German.

An important addition to our newly produced orchestral materials is the first publication of vocal scores of Wagner’s ten great operas, in every important version, based on the Complete Edition. * The score corresponds to the performance materials from the Complete Edition. * For practical use in rehearsal cues and bar numbers throughout. * The publisher has secured the services of renewed musicologists associated with the Richard Wagner Complete Edition who convey detailed information in critical forewords. * The forewords are given in three languages(German, English, French). * Uniform and attractive front cover designs with reproductions of paintings from the Wagner era underline the series design of the edition. DIE MEISTERSINGER VON NÜRNBERG “Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg is today still considered a German festival and national opera: this evaluation is borne out by the opera’s performance history, the history of its reception and customary performance practice. Critical minds will perhaps recall the quotation from Friedrich Nietzsche’s publication \"Jenseits von Gut und Böse\" [Beyond Good and Evil] in which the Vorspiel [Prelude] to Meistersinger is described as ‘magnificent, ornate and ponderous art’ and Wagner’s music in general as being ‘rough and coarse’. This music according to Nietzsche possesses ‘no trace of the fine southern clarity of the sky and nothing of grace’, but instead ‘a cumbersome garb, with a touch of licentious barbarism and solemnity’ and ‘even a certain degree of ungainliness’. Nietzsche’s evaluation is regarded by many as an insight into the essence of the matter, although it is evident that Nietzsche was exaggerating in order to be provocative. What is more important today is however that this characterisation appears to have been the result of an approach to the performance of Meistersinger which had neglected or even gone as far as to misappropriate elements of this work. This is also the conclusion reached in the Meistersinger Edition of the Critical Complete Edition of the Musical Works of Richard Wagner (Richard Wagner, Sämtliche Werke, Vol. 9, I-III, edited by Egon Voss, Mainz 1979-1987). It has in fact been established that the first print of the score published by B. Schott’s Söhne in Mainz in 1868 contained numerous errors and omissions, particularly with regard to dynamic markings and articulation. The difference between staccato dots and dashes which has an influence on the tone was simply ignored. The substantial omission of these staccato markings unambiguously draws attention to the fact that Wagner intended a lighter-weight sound than was produced in adherence the first edition. The same also holds true for the dynamic markings which were submitted to a general levelling process in the first edition, thereby entirely masking their original broad scope of differentiation. […] When the saying ‘the music sets the tone’ is cited, it is in actual fact tempo, dynamics which are implied. If the new findings incorporated into the Meistersinger edition of the Critical Complete Edition are taken seriously, this will inevitably produce a new Meistersinger sound.” (Egon Voss, quoted from the foreword of the new Meistersinger vocal score; translated by Lindsay Chalmers-Gerbracht).German.

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1376743 By Brooke Griffin Carpenter. By Brooke Griffin Carpenter. Arranged by Brooke Griffin Carpenter. Christian,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred,Spiritual. Score. 8 pages. Brooke Griffin Carpenter #961290. Published by Brooke Griffin Carpenter (A0.1376743). I wrote this song to describe my feelings about the atonement of Jesus Christ. It's a conversation with the Savior about His role in my life and my desire to follow Him. It was greatly inspired by the October 2012 General Conference address The First Great Commandment by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland. Elder Holland states: My beloved brothers and sisters, I am not certain just what our experience will be on Judgment Day, but I will be very surprised if, at some point in that conversation, God does not ask us exactly what Christ asked Peter: 'Did you love me?' I think He will want to know if in our very mortal, very inadequate, and sometimes childish grasp of things, did we at least understand one commandment, the first and greatest commandment of them all—'Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind' (Luke 10:27; see also Matthew 22:37–38). And if at such a moment we can stammer out, 'Yea, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee,' then He may remind us that the crowning characteristic of love is always loyalty. This song is a testament of the words I want to say when that day comes for me.*Please note that this is the solo version of this composition.

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1358160 By Trixie Friganza. By Words by Jack Norworth Music by Albert Von Tilzer. Arranged by Dave Gingras and John E. Dosher. Early Music,Jazz. Score. 2 pages. DAVID LEE GINGRAS #942648. Published by DAVID LEE GINGRAS (A0.1358160). Take Me Out to the Ball Game is a 1908 Tin Pan Alley song by Jack Norworth and Albert Von Tilzer which has become the unofficial anthem of North American baseball, although neither of its authors had attended a game before writing the song. The song's chorus is traditionally sung as part of the seventh-inning stretch of a baseball game. Fans are generally encouraged to sing along, and at some ballparks, the words home team are replaced with the team name. This arrangement was developed from the original 1908 sheet music, but simplified so that someone of average ability can perform it and sound great doing so! We hope you like what we've done with this classic tune!

