboard Hot 100 in January 1965. Morgan recorded the track with tenor saxophonist Joe Henderson, pianist Barry Harris, double bassist Bob Cranshaw and drummer Billy Higgins. The album became Blue Note's best-selling record ever, breaking the previous sales record and saving the label from near bankruptcy. Record producer Michael Cuscuna recalls the unexpected success: the company issued only 4,000 copies upon release. Needless to say, they ran out of stock in three or four days. And 'The Sidewinder' became a runaway smash. The title track was used as the music in a Chrysler television advertisement during the 1965 Baseball World Series, without Morgan's permission; he threatened to sue, Chrysler agreed not to show the advertisement again and settled the case. This arrangement has been adapted from the jazz ensemble version by Mark Taylor, retaining solos for alto sax and trumpet, although an optional cut can be taken if necessary to skip these.
