I've added the original 'Amen' ending as I think it finishes the piece nicely. .

The greatest church in the greatest city of Europe. Freedom of intellectual thought. A Venetian School of composers at the forefront of musical innovation. The printing press and musical publishing. A Doge (Chief Magistrate or Duke) willing to spend, and spend big, on musical pomp and ceremony. A dearth of wealth and money to fund the grandest celebrations. He was the leading Italian composer and organist in Venice at its greatest heights at the chasm between the end of the Renaissance and the beginning of the Baroque period in music. Presented here is the 27th Canzona published around 1608 for 3 trumpets and 5 trombones to be played as a single ensemble. A variety of substitute parts are also included to handle the trombone parts with any combination of cornets, French horns or tuba. This piece presents a wonderful dance-like chanson in 3/4 time that leads to a triumphant finish. A nice showpiece for the brass!

These can be played by 3 trumpets, horns, 3 trombones or any combination. Part three also has an optional tuba part.

The original Old Glory was a flag owned by the 19th-century American sea captain William Driver (March 17, 1803 – March 3, 1886), who flew the flag during his career at sea and later brought it to Nashville, Tennessee, where he settled.That of course, is the historic description. The greatest church in the greatest city of Europe. Freedom of intellectual thought. A Venetian School of composers at the forefront of musical innovation. The printing press and musical publishing. A Doge (Chief Magistrate or Duke) willing to spend, and spend big, on musical pomp and ceremony. A dearth of wealth and money to fund the grandest celebrations. He was the leading Italian composer and organist in Venice at its greatest heights at the chasm between the end of the Renaissance and the beginning of the Baroque period in music. Presented here is a wonderful Canzona published around 1615 for 10 brass with substitute parts for trumpets and trombones. The 4th Trombone part can also be played with Tuba if so desired. A great representative work of Gabrieli’s, this piece presents a 1 bar dance-like rhythm that is repeated and underscored throughout. After many variations, a chanson-like dance theme can be heard followed by a final presentation of the original melody that heads to a grand conclusion. An impressive and fun work for almost any church or concert setting.

The melody (possibly a love song to his wife, Alma) is characterized by sighing motive and long suspensions which are stretched to their breaking point before they resolve. This unique and beautiful arrangement includes an optional Harp part. The combination of brass and harp is amazing! The audio sample includes both versions for you to hear: first without Harp, and then with the Harp. There is nothing like the sound of Mahler performed on brass.