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1284056 Composed by Spiritual. Arranged by Maria Thompson Corley. 21st Century,Chamber,Sacred,Spiritual,Traditional. Score. 8 pages. Maria Thompson Corley #875229. Published by Maria Thompson Corley (A0.1284056). “Crossing Jordan†grew out of my daughter Kiana’s surprise request that I arrange a spiritual for voice, piano and cello for her senior recital. She received a degree in commercial music the year before COVID shut everything down, at a time before climate change made blizzards an anomaly here in Central PA. As a result, snow days still existed. I spent one of them doing the first draft of “Deep River,†her favorite.Later, I decided that if singers engage a cellist for a concert, they might like to program more than one piece for them, so I chose two more water-themed spirituals to complete the set. “His Name So Sweet†is a more meditative version of the song than I’ve generally heard. I wanted the piano, cello, and briefly the voice to imitate the fountain in the text. The mood is ecstasy, resulting from the fundamental change that baptism is meant to create. “Deep River†also includes “Michael Row The Boat Ashore†and “The Water Is Wide.†The latter isn’t a spiritual, however, taken together the message is that the river is deep, the water is wide, but with (the Archangel?) Michael’s help, Jordan can be crossed. “Wade in the Water†is one of the most well-known spirituals. I focus on the idea of escaping enslavement: the opening is quiet, furtive, maybe even nervous. The Moses in the text can be understood to be Harriet Tubman, who might urge escapees to wade in the water so pursuing dogs couldn’t follow their scent. In my mind, the ending symbolizes that the party has vanished, never to be enslaved again.

Piano Solo, Piano/Vocal/Chords, Voice Duet - Intermediate - Digital Download By Glee Cast. Arranged by Mario Stallbaumer. 7 pages. Published by Mario Stallbaumer
With this piano sheet music, you can play “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” on piano!

The famous duet "Baby, It's Cold Outside" was written in 1944 by Frank Loesser, who regularly performed the song at celebrity parties with his wife, Lynn Garland.

In 1949, the song appeared in the film "Neptune's Daughter", and won an Academy Award for Best Original Song!

The song is clearly winter-themed (talking about the blizzard outside!), but it doesn’t mention anything holiday-related. Anyway, the song is generally considered a Christmas song.

Of course, the song has been covered by countless artists since the 40s.

Some of the most memorable recordings include such fantastic duos as Louis Armstrong and Velma Middleton, Ray Charles and Betty Carter, Rod Stewart and Dolly Parton, Idina Menzel and Michael Bublé, Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth MacFarlane and Sara Bareilles!

“Baby, It’s Cold Outside” also appeared in an episode of Glee (“A Very Glee Christmas”, Season 2, Episode 10), where it is performed by members of the Glee Cast (Blaine Anderson/Darren Criss and Kurt Hummel/Chris Colfer).

Time for you to play it!

These piano sheets come with seperate systems for the two singers, so you’ll always have an easy oversight who’s singing when. Of course, the full lyrics and chords are included as well.

You can use these piano sheets to play the song for yourself on piano, accompany singers, or sing along yourself!

Listen to the full arrangement here: https://youtu.be/Y5gtxqT_Ewo

Here are the full lyrics to “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”:

[VERSE 1]

I really can't stay (but baby, it's cold outside)

I've got to go away (but baby, it's cold outside)

This evening has been (been hoping that you'd drop in)

So very nice (i'll hold your hands, they're just like ice)

My mother will start to worry (beautiful what's your hurry?)

My father will be pacing the floor (listen to the fireplace roar)

So really I'd better scurry (beautiful please don't hurry)

But maybe just a half a drink more (put some records on while I pour)

The neighbors might think (baby, it's bad out there)

Say what's in this drink? (no cabs to be had out there)

I wish I knew how (your eyes are like starlight now)

To break this spell (i'll take your hat, your hair looks swell)

I ought to say, no, no, no sir (mind if I move in closer?)

At least I'm gonna say that I tried (what's the sense in hurtin' my pride?)

