La Rejouissance (from Heroic Music) - Georg Philipp Telemann - Brass Choir - Intermediate - .Heroic Music (or Heldenmusik) is a suite of twelve short marches and processionals, written by Georg Philipp Telemann in 1728 and is associated with various attributes of Heroism such as Dignity, Bravery and Alertness. All twelve movements have now been transcribed and arranged by Regis Booksgar to be played by Trumpet Quintets or Brass Quinets. Some of them have also been arranged for Sextets, Septets, Octets, Nonets and Brass Choirs. Some also include a Timpani. They can be purchased individually, or, if you prefer, as a complete set of all twelve at a huge saving.Any of these selections would be a wonderful addition to any music library. They are perfectly suited to recitals and public peformances, can stand alone as short interludes and are generally well received by audiences. They are suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing these arrangements. These selections are some of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time. In the past, these compositions have often been performed by a soloist playing on a Piccolo Trumpet, but these new arrangements are Bb Trumpet friendly as one player stated after playing through them, making them much easier for most high school students.This selection, La Rejouissance (from Heroic Music), is arranged for a Brass Choir, with parts for 3 Bb Trumpets, 1 French Horn, 1 Trombone, 1 Euphonium and 1 Tuba, and is associated with the heroic quality of Joy. There is also a version which includes a Timpani, if you would prefer. The parts may be doubled as needed. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (15 pages).Many of these selections are readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may find something else that may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as well, as there are numerous selections in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. A Piacere was a phrase used in the 19th century to leave the interpretation of a musical passage up to the player. In this piece, this is done by leaving an improvising soloist to play as he or she wants accompanied by a large brass and percussion ensemble. The brass ensemble plays written rhythmic and melodic cells, the order of which is indicated in concert by the conductor. A Piacere was a Commande d'Etat, from the French government in 1996. Depending on the improvisations, the duration is between 20-30 minutes. Explanations are to be found at the end of the score.A Piacere was premiered by Michel Godard, tuba soloist with the ensemble A Piacere, Philippe Barthod, conductor at Contrexeville, France on October 29, 1996.

See also the Brass Canon-Parts. This is a musical canon, for brass. What else would I call it? It's for 4 horns, 3 trumpets, 3 trombones, euphonium, tuba and tympani (F2 to Ab3). It's just over two minutes long, but very contrapuntal and a challenge. But playable, with rehearsal. Take it a section at a time, and insiste the others listen. Every theme they play is echoed by others, so once they hear the tuba solo in the beginning, everyone should just copy it, in their own octave and key. LOTS of modulations. Again, they'll groan but they'll learn things. And they'll.

Antonio Vivaldi's Concerto for Two Trumpets in C with Brass Ensemble and Timpani is a rarity for the Baroque era when solos for brass instruments were almost non-existent. The valveless nascent Trumpets were very difficult to play. But as with Bach, there must have been a few brave souls who mastered the instrument and inspired the composer to write his inspired work.As with most of Vivaldi's concertos, this one begins with a quick and sparkling movement to catch the attention of the audience and to showcase the bright tones of the solo trumpets. This is followed by a contrasting brief and languid second movement. The final movement is back to brilliant mode with quick energy and intricate passages for the soloists. (Encylopedia Britannica).Niels-Ole Bo Johansen has created a very unique arrangement for the two solo Trumpets with Brass Ensemble and Timpani...unique in that the accompaniment instruments are almost all conical (except for the trombones who can blend nicely into that pool of round sounds). This gives the listener a sharp contrast between the brilliance of the soloists and the plush sound of the accompaniment.The 6 1/2 minute work is appropriate for advanced performers. The instrumentation is for: 2 solo Trumpets in A, 2 Cornets in B-flat, Flugelhorn, 2 Horns in F, 3 Trombones, Euphonium, 2 Tubas, and Timpani.

The Euphoniums play the role of the Mariachi Trumpets from the original recording. The range of the solo is only up to the fourth space G in the staff. The range of the other three parts is also moderate. Ring Of Fire could be performed with two Euphoniums and Bb or C on the 2nd part and any Tuba on the solo part. This book has posed some issues as it is such complex music it is almost impossible to cut it down to 5 parts while maintaining its integrity. As a result, some songs will be in 6 or more parts.Perchè Fuggi is a duet for two tenors, The title translates as Why do you flee? . In it, the poet is sad that the object of his desire runs away and hides when he tries to kiss her.I decided to use two euphoniums/baritones for the soloists, with the accompaniment managed by 1 cornet/trumpet, a horn and a tuba. I managed to retain the quintet as the accompaniment is very simple, almost 'secco' in styleThe seventh book is quite a change from the earlier ones. Monteverdi seems to be concentrating on developing solos and duets, trios and small accompanied ensembles. The accompaniments are often written out with more than just long note chords. The intricate instrumental parts are more than just filling in the harmony (hence the difficulty in paring them down.)Once again, these songs are exquisitely crafted and travel well onto brass.

He has also conducted many of the world's great orchestras, including the London Symphony, Royal Philharmonic, London Philharmonic, Sydney Symphony and Stuttgart Philharmonic in both classical and pop recordings and performances.Bright Eyes is a song written by Mike Batt and performed by Art Garfunkel. It was written for the soundtrack of the 1978 British animated adventure drama film Watership Down. Full of semiquavers and scales rushing up to the top of the range of the instrument, there can be no doubt that the tuba is the star of the show. The solo part is carefully thought through with enough rests to make it approachable, while the syncopation in the other parts give the music an energy that is maintained to the very final flourish, instigated by a demisemiquaver scale run on the tuba! Intermediate and above ensemble parts, but the solo tuba part needs a fairly skilled and confident player to get the most out of this piece.
