Full Orchestra - Level 3 - SKU: A0.823515 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Damiano Drei. Classical,Multicultural,Patriotic,Romantic Period,Standards,World. Score and parts. 44 pages. Damiano Drei #3382707. Published by Damiano Drei (A0.823515). This arrangement is made for a generic music school orchestra, so the instrumentation is made flexible to suits many different formation. The winds and brass parts are quite the same, so you can freely remove or double some of them. This arrangement is totally playable without the strings session, but not viceversa. If you have others percussions in your band, feel free to add them, al following the same part. Basses part are playable by double bass, electric bass or/and tuba. The arrangement sounds very good also if you have a jazz band and all the classic instruments are missing: brasses and saxes can sustain all the piece.

Full Orchestra - Level 5 - SKU: A0.1004734 Composed by Adrian Gagiu. 20th Century,Classical. Score and parts. 524 pages. Adrian Gagiu #6631587. Published by Adrian Gagiu (A0.1004734). Fourth Symphony in E flat major Homage to Beethoven (2003, revised 2021), a Neo-Classical symphony based on Beethoven's sketches for his Tenth Symphony, like a speculative reconstruction. In 1822-1827, the fascinating Tenth Symphony (Biamonti 838) was one of Beethoven’s relatively advanced projects, but still it was at the beginning of its elaboration. The material is not quite abundant, and many secondary features in the concept sketches could have been modified, according to his working habits, should he have lived a few years more. For a true reconstruction, the sketches are too scarce, but they are also too good to be left aside and very stimulating for a composer, especially for one whose formation is indebted to Beethoven and who is willing to pay him homage. I have chosen a Neo-Classical idiom, an approach analogous to Stravinsky’s The Fairy’s Kiss (after Tchaikovsky). For such a work, the thorough study of fundamental articles on Beethoven’s projects and sketches (by Barry Cooper, Sieghard Brandenburg, Robert Winter, Martin Staehelin, Nicholas Cook, and Lewis Lockwood) was a necessity. Then, in 2021, the symphony was heavily revised, mainly to make it terser and truer to the sketches and to Classical practices For this symphony, all the thematic material is Beethoven’s, and also the general outline, as much as the latter could be inferred from his sketches. In its revised version, I made use only of the sketches clearly identifiable as intended for the Tenth Symphony and dating from 1822 and later years (most of the themes of its corresponding movements), but also of a few other sketches, most of them contemporary or relatable, unused or intended for other compositions: in the continuation to the second subject group in the first movement, in the second strains of the Presto and of its Trio, and in the transitions and the episodes in the Finale. The symphony has 4 movements and is scored for a normal concert orchestra, including 3 trombones. The revised version makes use also of a contrabassoon, to support the double basses and suggesting a stronger presence of the winds like in the larger scale concerts in the Classical era (usually with doubled winds).Total duration: 34 min. Performing Rights Organization: SOCAN. The mp3 audio clip is a recording of the first movement (Andante-Allegro-Andante).

She was 91 and had been poorly with many different illnesses for the previous 6 months, so we knew it was coming. But the timing and unfathomable sadness of her death, together with the start of a worldwide pandemic, little did I know it at the time, was to bring forth from me a tsunami of music the likes of which I hadn’t written for many years. A set of six solo studies for various members of the clarinet family came first, written between March 20th and April 20th. As I wrote them they were orchestrating themselves in my head and forming something else as well. That “something else†grew and grew, as the Six Studies intertwined themselves around each other and expanded together, joining forces with two brand new themes to form what soon was to become an immense orchestral work. The title was easy. Glastry is a tiny district in the middle of the Co.Down countryside of Northern Ireland, where my Mum was born and brought up. And Pearl was her name. Her full name was actually Margaret Mary Ward (eventually to become Denny when she married my Dad, Colum Denny, from Belfast), but everyone always called her Pearl. The nickname was bestowed upon her just after she was born on February 28th 1929 and stuck ever since. The Glastry Pearl is a tribute to my Mum and the great and mighty person she was to me and all who knew her. It employs at least one theme or motif from each of the Six Studies For Various Solo Clarinets and uses them throughout the work in the from of Leitmotifs. It was only when the work was nearing completion that I began to wonder how to describe it. Freddy Naftel, a good composer friend of mine, suggested that Tone Poem was a fitting description and I immediately agreed. The music itself is completely tonal and highly Romantic, yet also peppered with exciting contemporary disonance. I believe it to be a good, and hopefully fun, challenge to symphony orchestras, both professional and high standard amateur alike. It offers everything from the the somber opening to the hilarious and wildly energetic central Waltz, to the glorious soaring final section, so plenty of variety to please many palates.

Full Orchestra - Level 5 - SKU: A0.1009811 Composed by Phillip S. Ledesma. 20th Century,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 11 pages. Phillip Steven Ledesma #1919003. Published by Phillip Steven Ledesma (A0.1009811). Full Orchestral Score. Marches is the 2nd movement to the 1st symphony. In contrast to the more sublime Ruhevoll (and the 4th movement Molto Adagio) Marches utilizes many aspects of the march in various settings, from large brass and woodwind circus venues to trios of soloists, while also encompassing the somber funeral procession. Marches opens the brass and low strings in a dogfight; the brass fire short staccato blasts as 'cellos and basses answer with long lyrical lines setting the pace until the cat and mouse game ends with the low strings driving their way to the trio. When the three soloists finish their introductory theme they are answered by the full orchestra taking the theme and surrounding it with all the boisterous bells and whistles of a circus march! But the reality is that marches are - at their core - war music, and the waste that war causes has to be addressed in the funeral march. These themes are all cycled through once again, with a coda that cleverly ties things up.

