Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - SKU: A0.1458135 By Johnson Gao. By Johnson Gao. Arranged by Johnson Gao. 20th Century. Score. 213 pages. Johnson Gao #1037106. Published by Johnson Gao (A0.1458135). This song has 14 chapters representing 12 waltzes mixed. The music sheet has 213 pages and can be electronically converted to a soundtrack playing for about 21 minutes. Some songs (chapters) were composed of ancient Chinese poems by famous poets like Liu Bang, Bai Juyi, Tao Yuan-ming, Su Dong-po, et al. A video with the same title has been posted on YouTube.com, which contains more than 130 images of photos and a few short videos with the background melody of this song. Although most of the songs were published before as early as 2008 and later, the author re-composed carefully based on his memory with certain modifications and key signature changes to adjust an even playing of the song in one whole piece. The highlights of the stories' songs are as follows: The beginning part of the song is originally called the prelude of Tao Yuan-ming's The Eutopia of the Peach Land Spring; which is followed by the historical long poem of 616 Chinese characters called Pi Pa Xing by Bai Ji-yi around 1:30. Around 8:06 is a small bird feeding her young chicken and its tail-dancing matches with the melody of the song which was modified from Beijing Opera by the composer. Around 11:30 is the song called Wedding Waltz for Su Dong-po's poem Written on the West Wood Wall; around 13:40 is the Chi Le Song; around 14:00 to 15:00 is the song - Love Forever, which was jointly created with his son Raymond and his wife Catherine 25 years ago. The playing time at 15:30 is the song the author wrote for his poem called Life and Sea in 100 Chinese Characters; around 18:00 to 19:00 is King's Wedding by the author. Two songs around 11:00 are Raise the Championship Cup and 19:30 Bon Voyage which the composer wrote for the 2008 Bejing Olympic Games. .

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1032610 Composed by Norman Mathews. Broadway,Jazz,Musical/Show. Score. 83 pages. Eburn Press #5026519. Published by Eburn Press (A0.1032610). This collection of ballads (six instrumental and ten vocal) was composed over a period of thirty years. I place these works together because the ballad is my favorite genre of song. All the songs are presented in lead-sheet format. The vocal pieces, however, are in addition given in their original arrangements. Some of these songs in the arranged form are not truly jazz inflected. I believe, though, that an inventive pianist may give them a jazz feel using the lead-sheets as blueprints. With some of the vocal works, I have transposed them up in order to make them more comfortable on the keyboard. The arrangements remain in their original keys. The vocal pieces are from either my Dorothy Parker musical, You Might as Well Live (which has been performed by Tony-Award-Winner Michele Pawk and Broadway star Karen Mason) or from a cabaret revue, entitled Somebody Write Me a Song (which has been performed by Tony-Award-Winner Debbie Gravitte and Tony-Nominee Liz Callaway). The Psalmist uses 4 of them in Psalm 91. Each name has a special significance. ♫ El Elyon tells us of God’s supremacy, he is the Most High God. ♫ The name El Shaddai speaks of the superiority of His power. He is The Almighty. ♫ Yahweh is the sacred covenant name of God. Jewish people have been forbidden even to pronounce this name for hundreds of years. It speaks to the preeminence of His existence. He is the I AM. Of all who are worshipped as gods, He alone exists. ♫ Elohai is a variation of Elohim. This spelling literally means ‘My God.’ ♫ sequenced by the composer ♫ This .pdf file includes 1) labeled copies for up to 7 printed copies of the lead sheet for worship team use, 2) vocal line with piano accompaniment, 3) optional flute part, and 4) lead sheet for 10 inch tablet, and vocal line with piano for 10 inch tablet. Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - SKU: A0.1025435 Composed by Samuel Warren Hatch. 20th Century,Contemporary,Jazz. Score. 9 pages. Samuel Warren Hatch #4764165. Published by Samuel Warren Hatch (A0.1025435). Piano Sonata No. 1 in E Major is the first series of concert piano works by S. Warren Hatch, written during his undergraduate study at Campbell University. Each movement is distinct, in that each of them is composed in a different form, utilizes different key changes and scales, and takes influence from a different period in classical music. While there is no theme that connects them to one another, they are all in the key of E Major and consist mostly of a waltz-like feeling. III. A Reflection of Passing depicts the shifting aspects about death as a person matures. It’s a piece that came from a time of great loss and much grieving. It begins with an innocent, hopeful understanding of death, followed by a major tone shift, where there is an odd utilization of the piano: the performer sings into the piano while holding down the sustain pedal, which vibrates certain overtones, producing what sounds like a distant choir. The piece closes with a triumphant, hopeful melody, borrowed from a song written by S. Warren Hatch when he was in high school.Composer Notes- Be sure to ensure that the stage hands lift the piano lid before the sonata’s start, as the strings will need to be exposed in order for you to sing into the piano’s body during A Reflection of Passing. For that section (page 22) you will need to face and sing directly into the strings while holding down the sustain pedal for the entire page. If you are playing with the sheet music (don’t worry, I’m not shaming you) simply slide the music holder in order to expose the part of the strings that are closest to you. For this sonata, I encourage you to find your own voice in these pieces. Your own interpretation should align with how you most relate to the message/story they’re telling. This could be using the una corda (leftmost) pedal during lighter sections to further differentiate them, or having a heavier rubato to strengthen the impact of certain phrases. As long as you bring these pieces to life, then it has my stamp of approval.

