Organ - Intermediate - Digital Download Composed by David Neff. 21st Century, Spiritual, Sacred, Funeral. Sheet Music Single. 3 pages. Published by David Neff
verybody loves "When the Saints Go Marching In" as an up-tempo, foot-tapping Dixieland march. But there are times when you want something slower and quieter to allude to the same classic tune. This is it. Use it as a prelude or communion meditation. Appropriate for All Saints Day, of course, or any saint's day. Excellent for funerals, as well.<br> Organists, use the pedals as you choose. Or even play it on the piano, since the hands can encompass all the notes.

Organ - advanced to difficult - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q6220 D'après Julien Gracq. Composed by Jean Guillou. This edition: Sheet music. Downloadable. Op. 26. Duration 17 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q6220. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q6220). Julien Gracq's novel Au château d'Argol° includes a chapter in which one of the heroes, Herminien, discovers a chapel hidden deep within a forest. Soon ... through the branches, twisted in fantastic arabesques, appeared the grey wall of a chapel hanging in the midst of an abyss. He sees an organ there, and, climbing the steps of the loft, he starts to improvise. Then, from the depts of his disquiet, a sound rose up. The author gives a description of this improvisation that, musically, expresses all the psychological tension that has built up in the course of the novel. The musical work bearing the title of this chapter does not claim to respond the letter of the literary description of this improvisation, which would be as impossible as describing Proust's Sonate de Vinteuil, but it is inspired by both - this description and by the novel itself.

Organ - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q21240 Chorale prelude and chorale setting. Composed by Hermann Schroeder. This edition: Sheet music. Downloadable. Schott Music - Digital #Q21240. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q21240). German. The fact that Hermann Schroeder ranks among the most important composers of Catholic church music in the 20th century shows especially in the simple church music form of the choral setting, e. g. in his setting of the sacred song Unüberwindlich starker Held, Sankt Michael. With his own typical archaic tonal language, Schroeder creates an a cappella choral setting (SATB) in which the dignity and the admiration of the heroic deeds of the Archangel Michael find their musical expression in a very compact form. The underlying melody (GL 924) dates from 1623. The author of the text of the Song of Michael is the German hymn writer Friedrich Spee. A very charming choral setting that can be easily mastered by any church choir; its five verses have to be sung alternately by the choir and the congregation. Apart from the a cappella choral setting, the practical congregational edition also contains a chorale prelude and the organ chorale which can, of course, be used as accompaniment for the congregation, but also for the choral setting.

Organ - advanced - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q7131 Von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit. Composed by Enjott Schneider. This edition: Sheet music. Downloadable. Duration 24 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q7131. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q7131). Each organ symphony by Enjott Schneider has its own colour and its own theme. Organ Symphony No. 7 'Von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit' is dominated by the theme of 'time': from the flowing rumbling of time in ancient beginnings ('In principio' - 1st movement) and periodic to the intellectually incomprehensible revolving ('Zeit der Sterne' - 2nd movement). After the third movement ('Zeit des Menschen'), a valse triste, infused by an almost humorous hectic atmosphere, the symphony ends with a kind of 'Amen!' in the fourth movement. Schneider sums it up: 'It is good as it is, we do not understand the course of time anyway.' With regard to style, his composition is based on elements of minimal music which he combines with the tradition of the European organ composition; it is at the same time a testimony to the composer's flexibility and versatility.

Organ: 3-staff - Intermediate SKU: LO.70-1607S A Hymn Collection for Organ. Composed by James Pethel. Sacred, General, Reformation. Sacred Music Press #70/1607S. Published by Sacred Music Press (LO.70-1607S). ISBN 9780893288419.Reformation Sunday is an important liturgical festival celebrated by Christians of many Protestant denominations, and is usually celebrated on the last Sunday in October. Besides the great Martin Luther statement A Mighty Fortress Is Our God, hymns celebrating the Church's heritage and God's nature are quite common during the service, and this vibrant, colorful collection of organ music reflects this holy day, with a bright setting of SOLID ROCK, a dance-like McKEE, a calm and gentle WELLESLEY, and, of course, a majestic EIN' FESTE BURG IST UNSER GOTT.

Taking into account the date of publication (1897) these seem to be the first printed organ compositions of Naujalis. They were published in Warsaw, in the collection Preludia na organy, part 2, series III. The publication soon received positive comments in the Polish newspaper of the St. Cecilia Society, Musica sacra (1898 No. 5). There are many signs that Naujalis used this edition as his favourite teaching manual since the fingerings and pedaling given are from the author himself.Juozas Naujalis (1869–1934) – Lithuanian composer and organist. In 1892, he was appointed organist and choir leader at the Kaunas Cathedral, a position he held until his death. Naujalis became actively involved in organizing local musical societies and institutions. As an outcome of his groundbreaking work, a number of important private entities, such as the first boys’ choir in Lithuania based at the Archcathedral Basilica in Kaunas, courses and the school for organists (1911), the first legal Lithuanian bookshop and music publishing house in Kaunas (1905–1912), the first music magazine Vargonininkas (The Organist) and calendars for organists published in Lithuanian (1909–1910), and the music school in Kaunas (1919), have been launched. In 1908, he founded the Children Society and St. Gregory Society for Organists, which was later reorganised into St. Cecilia Society for church musicians (1924). Naujalis was also the first Lithuanian composer to achieve recognition abroad. His church music was published in Regensburg, Warsaw, St. Petersburg, Leipzig and Paris. In recognition of his merits in the field of church music he was made Commander of the Order of the Crown of Italy in Rome, in 1929.A total of 29 organ pieces by Naujalis were recorded at the Archcathedral Basilica in Kaunas in 2019.

The performer should not change the registration in the course of each movement (the registrations given may, of course, be changed if necessary). If the performer wishes to play these works on two seperate keyboards, it would be necessary to have the same registration on each keyboard (ie if mixture on the I, mixtures on the II : reeds on I, reeeds on II etc). If the performer is tempted to add an improvised pedal part, the composer would have no problem with that if it were done with taste.

Fourteen pieces for organ, dedicated to a “beloved friend, Fr. Teodoras Brazys,†presents the largest collection of works for this instrument in Naujalis’ oeuvre. Like Naujalis, Brazys was the graduate of the Church Music School in Regensburg. These fourteen preludes for organ appear to be written in expression of deep affinity and gratitude to a like-minded friend who shared similar values. Some of Naujalis’ organ preludes have been included in music collections abroad – by Mieczysław Surzyński in Warsaw and Joseph Joubert in Paris. Juozas Naujalis (1869–1934) – Lithuanian composer and organist.
