Published by Daniel C. M. (A0.810056). This work is attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach. It is used the name of the now attributed composer Christian Petzold for there is new information about him. This arrangement is written for four hands (two players, one piano). The difficulty level is basically easy as the original for both parts. The articulations are meticulously written to help to get a better approach to the style but, of course, it's only a guide that can be changed. The PDF file has the score with parte prima and seconda in the same page and it has too the both parts separately so the players can choose which one is better for them. The fingering is included.

Nocturne is basically a segue to the first movement, in which Marie yawns and goes back to sleep! The harmonies are rich and yet somnolent. 3. Camp David is a sprightly number based on the Yiddish folksong Ikh bin a meidel in de joren - I am a maiden come of age and I am looking for a husband. 4. Blue Boar Blue is based on a poem by a friend stuck studying in his college room (Blue Boar Quad at Christ Church Oxford) but dreaming of sunny outings to the river and punting. The sound samples are electronic previews. In the case of the 4-hands versions, the pdf files include the score and also separate piano parts. The original string quintets are also available on this site.

This advanced duet is primarily inspired by the carol He Is Born, but also contains many references to Bring a Torch, Jeannette, Isabelle. Both melodies are explored in several minor modes before He Is Born is finally presented in its familiar, major tonality.Careful pedaling is essential to keep the running lines clear and to allow staccato articulations to pop against legato melody lines. The melodies move through several ranges of the keyboard and across both players, requiring the musicians to be aware of balance within their own parts and across the instrument.The PDF file is formatted to be printed double-sided. Once printed and bound, odd numbered pages (including the cover page) should be on the right (where the primo player sits), and even numbered pages should be on the left (where the secondo player sits). How a Rose E'er Blooming, which would fit well into either a contemplative moment of worship or an intimate moment of a concert. The gentle treatment lends itself to both the Advent and Christmas seasons.Beginning with an ebb and flow of both dynamics and tempo, this arrangement comes back to a flowing eighth note motif between verses and at its conclusion. The first verse features a baroque-style treatment as it plays with the third line of the melody before returning to the first style in its conclusion. The second verse is carried by a staccato accompaniment as the melody moves ahead in 3/4.The PDF file is formatted to be printed double-sided. Once printed and bound, odd numbered pages (including the cover page) should be on the right (where the primo player sits), and even numbered pages should be on the left (where the secondo player sits). Alternatively, if two pianos are being used, the file can be printed single-sided and the parts separated out; the primo player will have the odd numbered pages, and the secondo player will have the even numbered pages.

From the beginning, this duet is exuberant and joyful.  A chromatic introduction, a driving accompaniment, and fast scales and arpeggios characterize the first verse. Hearkening back to the melody’s Spanish roots, the second verse takes the form of a mysterious habanera.  Full piano scales for both pianists bring in verse three, which features hints of the original accompaniment pattern.Included in the download file is the full score and performance notes with lyrics. Although both parts are for advanced pianists, the primo part is somewhat more difficult than the secundo, containing most of the scales and arpeggios. Permission for 2 copies of the PDF is granted, as long as the second copy is used for home rehearsal only.