Full Orchestra - Level 3 - SKU: A0.809889 Composed by Robert E. Proctor. Blues,Contemporary. Score and parts. 270 pages. R. E. Proctor #4800403. Published by R. E. Proctor (A0.809889). This concerto is in the traditional three movement format with the first and third movements being fast and the middle movement slow. The second and third movements are most like a blues work. The first movement is a rondo format, is not particularly bluesy. A Les Paul™ guitar would play particularly well in this movement. The second movement switches between the soloist as the distorted guitar sound to the vocalist as the clean guitar sound. The final movement is happy, upbeat, and lively good time blues. In the second and third movements in particular, the basses (cello, double bass) should be easily heard. At the end of the third movement, the precisionist on the drum set should improvise a loud, untimed measure, solo utilizing all the drums and cymbals in the set ending with four moderately paced and slowing beats on the snare drum. A momentary pause, then the final chord. The guitarist will need at least one foot pedal for distortion enabling him/her to switch between a clean sound and a distorted sound. The guitar should be the equivalent of a Fender™ Stratocaster or Telecaster guitar; a Gibson™ Les Paul would do nicely also. The music is partially fingered leaving the player the opportunity to interpret the part. The work is after the fashion of Chicago style blues of the 1960’s. The conductor and guitarist may wish to listen to recordings by the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, John Lee Hooker, John Mayall and the Blues Breakers, B.B. King, etc. to get a feel for the music of the 1960’s blues bands. It would be highly desirable to use an organ, for the 3rd movement, that can produce a Hammond B3™ with Leslie sound, as that instrument was widely used in blues of that period. Although some of the notes notated as harmonics (h) in the score can be played as fretted notes, playing them as natural and artificial harmonics provides an interesting change of tonality. The orchestral part is not particularly challenging. The concerto is approx. 17 minutes in length.

Full Orchestra - SKU: A0.746748 Composed by Keith Terrett. Contemporary,World. 33 pages. Keith Terrett #3129265. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.746748). ere at last is my ’’Elegy sentimentale’’ for orchestra, and my first original composition (opus 1), for full symphony orchestra.I hope it makes an excellent piece for amateur and professional orchestras alike; with some challenging and interesting string, woodwind and brass writing for all.I envisage the ’’Elegy’’ eventually making a good piece of film music, and in consequence any directors or producers looking for a movie theme; please feel free to contact me!Elegy Sentimenatle is a mournful & melancholic work, suited for performances on the concert platform.A Supreme Work of Art!The Elegy Sentimentale opens impressively. Keith Terrett plants a C deep in virgin soil; orchestrated brilliantly for bassoon, harp and delineated by pizzicato double basses this bass line is a tree of a forest; and we are at once held by the strength of the roots. The tonality is immediately clear, and there is a grand feeling of space and power in the wide layout of the score. A lone solo clarinet high in the tessitura accompanied by a solo cello with a counter subject state the opening eight bar theme which embodies the seeds of two ideas, which supplies the generating force for the slightly agitated Piu Mosso which follows. The counter subject given by the solo cello at the beginning is now reiterated by the plaintive voice of a solo oboe and a third motif makes an appearance in the solo clarinet; oboe and clarinet duet beautifully over arpeggiated rhythmic impulses in the harp. A new subject of an accompanying nature, derived from all the material thus far presented now comes off at a tangent on the strings cascading downwards and accompanying woodwind who, play the chief melodic subject while horns cry in anguish. This first section is then repeated; I found the whole experience spiritual, detached and wondering, intensified by the breath-taking stillness. Mr Terrett in the middle section that follows now uses his full orchestral forces; after a key change the emotional charge that follows is cataclysmic in its cry of anguish; the main theme is stated in a full dress orchestral tutti, which is then repeated. The music ebbs and flows with slight variations in the woodwind recalling the main ideas; at the very end high strings bring consolation and finally peace. Keith Terrett shows an admirable command of orchestration and melodic construction and combines these qualities with rare imagination and insight.Gerald Manning

Full Orchestra - Level 5 - SKU: A0.1017072 Composed by Eoin Buchanan. Contemporary. Score and parts. 87 pages. 7plc Music #6079111. Published by 7plc Music (A0.1017072). At the centre of the Norfolk city of Norwich lies Tombland. The name evokes thoughts of haunting, death and Black Plague burial pits. Actually Tombland simply means empty space and it was here that Norwich market was sited. Violence seems to have been a recurring theme in the history of Tombland. In 1549 Robert Kett led a rebellion against the enclosure of common land. After a fierce attack on Bishop Bridge, Kett and his band of followers gained access to the city and took the Mayor, Thomas Codd, prisoner. Having spent a number of years as a clergyman in the Diocese of Norwich, I can tell you that this area is very different nowadays. However, its Normal cathedral and older buildings still offer a sense of struggles past, present and future. Inspired by Ray Sampson’s book, Tombland, this original work for full orchestra uses harmonic and rhythmic dissonance to portray the violent and oppressive struggle between those with and ‘those without. The blacksmith’s anvil heralds village life with church bells sounding and flute introducing children playing in the village square. Very quickly the scene changes as Basses offer a deep threatening tone and slowly the rhythmic confusion builds to an eventual climax. Horns then introduce a quasi carillon Dies Irae theme and flutes and piccolo enter with a haunting bird call until low strings and Cor Anglais begin the build up to chaos once again. The work’s false, dying ending suddenly gives way to a sacred style chorale leading to the very abrupt Malcolm Arnold style ending.
