Jazz swing style began in the United States in the 1930s. It was America's favorite popular music form from about 1935 to 1945. This piece is a tribute to that style. Escapade in Swing begins in a moderate, laid-back feel with an ample sprinkling of cool. The piece then changes to a much faster Lively, Driving Swing tempo. A four-measure transition separates the coolness of the first part from the heat of the second part.The second part includes 2-measure written solos for clarinet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, and euphonium. Some of these solos are cued in other instruments. Directors can use discretion in assigning the solos: Solo passages can be played as written or ad-libbed, and each written solo can be assigned as a section soli.Escapade in Swing provides ample opportunities to teach lessons in jazz style, jazz notation and techniques, maintaining a steady tempo, intonation, soli and ensemble playing, and improvisation. Be sure to begin and maintain (don't rush!) the initial tempo of M.M.=108. Establishing this tempo best ensures pleasing contrast with the faster section, beginning at measure 32.This exciting piece makes an excellent concert closer, and it will be well-received by toe-tapping players and by toetapping audiences.Relight this piece's sizzle with an encore! Strike up a searing finish by taking it from measure 78 with the repeat!

(2023). The song was written by the band members with James Abrahart, Jason Evigan, Rami Yacoub and Sarah Hudson, with production by Fabrizio Ferraguzzo, during a recording session in Los Angeles, California. The Loneliest was performed live for the first time during the group's performance at Underworld in London on 6 October 2022.The frontman Damiano David talked about the meaning of the song:Â Â The song is somewhere between a love letter and a will. I wrote it at a very difficult time in my life, when I was away from home and the people I love. The idea is: what would I want to say to these people if I were to die? It talks about feelings that everyone can relate to, and we would love to understand how different people understand the lyrics. We are happy that we were able to take some time to write a lot of new music. Jazz swing style began in the United States in the 1930s. It was America's favorite popular music form from about 1935 to 1945. This piece is a tribute to that style. Escapade in Swing begins in a moderate, laid-back feel with an ample sprinkling of cool. The piece then changes to a much faster Lively, Driving Swing tempo. A four-measure transition separates the coolness of the first part from the heat of the second part.The second part includes 2-measure written solos for clarinet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, and euphonium. Some of these solos are cued in other instruments. Directors can use discretion in assigning the solos: Solo passages can be played as written or ad-libbed, and each written solo can be assigned as a section soli.Escapade in Swing provides ample opportunities to teach lessons in jazz style, jazz notation and techniques, maintaining a steady tempo, intonation, soli and ensemble playing, and improvisation. Be sure to begin and maintain (don't rush!) the initial tempo of M.M.=108. Establishing this tempo best ensures pleasing contrast with the faster section, beginning at measure 32.This exciting piece makes an excellent concert closer, and it will be well-received by toe-tapping players and by toetapping audiences.Relight this piece's sizzle with an encore! Symphonie fantastique is a piece of program music that tells the story of an artist gifted with a lively imagination who has poisoned himself with opium in the depths of despair because of hopeless, unrequited love. Berlioz provided his own preface and program notes for each movement of the work. Convinced that his love is spurned, the artist poisons himself with opium. The dose of narcotic, while too weak to cause his death, plunges him into a heavy sleep accompanied by the strangest of visions. He dreams that he has killed his beloved, that he is condemned, led to the scaffold and is witnessing his own execution. The procession advances to the sound of a march that is sometimes sombre and wild, and sometimes brilliant and solemn, in which a dull sound of heavy footsteps follows without transition the loudest outbursts. At the end of the march, the first four bars of the idée fixe reappear like a final thought of love interrupted by the fatal blow. Berlioz claimed to have written the fourth movement in a single night, reconstructing music from an unfinished project, the opera Les francs-juges. The movement begins with timpani sextuplets in thirds, for which he directs: The first quaver of each half-bar is to be played with two drumsticks, and the other five with the right hand drumsticks. The movement proceeds as a march filled with blaring horns and rushing passages, and scurrying figures that later show up in the last movement. NOTES: - The two timpani part can be played by only the 2 pairs of timpani. - Measure 93 and 100: Clarinet 1, 2 and 3 play one octave lower as written.
