This enclosure is to provide you with a record ofyour legal purchase in case keeping the parts in your possession was everquestioned.Also, please find below some comments from Dr. Jon Ceander Mitchell of theUniversity of Massachusetts at Boston who conducted me performing theconcerto in April, 2012. His suggestions and errata information will hopefullylend assistance to you as you prepare for your concert.Quoting five Major points:1) There must be at least one very strong 2nd violin player as some melodies areintroduced from there.2) Trumpets can double the horns at the octave, though only in spots and verydiscreetly, and not playing at all in the second movement. It is most unusual tohave timpani but no trumpets.3) 2nd movement halfway through, the descending viola line that needs to becompleted by a cellist. [p.38, 5 before E, one cellist to play f-B-Csharp 8ths]4) An A sharp in the solo line in 1st movement that is critical; otherwise it soundsbluesy [p. 30,5 after H].5) Missed accidentals in 1st violin in the 3rd movement [p. 43, 2nd and 3rd mmand p. 51, 3rd and 4th mm. This is a new and exciting orchestral arrangement of the European Anthem, adopted by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in January 1972. This arrangement would be ideal for concert or ceremonial events and is playable by any competent orchestra. The complete PDF file contains a 19-staff full score, and parts for 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets in B flat, bassoons, 3 trumpets in B flat, 4 horns in F, 3 trombones, tuba, timpani, percussion (3 players) and strings. The melody of this anthem is taken from the last movement of Beethoven's Symphony No 9, Op 125, often known as the Choral Symphony and it's a setting of Schiller's poem Ode to Joy. The symphony was completed in 1824.

[p.38, 5 before E, one cellist to play f-B-Csharp 8ths]4) An A sharp in the solo line in 1st movement that is critical; otherwise it soundsbluesy [p. 30,5 after H].5) Missed accidentals in 1st violin in the 3rd movement [p. 43, 2nd and 3rd mmand p. 51, 3rd and 4th mm. C naturals].

To play it is to be taken inside a sound world greater than the instrument itself. In other words, it seems to demand orchestration. Whether the fanfare call of Puckâ??s Dance, the sotto voce flurries evoking The Wind Over The Plains, or the deepest and highest reaches of the musical spectrum explored in the under-water world of The Sunken Cathedral, Debussyâ??s music seems to drop hints at obvious orchestral manoeuvres. His great skill, of course, was condensing these musical ideas to the piano. But the fruit is there fo the taking, and indeed other orchestrations exist of the complete suite of piano preludes â?? Books I and II. So, why another?This particular suite cherry-picks some of my own favourite movements from the suite, and arranges them in a â??symphonicâ?? structure to present an opening, expository movement (The Wind Over The Plains), a romantic Adagio (The Girl With The Flaxen Hair), a sprightly â??scherzoâ?? (Puckâ??s Dance), concluding with an epic finale (The Sunken Cathedral).
