Various articles in specialized journals and sites have cited the composer, such as the Flutist Quarterly (Circus Brasilis - The flute music of Sergio Roberto de Oliveira), Early Music America (Something New for Early Music), Andante.com (The heirs of Villa-Lobos), 21st Century Music, Musicabrasileira.org, etc. Sergio Roberto de Oliveira has frequently been invited to lecture at American universities, and has spoken at more than a dozen institutions including Princeton and Duke. In 2009 he was Artist-in-Residence at Duke University. In addition the USA and the UK, Oliveira's music has also been played in many countries, with invitations for concerts exclusively with his music in México, Italy and Holland (Amsterdam). The Spanish Magazine Sonograma has published 2 interviews with Sergio.Sergio is the founder and a member of the group of composers Prelúdio 21. The group is one of the most active worldwide. It holds a distinguished place in Brazilian contemporary music, having been active for 15 consecutive seasons, with a permanent series of monthly concerts since 2008. In 2011 the group released the CD String Quartets, with performances by the Quarteto Radamés Gnattali. Oliveira is also a member of the group of composers Vox Novus, based in New York.To commemorate 15 years of activity as a composer, Oliveira released a box set with 4 CDs, as well as a CD with composer Mark Hagerty, and produced the series QUINZE, with 13 concerts including his works, between July and October of 2012. More than 130 musicians, including 28 composers, participated of QUINZE (CDs and series).His discography includes 14 CDs as producer, 14 as composer, 22 as general producer, 2 as arranger and 2 as pianist. His catalog of compositions includes approximately 115 works for various ensembles, including Symphony Orchestra. Sergio Roberto de Oliveira is a member of the Latin Academy of the Arts and Science of Recording.He died from pancreatic cancer in 2017.

The short mesure off my Lady Wynkfylds rowndeIn English Keyboard Music Before the Nineteenth Century John Caldwell writes: ‘There can be little doubt that this music was intended for performance at the court of Henry VIII.’ Caldwell goes on to say that this tune may have been composed by Hugh Aston (born c1485 – buried 17 November 1558, so presumably – we would hope – he died a short time before that).It's a pretty tune to which I’ve composed a counterpoint. I’ve also added chord names for those who want them.

Stefano Maria Torchio: ScherzinoAs the title says (engl.: little scherzo), it's a small, playful, light and bouncy piece, that features a free atonal style and funny asimmetrical rhythms and metrics. It's not difficult but it could be wise to practice it slower at first, in order to check careful the intonation and the correct smooth and legato articulation between the fingers of left hand of the Violin player. The most careful precision in rhythm and differentiation between the articulations (that in general tends to a light staccato) is required.The piece is also suitable for school pourposes and concerts and also for liturgical ones (for example at the offertory or as final piece) by special festive occasion. Primarily it was composed for a wedding ceremony and it was for Piano and Organ and for Church Bell Carillon.Composer's dataStefano Maria Torchio, born in Padova (Italy), studied Orchestra and Choir Conducting at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna respectively with U. Lajovic, J. Wildner, E. Ortner and T. Lang. Further studies in Conducting pursued Torchio with Z. Metha, F. Luisi, R. Muti, B. de Billy, S. Young and G. Andretta, as well as with R. Heintze for the Piano, C. Leitner for Opera Conducting and A. Huber for the Musical Analysis. He also studied Composition and Violin at the Conservatory of his home town and with A. Corghi at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, at the Accademia L. Perosi in Biella and at the R. Romanini Foundation in Brescia. Further seminars in Composition followed with C. Ambrosini, I. Fedele, M. Lichtfuss and I. Karchim. Between his Violin teachers S. Domoustchieva, E. Porta, S. Tschakerian and G. Furini are included. Webster Young is a prolific composer for opera, ballet, orchestra, piano, solo strings, and solo guitar. He is currently on his Opus 158. As a young man, Young studied composition with followers of Stravinsky and Milhaud. Young's family is related to Otto Harbach, the Broadway lyricist of the 1920'3 and 30's who wrote Smoke Gets in Your Eyes.