I really can't stay (oh baby don't hold out)

But baby, it's cold outside

[VERSE 2]

I simply must go (but baby, it's cold outside)

The answer is no (but baby, it's cold outside)

Your welcome has been(how lucky that you dropped in)

So nice and warm (look out the window at this dawn)

My sister will be suspicious (gosh your lips look delicious)

My brother will be there at the door (waves upon the tropical shore)

My maiden aunts mind is vicious (gosh your lips are delicious)

But maybe just a cigarette more (never such a blizzard before)

I've gotta get home(but baby, you'd freeze out there)

Say lend me a coat(it's up to your knees out there)

You've really been grand (i thrill when you touch my hand)

But don't you see? Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.829234 Composed by Tim Minchin. Arranged by Brianne Lundberg. Broadway,Children,Contemporary,Film/TV,Musical/Show. Score. 6 pages. Brianne Lundberg #5288581. Published by Brianne Lundberg (A0.829234). This playful piece from Matilda the Musical explores how children see grown ups and all that they imagine they will be able to do when they’re grown up. With a driving beat and a perfect balance between lightheartedness and solemnity, “When I Grow Up†is a fantastic and engaging modern musical theatre piece. This is an intermediate piano arrangement with optional vocal solo, set in the original key (F major). 5 pages (plus cover); includes repeats with 1st and 2nd endings. It is written in the same style as the original, but simplified to make it playable for an early to mid intermediate pianist. Good for smaller hands (largest harmonic interval is minor 7th). Includes chord symbols. This arrangement is a great standalone musical solo piece and includes all lyrics up through the verse originally written for Miss Honey; ends after this section (does not include the final upbeat section where Matilda's lyrics begin with Just because you find that life's not fair...).May be performed as a piano solo or as a vocal accompaniment. If used for vocal accompaniment, the vocalist should read the Treble staff of the piano part. Lyrics indicate which notes to follow. Vocalist should adjust octaves as needed. Lower harmonies are generally meant to be played by the pianist (not sung).See more previews of this sheet music at www.MusicAndTheory.com/when-i-grow-up-matilda.Brianne Lundberg is a Composer, Arranger, and Piano Instructor. Voice and piano (2 songs with violoncello; 1 vocal duet) - Medium - Digital Download SKU: MQ.8491-40E Composed by MeeAe Cecilia Nam and Theodore Gouvy. 4 pages. E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital #8491-40E. Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.8491-40E). French.A French composer, Théodore Gouvy (1819-1898) was one of the most significant composers of 19th Century in Europe. The movement of rediscovering his instrumental music has been increasingly successful in Europe since the 1990s, especially following the birth of L’Institut Gouvy in France. However, his solo vocal music has been waiting to be unveiled to the public. Volume One includes 52 songs of Gouvy.Gouvy traveled widely throughout Europe. He was also a lover of nature. Generally, he spent his winters in Leipzig, but in the summertime, he always returned to Hombourg-Haut, France, to stroll through the woods, to hunt, and to relax. Gouvy was fluent in several languages and had a great appreciation of the Renaissance French Poetry of Pierre de Ronsard whose poetry he had set to music. The fifty-two songs in this volume are largely by Ronsard and other Renaissance poets of La Pléiade.Although Ronsard is approximately 300 years older than Gouvy, they both seem to have the same interest in classical literature, though, admittedly, for different reasons. Celebrated by the French and English courts, Ronsard (1525-1585) was the leader of La Pléiade: a group of seven poets (Joachim Du Bellay (1522-1560), Rémy Belleau (1528-1577), Étienne Jodelle (1532-1573), Pontus de Tyard (1521-1603), Jean–Antoine Baïf (1532-1589), and Jean Daurat (1508-1588), who dedicated their efforts to writing poetry in French rather than in Latin (or Greek) as most of the Romantic poets did. They wished to enrich the French language, and establish a new literature which would be the equal of the other literature of their period, and the equal to poets of the past. French Romantic poetry featured the closeness of the poet to nature, and his ability to communicate with nature by personifying (anthropomorphizing) all of nature’s elements: flowers, the planets, the moon, the breeze, and even the sand upon the shore. As a significant melodist, Gouvy’s treatment of the vocal solo line and his treatment and development of the piano accompaniment places him in the upper echelons as a composer of songs. His diverse cultural life led a rich and significant musical life, interacting with his contemporaries who admired his work, and whom Gouvy knew well, such as Liszt, Brahms, Schumann, Mendelssohn, Berlioz and Gounod.
