Intermediate in difficulty level, the tune is equally split between 1st and 2nd piano. (The digital audio clip starts from page 5 to the end with the tune in the r.h. of both parts). Ideal repertoire for High School piano students and especially useful in all church music ministry programs as a postlude or where additional devotional music is required. I got the Burnt Toast Blues - oh yeah!...Burnt Toast Blues is a catchy swing number for beginner (primo) players at about the Grade 1 (ABRSM) standard.The primo player starts off the whole piece with a 3 quaver 'pickup' into the melody, which is written in treble and bass clefs - but played two octaves higher.The written quaver quarter-notes are swung in the jazz style and there are some syncopated rhythms to keep you on your toes. Try saying badoo-bedoooooo-bee-doo and you'll get the idea!Burnt Toast Blues comes with a playalong swing backing track to accompany the primo player. This track has bass, drums and guitar 'rhythm' section plus the secondo part and is also available on Sheet Music Plus.Watch out for the dynamics (mp on the repeat) and also the staccato and accented notes, which will help the swing rhythm to 'swing'. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.596575). About the title: - First of all, entradora is an adjective that can be applied to a femenine noun. (In Spanish you have different declinations for masculine and femenine adjectives). The masculine version is entrador. - Second, entradora can be understood in this context as a substantivized adjective, i.e. a word that is actually an adjective, but is used as if it were a noun, like if I say Now I will play 'Entradora'. (for a more scientific explanation check yor favorite English grammar book). - Third, entradora is a wink to Argentine composer Julián Plaza, who used adjectives as one-word title of several of his milongas and tangos, for instance Nocturna, DanzarÃn, Melancólico, Melancólica, Sensiblero, Nostálgico, Disonante, Dominguera, Expresivo, Futura, Instrumental, Juguetón, Paseandera, Payadora, Solemne, Temperamental - and possibly others that I am not aware of. - And fourth, the meaning of the word entradora in the coloquial Spanish of Argentina is this one: if applied to a person, is someone that easily makes friends, that wins the trust of the people very easily, who is very charming. I applied to an object (or to a melody) it means that it is easy to grasp, that you remember it immediately (as an earworm), that is accessible and uncomplicated. - Oh, there is a fifth point: are you native (or good) English speaker? After all this explanation do you come to an understandable translation of this word, Entradora? If yes, let me know!The milonga Entradora was composed in Bremen, Germany, from 10 to 13 November 2018. Duration: around 2'15. This traditional melody has been arranged to be playable by two pianists at differing early stages of development: the primo calls for the beginner level (level I), whereas the secondo places more advanced technical demands (ranging from levels II-III). Stylistically, the arrangement evokes both the early modernism of Erik Satie (specifically the harmonies, meter, and texture of his famous Gymnopedies) and, in the refrain (two statements), straightforward harmonies and counterpoint more directly suggestive of traditional common practice.
