SSAA, piano, flute and bassoon / 6 minI was taken in by the story in the poem “Tree-Burial†by William Cullen Bryant, a 19th century American romantic poet - about a Native American ritual of burying a child high among the trees rather than in the ground. This ritual and the words spoken seem a powerful balm in the face of grief and sadness. The text reflects the mother’s tenderness to the child - sorrowful but loving and beautiful. I found the poem in a collection of “Poems About Trees,†celebrating sacred groves, wild woodlands, and bountiful orchards, paying lyrical tribute to these majestic beings with whom we share the earth.Composed for women’s voices, the flute and bassoon add a doleful fullness to this piece. This is a fabulous song by Pentatonix which I have arranged for four-part (SSAA) a cappella voices, although sometimes the voice parts split. It can be sung with or without the body percussion as I know it's sometimes difficult to do both at the same time!Whilst in the original Pentatonix song, Scott Hoying has most of the solos, I have arranged this so that all voices get the chance to sing the main melody. The bass part is not the most interesting(!) as the whole song is built over a repeating two-bar phrase (four chords). However, in this arrangement, I have managed to give them the main melody at bar 30 and at bar 61 they are the only voice-part to sing Mitch's parting tune - it's the basses' time to shine!I have two versions of this song available. The other version (Product Number 1355563) is easier to sing. If you want a challenge, this is the version you should try! It's as close as I could get to the original.

You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth - Choral Arrangement for SSAA and Piano by Michael Thomas Coull.You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth (also known as You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth (Hot Summer Night)) is the first solo single by the American singer Meat Loaf, released in 1977.  It is a track from his album Bat Out of Hell, written by Jim Steinman. According to his autobiography, Meat Loaf asked Jim Steinman to write a song that was not 15 or 20 minutes long, and, in Meat Loaf’s words, a ‘pop song’.  His autobiography also dates the writing of the song to 1975, the song reportedly being a key factor in Meat Loaf and Steinman deciding to do an album together. The song was the first single released from the album, with an edit of For Crying Out Loud as the B-side.  The record peaked at No. 73 in the Record World singles chart, and didn't appear at all in Billboard Hot 100.  Billboard reviewed the single, finding the guitar introduction to be energetic, the beat to be ‘catchy’ and the vocal performance to be somewhat similar to Bruce Springsteen. Billboard also commented on how occasional pauses in the instruments allow the ‘infectious’ vocals to be highlighted.  Following the success of the next two singles, Two Out of Three Ain't Bad and Paradise by the Dashboard Light, the song was re-released in October 1978 with Paradise as the B-side.  This issue peaked at No. 39 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, over a year after the first release of the song.This exciting and energetic choral arrangement is voiced for SSAA women's choir with piano accompaniment, and will lend a touch of contemporary pop/rock to your next concert.Also available for SATB.

Treble-voice a cappella arrangement of A Thousand Kisses Deep by Leonard Cohen. Gorgeous lines for all four parts, melody appears in different parts for the differnet verses, with subtle counterpoint in the accompanying parts. Dynamics, phrasing and cutoffs all highlight the text. This arrangement follows the form exactly, with a vocalise where the original had an instrumental section. The syllable used is dng; the primary sound is on the ng, a syllable often used for clarifying pitch in choral ensembles. It creates a beautiful bell-like sound when used this way. Extremely fun to sing.

This upbeat early 2000's Christmas original in harmonic minor has a small rap solo in the bridge! Opportunities for multiple soloists, as long as they can handle the complex pop rhythms. Alto 2 goes down to F#3 with optional E3's. Feel free to adapt the arrangement in any way to accommodate the needs and strengths of your group.
