Organ: 3-staff - Intermediate SKU: LO.70-1054 Composed by Gerhard Krapf. Sacred, General, Hymn-Based Collection. Sacred Music Press #70/1054. Published by Sacred Music Press (LO.70-1054). UPC: 000308023831.The first volume of Creative Hymn Accompaniments by Gerhard Krapf met with wide acceptance, and The Sacred Music Press is pleased to offer this companion collection of 31 well-known hymn tunes for general and seasonal use. The organ accompaniments included here avoid extreme departures from traditional harmonies, and instead provide solid and refreshing alterations which will add interest and variety. Use of these accompaniments need not be restricted to a final stanza. Since each accompaniment is playable on one or two manuals, the organ introduction or a selected stanza may feature the tune played on a solo stop or combination. A contrasting stanza may then be played on one manual with principals and mixtures which support the congregational singing. Slight rhythmic adjustments may be necessary in some hymns to fit the variants which exist among different hymnals. Not difficult, and a handy master index for both volumes is provided.

Instrumental Solo,Pipe Organ - Level 2 - SKU: A0.1251250 By Audra Telksnytė. By Juozas Naujalis. Arranged by Balys Vaitkus. Classical,Religious,Romantic Period. Individual part. 2 pages. Nacionaline vargonininku asociacija #845527. Published by Nacionaline vargonininku asociacija (A0.1251250). 14 Preludes, Op. 20. Fourteen pieces for organ, dedicated to a “beloved friend, Fr. Teodoras Brazys,†presents the largest collection of works for this instrument in Naujalis’ oeuvre. Like Naujalis, Brazys was the graduate of the Church Music School in Regensburg. These fourteen preludes for organ appear to be written in expression of deep affinity and gratitude to a like-minded friend who shared similar values. Some of Naujalis’ organ preludes have been included in music collections abroad – by Mieczysław Surzyński in Warsaw and Joseph Joubert in Paris. Juozas Naujalis (1869–1934) – Lithuanian composer and organist. In 1892, he was appointed organist and choir leader at the Kaunas Cathedral, a position he held until his death. Naujalis became actively involved in organizing local musical societies and institutions. As an outcome of his groundbreaking work, a number of important private entities, such as the first boys’ choir in Lithuania based at the Archcathedral Basilica in Kaunas, courses and the school for organists (1911), the first legal Lithuanian bookshop and music publishing house in Kaunas (1905–1912), the first music magazine Vargonininkas (The Organist) and calendars for organists published in Lithuanian (1909–1910), and the music school in Kaunas (1919), have been launched. In 1908, he founded the Children Society and St. Gregory Society for Organists, which was later reorganised into St. Cecilia Society for church musicians (1924). Naujalis was also the first Lithuanian composer to achieve recognition abroad. His church music was published in Regensburg, Warsaw, St. Petersburg, Leipzig and Paris. In recognition of his merits in the field of church music he was made Commander of the Order of the Crown of Italy in Rome, in 1929.A total of 29 organ pieces by Naujalis were recorded at the Archcathedral Basilica in Kaunas in 2019.

Organ - Level 3 - SKU: A0.932696 Composed by William B. Bradbury. Arranged by Terry M. Forsyth. Christian,Sacred. Score. 4 pages. Forsyth Publishing #6113241. Published by Forsyth Publishing (A0.932696). This general purpose organ solo piece has a very peaceful, bluesy freedom while keeping true to the melody with only minimal additional notes. This piece is a favorite of my church members in a church where music during the service is restricted to hymns and songs people know. The only challenge is the first part of second verse with an obligato and accompanying figure both in left hand. This is also available for solo with flute for the intro and clarinet for the obligato of verse 2 which is very effective--and organ easier to play.

Published by Maggs (A0.821253). This arrangement for organ takes 2 lovely, gentle carols - The well-known Away in a Manger and the Polish carol, Infant Holy, Infant Lowly (W zlobie lezy). It begins with the Polish carol, and then Away in a Manger enters and intertwines itself with the first carol. It's not a difficult arrangement to play, and the pedal part is quite easy.

Instrumental Solo,Pipe Organ - Level 3 - SKU: A0.1371858 By Bernd Foerster. By Bernd Foerster. Arranged by Bernd Förster. Classical,Contemporary,Spiritual. Individual part. 2 pages. Bernd Foerster #956045. Published by Bernd Foerster (A0.1371858). I'm starting into my year of organ compositions with a midtempo piece in A major. It features two distinctive crescendos, the second one should lead to a full organ sound. I had the idea of that motif two years ago and just took notes of the first five or six measures. Some weeks ago I ran into these notes once again after I had forgotton them completely. Then in one creative evening I was able to write the whole piece. Never had been more in such a creative flow state of mind before. I hope this piece will find its audience. I love it very, very much.I created a video on YouTube if you want to see which stops I used to create the crescendos. But feel free to find your own perspective on registrations.Â

Organ - Level 4 - SKU: A0.908187 Composed by Rebecca Maughan Cook. 20th Century,Baroque,Blues,Contemporary. Score. 12 pages. Rebecca Maughan Cook #6873205. Published by Rebecca Maughan Cook (A0.908187). In 2021 I wrote this entry for an Organ Composition competition. We were required to use the pitches associated with RC MADER. I wrote this set of Miniatures exploring ideas associated with that. Movement 1 is a Fanfare and Hymn setting. Movement 2 is the only time the Pitches are played in entirety and I turned it into a Theme of Love. It's one of my favorite movements from this set. Movement 3 is a Blues with almost all the notes using the given pitches. Movement 4 is such a quirky little piece! It's a March and all the notes are from RC Mader. It was very fun to write. Movement 5 is a Toccata and in order to meet the requirement I placed some chords in inversion for the pedals and picked up the root on the LH. It's busy and beautiful. It's my other favorite movement. I'm uploading a midi recording of this. The first four movements are pretty accessible, but the 5th movement is more challenging. Have fun!

Published by Adrienne Inglis (ASCAP) (A0.1449467). Organ prelude for Pentecost or any opportunity to celebrate the Spirit!Organist Cathleen Parsley of University Christian Church in Austin, Texas, commissioned the multi-talented Adrienne Inglis to create an organ arrangement of the John L. Bell hymn She Is the Spirit. In her commentary on the work, Cathie shares: Adrienne’s arrangement is all I could have wished for. It evokes the birds, the sky, the dance, and the possibility of the Spirit referred to in the hymn’s verses. The registration is specific to UCC’s organ, though it will lend itself to any organ. It is a lovely work, written for the day (Pentecost), and it is an honor to play Adrienne’s piece for the first time this morning (May 19, 2024).Arrangement of hymn Thainaky by John L. In this meditation on the beloved hymn tune Nicaea (often sung to the words of Holy, Holy, Holy) the hymn tune appears in the right hand part, first in D major and then in F major. The left hand and pedal parts play asynchronous ostinato motives around the tune producing colourful harmony. The piece ends with the last phrase of the hymn in the D major key. This composition will be very effective in liturgical and concert organ playing whenever contemplative music is desired. Dedicated to Vidas Pinkevicius.
