This piece was written for my colleague organist's and prolific composer's from the US Carson Cooman's Pavane and Galliard project. Both dances could be played on a single manual organ without pedals but organists are free to play optional pedal lines on larger instruments as well on variety of registrations. Both pieces are created using a single theme which gets transformed rhythmically from singing duple rhythms in Pavane to jumping triple rhythms in Galliard. Dedicated to Carson Cooman.

Published by Vidas Pinkevicius (A0.1345823). This gentle meditation is based on the famous Polish Christmas carol W żłobie leży which in English speaking world is known as Infant Holy, Infant Lowly. It's also very popular in Lithuania and is known as Gul šiandieną. I created this piece for the first-year student of our Vilnius University Unda Maris organ studio Kotryna Kuliešiūtė, so that she could perform it in our upcoming Christmas concert. The structure of the piece is very simple - the right hand features the hymn tune in F major, the left hand has ostinato figure which is repeated every 7 measures. The pedal part is very easy - it has only 5 long pedal points - on F, D, Bb, C and F. I recorded it as a demonstration for Kotryna during one of our organ studio rehearsals at VU St. John's church.
