This order contextualizes the melodic and harmonic structures so that the performer begins to develop a natural sense of how the scales and arpeggios function within a tonal framework. The scales and arpeggios are divided into three large units that include both major and minor keys, easy and difficult keys. The close relationship of each key is emphasized to build automaticity in fingering patterns. Enharmonic keys are represented in both spellings and non-diatonic scales such as whole tone and chromatic scales are spelled as they would be found in each of the fifteen key signatures. The use of octave designation symbols is avoided so that the player is able to acclimate themselves to the many ledger lines sometimes found in flute music. This is an essential book for any serious flute player who wishes to build reading acuity and fluency in any tonal setting.

Due to health problems, however, he had to end his career as a violin virtuoso prematurely. He subsequently made a name for himself as a composer and conductor. In 1923 he composed six solo sonatas, including Obsession, which have a high status in violin literature.The name of this second sonata could come from Ysaÿe's obsessive preoccupation with Johann Sebastian Bach. The sonata begins with the unmistakable sequence of tones of the Prelude from the Partita in E major, BWV 1006. Abruptly, almost as a shock, this theme is replaced by the ancient Dies Irae sequence from the Mass for the Dead.I adapted the first movement of Obsession, which has no double stops, for the flute. The arrangement was first played publicly on October 19, 2014 in the Giacometti Hall, Zurich, and was subsequently published on YouTube.

The present collection was the result of research and dedication, in order to analyze and select well known and well executed works, for this instrument (flute), unfortunately, it was necessary to leave some better known works out of the collection, such as: Septet in E flat, Opus 20, and the themes of the Opera Fidelio, Opus 72b, as soon as, these are not so favorable for execution on wind instruments, as well as they are of high difficulty.The purpose of this work is for beginners and interediate practitioners on wind instruments, and it can be used effectively by teachers and musical educators who need a material of easy accessibility, as well as good reading and interpretation quality. This material also has the aid of a cipher to be used in accompaniment of a harmonic instrument, because there is not always the availability of a professional pianist to accompany the student.