Mario Stallbaumer #918246. Published by Mario Stallbaumer (A0.1330377). With this sheet music, you can play Fairytale of New York by the Pogues on the piano! It's an accurate, carefully created piano arrangement of the famous Christmas song.Written by Jem Finer and Shane MacGowan, Fairytale of New York is a beautiful Irish folk ballad. The Pogues recorded it together with Kirsty MacColl, and included it on their 1988 album If I Should Fall from Grace with God.Released as a single in November 1987, Fairytale of New York became one of the most popular Christmas songs in the UK and is even considered the best Christmas song of all time. It's certainly not your typical feel-good Christmas song - it covers issues like alcoholism and drug abuse, wrecked dreams, and comes with quite a few slurs and swear words. At the same time, it's also a song with an honest message of love and hope, and it might just be what one needs to hear during the Christmas season. In any case, it's a wonderful song to play on the piano. Merry Christmas!

Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.8491-40E). French.A French composer, Théodore Gouvy (1819-1898) was one of the most significant composers of 19th Century in Europe. The movement of rediscovering his instrumental music has been increasingly successful in Europe since the 1990s, especially following the birth of L’Institut Gouvy in France. However, his solo vocal music has been waiting to be unveiled to the public. Volume One includes 52 songs of Gouvy.Gouvy traveled widely throughout Europe. He was also a lover of nature. Generally, he spent his winters in Leipzig, but in the summertime, he always returned to Hombourg-Haut, France, to stroll through the woods, to hunt, and to relax. Gouvy was fluent in several languages and had a great appreciation of the Renaissance French Poetry of Pierre de Ronsard whose poetry he had set to music. The fifty-two songs in this volume are largely by Ronsard and other Renaissance poets of La Pléiade.Although Ronsard is approximately 300 years older than Gouvy, they both seem to have the same interest in classical literature, though, admittedly, for different reasons. Celebrated by the French and English courts, Ronsard (1525-1585) was the leader of La Pléiade: a group of seven poets (Joachim Du Bellay (1522-1560), Rémy Belleau (1528-1577), Étienne Jodelle (1532-1573), Pontus de Tyard (1521-1603), Jean–Antoine Baïf (1532-1589), and Jean Daurat (1508-1588), who dedicated their efforts to writing poetry in French rather than in Latin (or Greek) as most of the Romantic poets did. They wished to enrich the French language, and establish a new literature which would be the equal of the other literature of their period, and the equal to poets of the past. French Romantic poetry featured the closeness of the poet to nature, and his ability to communicate with nature by personifying (anthropomorphizing) all of nature’s elements: flowers, the planets, the moon, the breeze, and even the sand upon the shore. As a significant melodist, Gouvy’s treatment of the vocal solo line and his treatment and development of the piano accompaniment places him in the upper echelons as a composer of songs. His diverse cultural life led a rich and significant musical life, interacting with his contemporaries who admired his work, and whom Gouvy knew well, such as Liszt, Brahms, Schumann, Mendelssohn, Berlioz and Gounod.

Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.8491-08E).
